GENERAL INFORMATION

UNPACKING
Thank you for purchasing the MDF3 by Eliminator Lighting. Every unit has been thoroughly tested and has been shipped in perfect operating condition. Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the carton appears to be damaged, carefully inspect your fixture for any damage and be sure all accessories necessary to operate the unit have arrived intact. In the event that damage has been found or parts are missing, please  contact our toll free customer support number for further instructions. Do not return this unit to your dealer without first contacting customer support.
INTRODUCTION
The MDF3 is a single, robust, lightweight, and modular LED dance floor panel illuminated by an arrangement of vibrant 3-in-1 RGB color mixing LEDs that is 600mm x 600mm (23.62” x 23.62”) in size. To optimize the performance of  this product, please read these operating instructions carefully to familiarize yourself with the basic operations of this unit. These instructions contain important safety information regarding the use and maintenance of this unit. Please  keep this manual with the unit for future reference.

Warning! To prevent or reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture.
Caution! There are no user serviceable parts inside this unit. Do not attempt any repairs yourself, as doing so will void your manufacturer’s warranty. In the event that your unit requires service, please contact Eliminator Lighting for  assistance.
PLEASE recycle the shipping carton when ever possible.

LIMITED WARRANTY (USA ONLY)

A. Eliminator Lighting, an ADJ Products, LLC brand, hereby warrants, to the original purchaser, Eliminator Lighting products to be free of manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for a prescribed period from the date of purchase (see specific warranty period on reverse). This warranty shall be valid only if the product is purchased within the United States of America, including possessions and territories. It is the owner’s responsibility to establish the date and place of purchase by acceptable evidence, at the time service is sought.
B. For warranty service, you must obtain a Return Authorization number (RA#) before sending back the product-please contact ADJ Products, LLC Service Department at 800-322-6337. Send the product only to the Eliminator Lighting factory. All shipping charges must be pre-paid. If the requested repairs or service (including parts replacement) are within the terms of this warranty, Eliminator Lighting will pay return shipping charges only to a designated point within the United States. If the entire instrument is sent, it must be shipped in its original package. No accessories should be shipped with the product. If any accessories are shipped with the product, Eliminator Lighting shall have no liability whatsoever for loss of or damage to any such accessories, or for the safe return thereof.
C. This warranty is void of the serial number has been altered or removed; if the product is modified in any manner which Eliminator Lighting concludes, after inspection, affects the reliability of the product, if the product has been repaired or service by anyone other than ADJ Products, LLC factory unless prior written authorization was issued to purchaser by Eliminator Lighting; if the product is damaged because not properly maintained as set forth in the instruction manual.
D. This is not a service contact, and this warranty does not include maintenance, cleaning or periodic check up. During the period specified above, Eliminator Lighting will replace defective parts at its expense with new or refurbished parts, and will absorb all expenses for warrant service and repair labor by reason of defects in material or workmanship. The sole responsibility of Eliminator Lighting under this warranty shall be limited to the repair of the product, or replacement thereof, including parts, at the sole discretion of Eliminator Lighting. All products covered by this warranty were manufactured after August 15, 2012, and bear identifying marks to that effect.
E. Eliminator Lighting reserves the right to make changes in design and/or improvements upon its products without any obligation to include these changes in any products theretofore manufactured.
F. No warranty, whether expressed or implied, is given or made with respect to any accessory supplied with products described above. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, all implied warranties made by Eliminator Lighting in connection with this product, including warranties of merchantability or fitness, are limited in duration to the warranty period set forth above. And no warranties, whether expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness, shall apply to this product after said period has expired. The consumer’s and/or Dealer’s sole remedy shall be such repair or replacement as is expressly provided above; and under no circumstances shall Eliminator Lighting be liable for any loss or damage, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product.
G. This warranty is the only written warranty applicable to Eliminator Lighting products and supersedes all prior warranties and written descriptions of warranty terms and conditions heretofore published.

