Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Chord PB-959 power bank for wire-free operation of
your effect pedals. Please read below for an explanation of the controls and
to get the best results from your power bank.
The PB-959 is supplied with two short DC jack leads and a USB A to micro-B
charging lead. It is advisable to fully charge the PB-959 before use by
inserting the supplied USB lead to the micro-B socket on the top edge of the
power bank and connecting the type-A plug to a 5V USB power supply (not
included) with 2A or above current output. A full charge should take around 5
hours and is indicated by 4 red LEDs above the 9V Power Button.

Connect either or both the supplied DC jack leads from a 9Vdc output on the
top edge of the PB-959 to the DC input of an effect pedal (or other
equipment), ensuring that the receiving item operates from 9Vdc with centre-
negative polarity. The total output for 9Vdc is 1200mA, which can be delivered
from either or both DC jack outputs and may be split using a daisy-chain lead
(not included) across many pedals up to the rated current output. To initiate
9Vdc power to the pedal(s), press and hold the 9V Power Button for 2 seconds,
the 9V Power LED and charge status indicators will light. For charge status,
the indicators light as shown opposite.
To switch off 9V power output, press and hold the 9V Power Button again and
the LED indicators will go out.

Alternatively, the PB-959 can be used as a standard USB power bank by
connecting a USB powered device to the USB-A socket on the top edge of the
PB-959 and the power bank will automatically deliver 5Vdc (2A max) to the USB
output. Only the charge status indicators will light if 9V output is not
activated. Do not use USB and 9V outputs simultaneously. When charging a USB
device is complete, the PB-959 will switch off automatically.
The PB-959 also has a built-in LED torch, which can be switched on or off by
double-pressing the 9V Power Button.
