Congratulations on your purchase of the Aroma® Hot Pot! The Aroma® Hot Pot [Shabu-Shabu] is the perfect way to enjoy a hot pot or shabu-shabu feast at home with family and friends. The two built-in compartments offer the convenience of two flavours in the same pot. Powerful at 1500 watts, it heats the broth fast and evenly. When it’s time to cook your meat, seafood, and vegetables in the broth, the front-facing adjustable power dial gives you easy access to the desired level of temperature adjustments ranging from minimum, warm, low, medium, and high heat. The stainless steel cooking pot is dishwasher safe, so clean-up is a breeze. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Basic safety precautions should always be followed when using electrical appliances:

  1. Important: Read all instructions, before first use.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  3. To protect against fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  5. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.
  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, especially after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact Aroma® customer service for examination, repair or adjustment.
  7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Aroma® Housewares may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
  8. Do not use outdoors.
  9. Do not let the power cord touch hot surfaces or hang over the edge of the counter or table.
  10. Do not place on or near a hot burner or in a heated oven.
  11. Extreme caution must be used when using or moving the appliance while containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  12. Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
  13. Always attach the plug to the appliance first, and then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn control to “MIN” then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  14. Use only on a dry, level and heat-resistant surface.
  15. This appliance should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other operating appliances. If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, this appliance may not operate properly.
  16. This appliance is not intended for deep frying food.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Short Cord Instructions

  1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  3. If a longer extension cord is used:
    • The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
    • The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over unintentionally.
    • If the appliance is of grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord.

Grounding Instructions

This appliance must be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electrical shock. The appliance is equipped with a 3-conductor cord and a 3-prong grounding-type plug to fit the proper grounding-type receptacle. The appliance has a plug that looks like Figure A. An adapter, Figure B, should be used for connecting Figure A plugs to two-prong receptacles. The grounding tab, which extends from the adapter, must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box as shown in Figure C using a metal screw.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Read all instructions and important safeguards.
  2. Remove all packaging materials and check that all items have been received in good condition.
  3. Tear up all plastic bags and dispose of them as they can pose a risk to children.
  4. Wash the stainless steel Hot Pot body and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the surface of the Hot Pot base and heating board with a damp cloth.
  5. Do not immerse the base of the Hot Pot in water or other liquids.

NOTE

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the stainless steel base, cord or plug in water at any time.

To Cook

  1. Before each operation, check for articles on the surface of the heating board, and remove if any are present.
  2. Pour the desired broth (flavoured water) into the hot pot’s body.
  3. Place the Hot Pot body on the heating base and ensure it’s properly in place by turning the body until both surfaces meet snuggly.
  4. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet. The POWER indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Adjust the temperature control dial to the desired temperature. The HEAT indicator light will illuminate. This indicates a proper cooking function.

NOTE
Temperature settings on the adjustable dial range from Minimum, Warm, Low, Medium, to High heat.

CAUTION
The hot pot’s stainless steel cooking surface will get hot; use caution when handling.

TO CLEAN

  1. Wash the Hot Pot body and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  2. Do not immerse the heating base, cord or plug in water or any other liquids
  3. Wipe the surface of the Hot Pot heating base with a damp cloth.
  4. Dry all parts thoroughly. Reassemble for next use.

NOTE
The stainless steel pot and lid are dishwasher safe.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Aroma Housewares Company warrants this product free from defects in material and workmanship for two years from the provable date of purchase in the United States. Within this warranty period, Aroma Housewares Company will repair or replace, at its option,  defective parts at no charge, provided the product is returned, freight prepaid with proof of purchase and U.S. $25.00 for shipping and handling charges payable to Aroma Housewares Company. Before returning an item, please call the toll-free number below for a return authorization number. Allow 2-4 weeks for return shipping. This warranty does not cover improper installation, misuse, abuse or neglect on the part of the owner. Warranty is also invalid in any case that the product is taken apart or serviced by an unauthorized service station. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary from state to state and does not cover areas outside the United States.