• Non L.E.D. Eliminator Lighting products = 1-year (365 days) Limited Warranty (Such as: Special Effect Lighting, Intelligent Lighting, UV lighting, Strobes, Fog Machines, Bubble Machines, Mirror Balls, Par Cans, Trussing, Lighting Stands etc., excluding lamps
• L.E.D. Eliminator Lighting Products = 2-year (730 days) Limited Warranty (excluding batteries which have a 180 day limited warranty). Note: 2 Year Warranty only applies to purchases within the United States.
• Eliminator Laser Products = 1 Year (365 Days) Limited Warranty (excluding laser diodes which have a 6 month limited warranty)

To guarantee smooth operation, it is important to follow all instructions and guidelines in this manual.
ELIMINATOR LIGHTING is not responsible for injury and/or damages resulting from the misuse of these devices due to the disregard of the information printed in this manual. Only qualified and/or certified personnel should perform  installation of these devices and only the original rigging parts included with these devices should be used for installation. Any modifications to these devices and/ or the included and optional hardware accessories will void the original  manufacturer’s warranty and increase the risk of damage and/or personal injury.
THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE THE PANELS. DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS YOURSELF, AS DOING SO WILL VOID YOUR MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY. • DO NOT operate Panels if any of the Power Ramp or Power Supply cords have become frayed, crimped and/or damaged. Replace any damaged Power Ramps or Power Cords as needed.
• DO NOT remove or break off the ground plug from the Power Supply power cords.
• DO NOT remove or disassemble Panels, as there are NO user serviceable parts inside.
• ALWAYS disconnect Power Supply from main power source before performing any cleaning.
• ALWAYS be sure to install Panels and Power Supplies in an area that will allow proper ventilation.
• ONLY use hardware and accessories which are listed in this guide.
• ALWAYS safely route and secure all Power Supply power cords to prevent a tripping hazard.
• ALWAYS disconnect all Power Supplies during long periods of non-use.
• ONLY use the original packaging and materials to transport these devices for service.
• Panels and Power Supplies should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
  A. Power cords and/or plugs have become damaged.
  B. Heavy objects have fallen onto them.
  C. Exposed to rain and/or dampness/moisture.
  D. They do not operate normally or exhibit a marked change in performance.

MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES

DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE!
CLEANING
Cleaning panel surface is recommended after each use to ensure proper optimized light output and extended life. Clean the panel surface with a soft dry cloth to remove any dust, moisture, or liquid residue. Use glass cleaner to remove any residue or stains.
MAINTENANCE
Regular inspections are recommended to ensure proper function and extended life. There are no user serviceable parts inside these devices. Please refer all service issues to an authorized Eliminator service technician. Should you need  any spare parts, please order genuine parts from your local Eliminator dealer.
Please refer to the following points during routine inspections:

• Detailed review every 3 months to ensure panel shows no signs of damage.
• Check all screws, magnets, and feet are securely tightened at all times. Loose items may fall out during normal transportation, installation, and operation.
• Check for any deformations on the panel surface, ramps, and power supplies which could allow for dust and/or liquid to enter.
• Power supply cables must not show any signs of damage or deformities.

OVERVIEW

Note: Directional arrows are marked on the side of the panels to assist with orientation during assembly. Please see the Installation Instructions section of this manual.
Note: Refer to the Control Panel section of this manual for details regarding the Menu Display and the associated control buttons.
DOCKING MAGNETS
Each panel has built-in docking magnets to assist in assembly and to hold the panels in place once installed.

LIGHTING CIRCUIT PORTS
Each panel has built-in circuit ports located at each corner that connect together via the power connection brackets. These circuit ports transfer power and data signals from panel to panel by way of simple contact, reducing the need to use wires to connect the panels together.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

IP RATING
The panels are IP55 rated. This rating signifies that dust cannot enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the device, and that water projected by a nozzle against the enclosure from any direction shall have  no harmful effects. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RATING APPLIES ONLY TO THE PANELS, AND THAT ANY ASSOCIATED POWER CABLES AND ACCESSORIES ARE RATED FOR USE ONLY IN DRY, INDOOR ENVIRONMENTS. FLAMMABLE MATERIAL WARNING!
Keep device a minimum of 5.0 feet (1.5m) away from flammable material and/or pyrotechnics.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
A qualified electrician should be used for all electrical connections and/or installations.
DO NOT INSTALL THE DEVICE IF YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO SO!
The unit MUST be installed following all local, national, and country commercial electrical and construction codes and regulations.
Before installing or mounting any device, a professional equipment installer MUST be consulted to determine whether the mounting structure or surface is properly certified to safely support the combined weight of the fixture, clamps,  cables, and accessories.
Operating temperature range is -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C). Do not operate this device when ambient temperature is outside of this range.
Allow approximately 15 minutes for the fixture to cool down before servicing.
PANEL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
Panels shown with optional accessories in the following instructions. Please refer to the Optional Accessories section for details.

