Installation
Preparation
- Before installation, plan wiring for power cable, network cable, etc. The number of cables depends on the actual networking conditions.
- Please prepare the following tools:
- Electric drill
- Phillips screwdriver
- Marker
- Tape measure
- ESD wrist strap or gloves
- Glue gun
Installation Steps
The following figures are for reference only. The installation method may vary
with scenarios.
Wall Mount
NOTE!
- (Optional) A junction box can be used for wall mount.
- (Optional) A sun shield can be used for a wall mount.
The above accessories should be self-prepared or purchased separately. Please consult your dealer or technical support for the recommended accessories specifications.
- Mount the junction box (skip this step if no junction box). Use the existing junction box embedded in the wall or drill a hole to embed one. The two installation holes on the box should be parallel to the ground during installation. Paste the drill template.
- With junction box: Align the two holes (A) on the drill template with the two installation holes on the junction box. See the left figure below.
- Without junction box:
- Paste the drill template on the wall with the arrow perpendicular to the ground.
- Use a Ø6mm to Ø6.5mm drill bit to drill two 30 mm-depth holes on the A position (be careful not to damage cables in the wall).
- Insert the expansion bolts into the two holes.
- Mount the bracket and sunshield.
- Keep the two snaps on the bracket facing upward and the screw hole at the bottom of the bracket facing outward.
- Tighten the bracket and sunshield.
* With junction box: Align the screw holes of the bracket and sun-shield to those of the junction box, insert round tail cross screws, and tighten them.
* Without junction box: Insert the pointed tail cross screws into the expansion bolts to fix the bracket and sunshield.
- (Optional) Install the Micro SD card.
NOTE!
Please format the Micro SD card before use.
WARNING!
Do not hot-plug the Micro SD card, otherwise the door station or the SD card
may be damaged.
Connect all the cables.
- Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws on the rear panel, and then remove the panel.
- Connect the network cable and other cables to the rear panel correctly, and then lead the cables out from the cable groove.
- Fix the rear panel (with rubber cushion facing inward) onto the door station with screws.
Mount the door station onto the bracket.
- Align the slots on the door station with the two snaps of the bracket, and then insert.
- After the screw hole of the door station is aligned with the bracket hole, insert a Torx socket screw to fix the station and the bracket.
Embedded Mount
NOTE!
- Only metal door station supports embedded mount.
- The embedded bracket will be used for the embedded mount.
(Optional) You can use an embedded sunshield for an embedded mount. Please consult your dealer or technical support for the recommended accessories specifications.
- Fix the embedded bracket (hereinafter referred to as “bracket”).
- Ensure that the wall has enough space to mount the bracket. The bracket size is as follows.
- Lead two screws through the bracket holes to fix the bracket on the wall.
- (Required for sun-shield mount) Mount the rubber plug on the protrusion of the bracket (shown in the figure), which can prevent the tamper-proof button of the door station from continuously sounding due to loosening.
- Loosen the screw at the station’s bottom to separate the front shell from the station.
- (Optional) Insert the sunshield from the rear side of the station. As shown below.
- (Optional) Install the Micro SD card. See Step 4 in Wall Mount for details.
- Connect all the cables. See Step 5 in Wall Mount for details.
- Fix the door station and the sunshield to the bracket.
- Align the three holes of the station with those of the bracket, insert the screws and tighten.
- Insert the screw into the bottom of the station again, and then tighten.
Startup
After the door station is installed correctly, you can use a network cable to connect the station to the PoE power supply or connect one end of the power adapter (user-purchased or prepared) to the power interface of the station and the other end to the main supply.
