NEC RD-480 Projector Remote Control
Important Information
Operating the included remote (RD-480E) English
The remote control (RD-480E) included with this projector is different than
the one described in the User’s Manual.
Please read this manual for how to use this remote control (RD-480E).
NOTE
- The RD-480E can only operate the projector it comes with. Even if the model numbers are the same, the RD-480E cannot be used with any projectors that do not come with an RD-480-E.
Step 1: Check the model number of the projector you are using.

Limitations
- Press the 10 FOCUS and 12 ZOOM buttons to bring up the adjustment screen, and use the buttons to make adjustments.
- For Model A and Model B, the 10 FOCUS and 12 ZOOM buttons will only work when one of the option lenses NP40ZL/NP41ZL/NP43ZL/NP44ML is attached.
- For Models C through F, pressing the 13 VOL./D-ZOOM +/− button does not adjust the volume.
- For Model A, 15 SHUTTER/OSD OPEN/CLOSE buttons (SHUTTER OPEN/CLOSE) are not available. However, hold down the CTL button and press the SHUTTER/OSD OPEN/CLOSE buttons (OSD OPEN/ CLOSE) are available.
- The 16 LIGHT button corresponds to ECO mode or the ECO button in the User’s Manual.
- The 17 Geometric. button corresponds to the 3D REFORM button in the User’s Manual.
- The 18 STATUS button corresponds to the HELP button in the User’s Manual.
- The 22 HDBaseT button corresponds to the NETWORK button in the User’s Manual.
- For model C, pressing the 29 AUX button cycles through BNC(R/G/B/H/V) Input → BNC(CV) Input → BNC(Y/C) Input.
- The remote (RD-480E) for Model A and Model B does not have the following buttons. FREEZE, BLANK, MUTE, AV-MUTE, Edge Blend., Multi., INPUT, PIP, PBP/POP, AUTO ADJ., L-CLICK, RCLICK, PICTURE, DISPLAY, ASPECT, COLOR, 3D Set., SETUP, ECO, INFO
- The remote (RD-480E) for Models C through F does not have the following buttons. INFO/L-CALIB., AV-MUTE, PICTURE, SOURCE, 3D REFORM, PIP/FREEZE, AUTO ADJ., VIDEO, S-VIDEO, VIEWER, NETWORK, ECO/L-SHIFT, LIGHT(button backlight)
How to insert batteries

Open the cover to the battery case on the back of the remote.

Insert AAA alkaline batteries with the + and − ends aligned like in the image.

Return the cover to its original position.
Insert the cover’s grooves into the catches on the case and then close it.
NOTE:
- When replacing the batteries, purchase 2 of the same type of AAA alkaline batteries.
