Electrical connections and unit switch-on

Standard wiring

  • Each EV charger must be connected via a separate RCD (Residual Current Device / fault-current circuit breaker), if required by local regulations. No other consumers may be connected to this circuit (Figure 3).Eaton-DC22-Green-Motion-Building-EV-Charger-FIG- \(4\)
  • Refer to the installation manual and local standards for further details on requirements in terms of circuit breakers and minimal cross-sections of conductors.

Electrical connections and terminals

  • Open the housing of the Green Motion Building by unscrewing the eight screws as indicated in Figure 4.Eaton-DC22-Green-Motion-Building-EV-Charger-FIG- \(5\)
  • When removing the cover of the unit, please make sure to not break any cables from the electronic board.
  • Disconnect the connection cables from the front cover.
  • Insert the power supply cable from the bottom of the unit.

Remove the cable glands, if necessary.

  • The electrical connection is made on the power supply terminals located at the bottom-right of the electronic board of the unit (Figure 5).Eaton-DC22-Green-Motion-Building-EV-Charger-FIG- \(6\)
  • In case of three phases, connect the phase (L1, L2, L3), neutral (N), and earth (PE) wires of the AC (distribution) grid to the power supply terminal block respecting the correct assignment (Figure 5).
  • In case of single phase, connect the phase (L1), neutral (N) and earth (PE) wires of the AC (distribution) grid to the power supply terminal block respecting the correct assignment (Figure 5).
  • It is prohibited to connect the unit to a grid circuit with a 3-phase IT grid configuration

Limit maximum capacity

  • You can limit the output power of the Green Motion Building through the switch DP1 located on the backside of the front cover.
  • Refer to Table 1 to select the appropriate configuration of the unit depending on the maximum capacity of your electrical installation. Unit switch-on
  • In case of a wall-mounted Green Motion Building: Check that the unit is correctly fixed to the wall by local regulations.
  • In case of a unit mounted on a column: Check that the unit and the column are correctly installed by local regulations.
  • Check that the AC GRID connections have been made correctly by local regulations.
  • Perform the checks on the continuity of the connections of the protective conductor, insulation resistance, RCD triggering current, triggering time, etc., by local regulations.
  • Verify that the housing cover is closed and secured with the fixing screws.
  • Place the installer’s warranty seals at the locations specified in the Installation Manual as on Figure 8.Eaton-DC22-Green-Motion-Building-EV-Charger-FIG- \(10\)
  • If the checks listed above were successful, proceed as follows:
