Product Usage Instructions
1. Getting Started
Connecting the Base and Handset:
- Plug the telephone line cord into the socket at the rear of the base.
- Connect the power adaptor to the base and then to a wall socket to switch on the power supply.
Charging the Handset:
- Connect the power adaptor to the charger and plug it into a wall socket.
- Insert the provided NiMH rechargeable batteries into the handset following the correct polarity.
- Place the handset on the charger for at least 24 hours for initial charging.
- When fully charged, the icon will appear on the display indicating successful charging.

Q: How long should I charge the handset initially?
A: It is recommended to charge the handset for at least 24 hours continuously for the first time.

A: No, only use the approved rechargeable Ni-MH battery cells supplied with your S12 model (2 x AAA Ni-MH 450mAh rechargeable batteries).

This booklet provides you the quick start information of your S12 digital cordless telephone. For a full explanation of all features and instructions, please refer to the User Guide which can be available as described at the bottom page of this booklet.

Important
Only use the telephone line cord supplied.
If you have purchased a S12 multiple pack you will also have the following additional items:
- Cordless handset and charger
- 2 x rechargeable Ni-MH battery cells
- Power adaptor for the charger
Getting started
Connecting the base and handset
- Plug the telephone line cord into the socket marked on the rear of the base.
- Plug the power adaptor into the socket marke d on the rear of the base and plug the other end into the wall socket. Switch on the power supply.
Connecting the charger and charging the handset
- Plug the power adaptor into the socket marked on the rear of the charger and plug the other end into the wall socket.
- Remove the battery cover from the back of the handset and insert the 2 x AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries supplied. Please note the ‘+’ and ‘-’ markings inside the battery compartment and insert in the correct direction.
- Clip the battery cover back into place.
- If you are charging the batteries for the first time, place the handset on the charger to charge for at least 24 hours continuously.
- When the handset is fully charged , the icon will appear steadily on the display. The display will show the HANDSET name and handset number to indicate that it is registered to the base.
Important
Warning! Use only the approved rechargeable Ni-MH battery cells (2 x AAA Ni-MH 450mAh rechargeable batteries) supplied with your S12.

- During a call, press to increase earpiece volume. When the phone is ringing, press to increase the handset ringer volume. Press to scroll through the menu options, redial list, calls list and phonebook entries.
- D Menu / OK / Mute
- Press to open the menu. Press to select menu options and to confirm a displayed option. During a call, press to turn mute on / off.
- E Talk / Hands-free
- Press to switch hands-free on or off during a call.
- Press to make and receive calls.
- F / Intercom / Pulse to Tone dialling Dial a .
- Used to make internal calls and transfer calls to other C1CB+ handsets registered to the base.
- During a call, press to switch from pulse dialling to tone dialling.
- G Recall
- Use with switchboard / PABX services and some network services.
- H Redial
- In standby mode, press to open the redial list.
- I Phonebook / Delete / Back
- In standby mode, press to open the phonebook menu.
- In editing mode, press to delete characters and digits.
- Go back to the previous menu level.
- J End Call / Exit / Switch Handset on/off
- Press to end a call.
- When viewing the redial / calls list / phonebook or when in the menu, press to exit and return to standby.
- Press and hold for 5 seconds to switch off the handset and single press to switch on the handset.
- K Calls list / Down
- In standby mode, press to open the calls list.
- During a call, press to decrease earpiece volume.
- When the phone is ringing, press to decrease the handset ringer volume.
- Press to scroll through the menu options, redial list, calls list and phonebook entries.
- L Pause / #
- Press and hold to enter a pause (P) when pre-dialling or storing numbers. Dial a #.
- M Keypad lock
- Press and hold to lock and unlock the keypad.
- N Do Not Disturb
- Press to automatically turn on Do Not Disturb.
- Press and hold to enter the call block menu.
- O Microphone
Handset LCD display
In standby mode, press and hold to switch handset idle screen between handset name or time.
- For this feature to work, you must subscribe to Caller ID Service from your network operator. A subscription fee may be payable.
- This feature is dependent on your Network Service provider supporting the service. A subscription fee may be payable