1. Start by setting up the Panel Power Ramps. Connect all Panel Power Ramps to each other by stringing together both the DMX connections and the power cable connections.
   NOTE: One Panel Power Ramp is required for each column of panels.

2. Connect your row of Panel Power Ramps to both the DMX console and the Power Supply. Plug in the Power Supply and switch it on.

3. Switch on the power for the panel using the power switch on the side, then use the control panel on the underside to configure the panel. Switching on power and configuring the panel must be done prior to installation, as the  controls for these functions will not be accessible once the panel is installed. Each panel contains a small battery to provide power for setup purposes while the panel is not connected to a Power Connection Bracket.
   PANEL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS

4. Slot the feet of the Power Ramps into the Power Connection Brackets. This will hold the Power
   Ramps together and send power and signal from the ramps to the panels. The directional arrows on the Power Connection Brackets indicate the direction of power and data flow, so make sure that one arrow points away from the  power ramp. Then connect a panel to any of the Power Ramps, making sure that the side of the panel with the power switch is facing the Power Ramp. Make sure to slot the feet of the panel into the one of the Power Connection  Brackets connected to the Power Ramp. Check that the directional arrows on the sides of the panels are pointing away from the Power Ramps.
   NOTE: Be sure to leave Power Connection Bracket slots open when installing the them at both ends of the row of Panel Power Ramps. These vacant slots will be used later to install the Panel Dummy Ramps.
   PANEL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS

5. Each subsequent panel in the same column should attach to the side opposite from the power switch side of the panel preceding it, and should be oriented so that the arrows on each side of the panel point directly away from the power supply ramps.

6. The installation procedure for each subsequent panel will follow steps 3 to 6 and should proceed in the direction of power/data flow. When starting a new column, remember to begin with the panel closest to the power supply ramp  and proceed in the direction of power/data flow. Continue in this manner until all panels in your system have been installed, then install the unpowered Dummy Ramps around the edges. See the diagram above for reference.

7. Slot the corner ramps in place at each corner of the panel assembly. It can be helpful to lift both adjacent edge ramps slightly in order to align the corner ramp, the edge ramps, and the connection bracket. Once aligned, the three  ramp pieces should fall easily into place. The fourth corner should be fitted with an inlet corner ramp that contains a slot for the power/data cables.

Panel 1 > Panel 2: Correct. Both panels receive both power and DMX data.
Panel 3 > Panel 4: Incorrect. The top panel is rotated, and connections do not line up with the ramp, and therefore the panel will not receive a signal from the ramp. Any panel(s) installed below the top row will not receive a signal regardless of orientation.
Panel 5 > Panel 6: Incorrect. The top panel is facing the opposite direction of the power and data flow, and therefore the panel will not receive a signal from the ramp. Any panel(s) installed below the top row will not receive a signal regardless of orientation.
NOTE: The actual panels do NOT have arrows on the lighting surface. Instead, the arrows are located along the sides of the panels. In the above drawings, arrows are depicted on the lighting surface solely for the sake of clarity.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The completed installation should resemble the diagram shown below. A four- panel system is depicted as an example, but your system may differ in number of panels.

SYSTEM MENU SAVING SYSTEM MENU SETTINGS: After completing the steps below to configure any of the System Menu settings, press MENU to return to the main menu selection, then continue to press the MENU button until you have completed a full cycle through the menu options (return to Address setting). This step must be completed in order to ensure that the unit remembers the changes you have made after the power has been disconnected.
DMX Mode: Operating through a DMX controller gives the user the freedom to create their own programs tailored to their own individual needs. See the DMX Values & Functions section of this manual for detailed information.
DMX Addressing and Channel Mode: This function will allow you to control each individual fixture’s traits with a standard DMX 512 controller.

1. To run your fixture in DMX mode, press the MENU button until “Addr” is displayed. Press ENTER to show the current DMX address, displayed as “AXXX,” where “XXX” is the current address.
2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select your DMX address, then double press the ENTER button.
3. Press MENU until “Addr” is displayed, indicating that you have returned to the main menu selection.
4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll to “Node”. Press ENTER to enter Channel Mode selection.
5. Use the UP or DOWN button to scroll to your desired DMX Channel Mode (CH03, CH05, CH07 and Ch10), and double press the ENTER button to select.

