INSTALLATION
Safety And Preparation
Securing the Boat
Before beginning the installation, make sure the boat is stationary and
securely moored to provide a stable environment.
Electrical Safety
Ensure all engines, power sources, battery chargers, and inverters are turned
off. Also, disconnect the boat from shore power to prevent any electrical
hazards.
Work Environment
Ensure the area is well-ventilated and free of clutter to facilitate a safe
installation process.
Pairing
Open the Vanemar App on your mobile device. Tap ‘+’ or ‘Add device’ button in
the ‘Devices’ menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
Fixing in Place
- You may use the adhesive mounting tapes included in the package to secure the sensor. While the tapes are interlocked, peel one side and stick them to the marked area on the sensor’s back
- Before attaching, ensure the surface is clean and dry. Then, peel the other side of the tapes and press firmly onto the desired location for a secure hold.
Usage in Bilges
Position the sensor in the bilge at the high water level, the level where you want the alarm to be activated. Keep in mind that the sensor will trigger an alarm when both probes at the back contact water. For correct placement, ensure the sensor probes are aligned with the high water level and refer to the image for guidance.
Usage in Other Areas
You may also place the sensor in locations where water leaks are a concern, to help detect any overflows or leaks.
Indicators
Opening/Closing the Cover
Turn the top cover counterclockwise as shown, being careful not to strain the internal cable. Remove the battery tab if it’s present. For closing, align the top cover’s short line mark with the bottom cover’s ‘OFF’ mark, then rotate clockwise until it aligns with the opposite mark. Check that the cable is not trapped.
Using the
Networking Button
To put your device into pairing mode, press and hold the networking button for
5 seconds. The LED will flash rapidly in green, indicating it’s ready to pair.
Once the device is successfully paired, the LED will turn solid green for 3
seconds and then turn off, confirming the successful connection. If your
device is already paired and you wish to unpair it, press and hold the
networking button for 5 seconds. The device will indicate its disconnection by
slowly flashing in green.
Changing the Battery
Open and close the sensor cover as outlined in this guide when replacing the
battery. Ensure the sensor is dry and clean before starting. Use a CR123A or
CR17335 battery. Insert it correctly, aligning the positive and negative ends,
and ensure the cover is securely closed for waterproofing.
Maintenance & Cleaning
- Maintain your sensor’s water resistance by avoiding prolonged submersion and ensuring the cover is always tightly closed.
- Regularly inspect for damage to keep it in top condition.
- During cleaning activities, temporarily remove the sensor to avoid false alarms. After cleaning, once the area is dry, replace the sensor. Stay alert for low battery warnings through the device’s indicators or the Vanemar App, and change the battery promptly when needed.
