SAFETY TIPS
Here are some important safety tips for cyclists:
- Wear a Helmet: Always protect your head with a helmet when cycling.
- Ride in Control: Maintain control of your bike at all times to avoid accidents.
- Use Lights and Reflective Gear: Make yourself visible in low light conditions with lights and reflective gear.
- Inspect Your Bike: Regularly check your bike, especially the brakes, for any issues.
- Seek Maintenance: If you notice any significant changes in your bike’s performance, get it serviced.
- Know the Rules: Understand and follow the rules of the road when cycling.
- Ride Defensively: Be aware that you may not be as visible to others as you think. Watch for hazards and be ready to stop or take evasive action.
- Avoid Road Hazards: Keep an eye out for obstacles like potholes, drain grates, and loose road material.
- Use Both Brakes: Use both the front and rear brakes together for better stopping performance. Relying solely on the rear brake increases stopping distance.
BATTERY SAFETY
These safety precautions are provided for your benefit to protect you and those around you. Please read and follow them carefully to avoid unnecessary injury; damage to the product, or damage to other property.
Here are important guidelines for the care and maintenance of your battery and charger:
- Safe Charging: Avoid placing anything on the battery and charger during charging to prevent overheating and potential damage.
- Use the Original Charger: Use only the charger provided by the original factory to charge the battery. Using a different charger may void your battery’s warranty.
- Charge as Needed: You can recharge your battery whenever it loses power without waiting for a complete discharge.
- Long-Term Storage: If you don’t plan to use or charge your battery for an extended period, it’s advisable to charge it every 4-6 weeks to maintain performance. Prolonged inactivity can lead to decreased battery performance.
- Battery Lifespan: While protection can help maintain about 80% of the battery’s capacity after 500 cycles, gradual decline in performance is normal over time.
- Avoid Long-Term Discharge: Leaving the battery in a discharged state for an extended period can result in permanent performance loss.
- Proper Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Remember to take it out for charging every 30 days.
- Temperature Control: Maintain a temperature range of 50-70°F (10-21°C) and avoid exposure to direct sunlight for optimal battery health.
- No Short-Circuiting: Never intentionally short-circuit the battery, as this can cause severe damage and void the warranty.
- Responsible Disposal: Dispose of your batteries in accordance with local recycling regulations to protect the environment.
- Customer Support: For any questions regarding battery usage, maintenance, or storage, reach out to customer service.
- Use Original Battery: Use only the battery supplied with your electronic bike for safe and efficient operation.
- Supervised Charging: Never leave a lithium battery charging unsupervised to prevent potential safety hazards.
BICYCLE MAINTENANCE TIPS
- Keep batteries fully charged when not in use.
- Avoid submerging the bike or its components in water, as it may harm the electrical system.
- Periodically inspect wiring and connectors for damage and ensure they are securely connected.
- For cleaning, use a damp cloth with a mild, non-corrosive detergent mixture on the frame and dry it with a cloth.
- Store your bike under shelter to protect it from rain and corrosive substances. After rain exposure, dry the bicycle and apply anti-rust treatment to unpainted steel parts.
- Riding in coastal or salty environments exposes your bike to corrosion. Regularly wash it and apply anti-rust treatment to unpainted surfaces. Corrosion is not covered under warranty.
- If hub and bottom bracket bearings get wet, remove and regrease them to prevent premature wear.
- For scratched or chipped paint, use touch-up paint or clear nail polish to prevent rust.
- Maintain all moving parts by cleaning and lubricating them regularly, tightening components, and making adjustments as needed.
Your bike’s cables, spokes, and chain will naturally undergo some stretching during the first 50-100 miles of use, and bolted connections might loosen. To address this, it’s advisable to schedule a professional tune-up with a certified bicycle mechanic after this break, which can vary based on factors like total weight, riding style, and terrain. Consistent inspections and tune- ups are crucial for maintaining the safety and trouble-free performance of your ANDSKY Bike.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If you encounter a problem, identify the root cause(s) and apply the right solution(s) for a fix. When uncertain, seek assistance from a qualified technician for service, repairs, or maintenance.