No DMX Setup: This mode allows the unit to default to one of four modes if the DMX signal is lost or interrupted.

1. To select your NO DMX Mode, press the MENU button until “nodn” is displayed. Press ENTER to configure the No DMX Mode setup.
2. Press the UP or DOWN button to select one of the four options, then press ENTER to select the desired mode.
   • BLACKOUT = “blAc”. The unit will switch all LED’s off if signal is lost.
   • INTERNAL = “Intr”. The unit will default to internal programs when the signal is lost.
   • SETTING = “Sett”. The unit will go to manual settings when the signal was lost.
   • HOLD = “Hold”. The unit will maintain the same settings as before the signal was lost.

Primary/Secondary Mode: This mode allows one panel to control one or more other panels in the system.

1. Press the MENU button until “PRI” or “SECD” is displayed. Press the ENTER button to select the Primary/Secondary Mode setting.
2. To run your fixture in Primary mode, press the UP or DOWN button until “PRI” is displayed, then press the ENTER button to select Primary mode. Please note that only one panel can be set as the “Primary” unit. All other panels in the  system must be set as “Secondary” units.
3. To run your fixture in Secondary mode, press the UP or DOWN button until “SECD” is displayed, then press the ENTER button to select Secondary mode. The “Secondary” unit(s) should now start following the “Primary” unit.
   Note: (If using multiple secondary fixtures, be sure to set additional fixtures to Secondary Mode as well.)

Manual Color Mode: Used to manually control the tone of each individual color.

1. Press the MENU button to cycle through the available color options, which are displayed as “X000” – “X255” where “X” represents the color (R, G, or B) and 000-255 represents the current tone for that color. Press the ENTER  button to select which color you would like to set.
2. Use the UP or DOWN button to set the color tone. Press the ENTER button to accept.
   • R000-R255 = Manually set the Red color tone.
   • G000-G255 = Manually set the Green color tone.
   • B000-B255 = Manually set the Blue color tone.

Color Macro Mode: Used to select from a list of 32 pre-programmed color macros. See the Color Macros section of this manual for detailed information.

1. Press the MENU button until “Coxx” is displayed, where “XX” is a number from 01-32 corresponding to the assigned DMX value of the currently selected color macro. Press the ENTER button to configure the Color Macros Mode.
2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select the value of the desired color macro. Press the ENTER button to accept.

Strobe Effect:

1. Press the MENU button until “SXXX” is displayed, where “XXX” is a value between 000 and 255. Press the ENTER button to select the Strobe effect.
2.  Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust your desired strobe effect between 000-255 then press the ENTER button to select your desired setting.

Total Dimming Effect:

1. Press the MENU button until “TXXX” is displayed, where “XXX” is a value between 000 and 255. Press the ENTER button to select the Total Dimming effect.
2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust your dimming effect between 000-255 then press the ENTER button to select your desired setting.

Other Program Select Mode: There are five additional programs to choose from (Random Program, Color Jumper, Color Gradient, Color Pulse, and Sound Sensitivity).

1. Press the MENU button to cycle through the different programs in the main menu. Press the ENTER button to select the program. The programs are denoted as follows on the screen:
   • Random Program: “Rand”
   • Color Jumper: “CHAG”
   • Color Gradient: “PuSE”
   • Color Pulse: “CHAS”
   • Sound Sensitivity: “Soun”

2. The screen will then display either “Sped” or “Sens” depending on which program is selected. Press the ENTER button again to accept.

3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the speed or sensitivity level of the selected program from 000-255, with 000 being the slowest/least sensitive and 255 being the fastest/most sensitive. Press the ENTER button again to  accept. Do NOT press MENU again to return to the main system menu, as this will take the panel out of the program mode you have just selected.

Reset: Resets the unit to factory settings.

1. Press the MENU button until “REST” is displayed. Press the ENTER button to begin the reset process.
2. Long press the ENTER button to confirm the reset and restore the unit to factory settings.
   Usage Time: Press the MENU button until “Tine” is displayed. Press the ENTER button to view total product usage time and total product power-on time.
   Software Version: Press the MENU button until “S 00” is displayed. Press the ENTER button to view current software version.

DMX ADDRESSING
All devices should be given a DMX starting address when operating with a DMX controller, in order to ensure that the correct device responds to the correct control signal. This digital starting address is the channel number from which the device starts to “listen” to the digital control signal sent out from the DMX controller. The assignment of this starting DMX address is achieved by setting the correct DMX address on the digital control display on the device.
You can set the same starting address for all devices or a group of devices, or set different addresses for each individual device. Setting all devices to the same DMX address will cause all devices to react in the same way. In this case, please  note that changing the settings of one channel will affect all the devices simultaneously.
If you set each device to a different DMX address, each unit will start to “listen” to the channel number you have set, based on the quantity of DMX channels of each device. That means changing the settings of one channel will only affect the selected device.
As an example, when operating a panel in 3-channel mode, you should set the starting DMX address of the first unit to 1, the second unit to 4 (1 + 3), the third unit to 7 (1 + 3 + 3), and so on. (See the chart below for more details.)

LARGE DANCE FLOOR SET UPS

NOTE: Each model power supply supports a specific number of panels. Multiple power supply units are required to support larger dance floor sizes.

ROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS

One or more panels do not illuminate:

• Check if panels are correctly installed and make sure none of the Power Connector Brackets are missing or misaligned.
• Check if the power supply is turned on and receiving power.
• Locate the circuit breaker that the AC outlet the power supply is connected to and confirm it has not been tripped.
• Check if the power cord from the power supply is damaged or cut.
• If none of these solutions work, please contact Eliminator Customer Service.

One or more panels do not respond to DMX:

• Check if panels are correctly installed and make sure none of the Power Connector Brackets are missing or misaligned.
• Check all DMX cables are connected to the correct input and output connectors.
• Check if any of the DMX cables are damaged or cut.

One or more panels do not respond sound:

• Quiet or high-pitched sounds will not activate the panels.
• Confirm panels are all in CH10 DMX Mode and DMX Channel 9 value is set to 211-255.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a fuse that can be replaced on the panel?

No. The panels do not have a replaceable fuse. However, there is a replaceable fuse located on the Power Supply. If the fuse is intact and the system still does not operate, please contact Eliminator customer service.

What is the maximum number of panels that can be linked together?

The maximum number of linkable panels is limited by the total number of panels supported by the power supply used. The system comes with a power supply which can support up to 13 total panels max. If using more panels, a larger and/or multiple power supply(s) is required. See the Optional Accessories section of this manual for details on power supplies to accommodate larger setups.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

PANEL REMOVAL TOOL OVERVIEW
To facilitate the disassembly process, Eliminator offers a Panel Removal Tool (part number MDF368) as an optional accessory. (not included) CAUTION: DURING ASSEMBLY OR DISASSEMBLY, DO NOT SLIDE PANELS INTO OR OUT OF POSITION! THIS MAY RESULT IN EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO PANEL ELECTRONICS! INSTEAD, PANELS SHOULD BE RAISED OR  LOWERED VERTICALLY INTO OR OUT OF POSITION
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
For the sake of clarity, the images that follow depict the use of a single panel removal tool. However, it is recommended to use two (2) panel removal tools in order to minimize the risk of droppage or electronic damage due to the sliding  of panels during removal or installation. Panels are shown with optional accessories. Please refer to the Optional Accessories section for details.

1. Make sure that the Suction Cup Lever is in the upward position.

2. Use the Grip Handle to press the Suction Cup Disc firmly against the lighting surface of the Magnetic Dance Floor Panel and move both Suction Cup Lever to the downward position. The Panel Removal Tool should now be firmly  attached to the Magnetic Dance Floor Panel.
   USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

3. Use the Panel Removal Tool to lower the Magnetic Dance Floor Panel into position, or to lift it out of its installed position.

4. To detach the Panel Removal Tool from the Magnetic Dance Floor Panel, move the suction cup lever to the upward position.
   CAUTION: MAINTAIN A FIRM HOLD ON THE SUCTION CUP LEVER AND LOWER SLOWLY TO THE DOWNWARD POSITION. FLIPPING THE SUCTION CUP LEVER WITHOUT MAINTAINING A FIRM HOLD WILL CAUSE THE LEVER TO SNAP DOWNWARD, WHICH MAY CAUSE THE LEVERS TO STRIKE THE USER’S HANDS OR FINGERS.

5. The Panel Removal Tool can now be removed from the Magnetic Dance Floor Panel.
