QCS 4.0 R500.1 New Features

QCS 4.0 receives regular updates to improve its ability to monitor Quality Control System performance and system health. The August R500.1 update added the following:

  1. It is now possible to add Optimization Potential to the Monthly Report Summary page. This summarizes opportunities to improve production profits by optimizing supervisory controls to reduce costs, or increase production, based on the last month’s operating data.
  2. Grade change analysis has been improved by adding auto-detection of grade transitions on the Trends and Machine Direction control displays. Detected grade transitions are captured in a pull-down menu. When a transition is selected, trend plots will automatically display data from one hour before, and one hour after the transition.Honeywell-HINTS-Unified-Data-Collector-FIG-3
  3. Users can now select a dark mode for displays to suit their viewing preference.
  4. Interframe alignment tracking is available for systems with multiple scanners. Alignment values are logged and can be visualized on Trends. This paves the way for automatic alerting of scanner misalignment.
  5. Support for non-measurement virtual I/O (VIO) such as analog inputs or remote controller status. All VIO configured on the QCS are included automatically when the system is onboarded to QCS 4.0.
    • If enabled, they can be trended and analyzed using Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT).
  6. Users can save their own sets of trends & profiles for each QCS being monitored. Selected periods, profiles, trends, filters, and sorting are persistent throughout the user’s session.
  7. Eleven new demo videos have been added to the online Training Materials to help users become familiar with working in QCS 4.0 and learning its features.

ES-Assessment Announcement

  • We are announcing the Integrated Automation Assessment (IAA) and System Performance Baseline (SPB) services are being withdrawn from sale, effectively immediately.
  • Simultaneously, we are introducing a new assessment service for Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) and TotalPlantTM Solution (TPS).
  • The new service, Enabled Services Assessment, is an upgraded service for surveying lifecycle, performance, and compliance to Honeywell’s best practice configuration recommendations.
  • This new service will include additional checks and synch up with the latest GTAC-documented audit checks that are not available in IAA.
  • This service is designed to bring you quicker, more cost-effective, and actionable insights for your automation assets.

The new features include:

  • More detailed lifecycle information down to the Experion patch/hotfix level
  • 250+ security checks, including patching, AV status, and compliance to Experion security configuration guidelines
  • More detailed network analysis, including FTE checks
  • Additional server/client and TPS integration audit checks
  • Detailed inventory capture for clients/servers, controllers, I/O, switches, etc.
  • List of product notifications applicable to your inventory

The Benefits of Honeywell’s Enabled Services Assessment:

  1. Swift Results: Say goodbye to waiting weeks for critical insights. Enabled Services Assessments leverage advanced automation to provide you with comprehensive system health results almost immediately after data upload.
  2. Cost Savings: The Enabled Services Assessment not only delivers results faster but also comes at a lower cost ($15,000 per MSID) compared to the current IAA solution (USD 17,365 per MSID).
  3. Automation at Its Best : Our cutting-edge Unified Data Collector (UDC) ensures fully automated data collection, eliminating the need for manual intervention or onsite technicians.
  4. Actionable Insights: An easy-to-read dashboard, powered by Enabled Services, provides you with an overall health scorecard and actionable recommendations vs. a 100+ page pdf document.
    • The dashboard will be provided for a specific time with the ability to export all key information for follow-up actions.
  5. Proactive Maintenance: Optimize expenditures and gain higher value from support services with the Enabled Services Assessment’s proactive maintenance approach.
    • Rather than spending time looking for problems with this automated assessment, you can spend time fixing problems.
    • To learn more about Enabled Services Assessment and how it can transform your automation operations, please contact your Honeywell Account Manager or Field Service leader.

Unified Data Collector – new inventory asset collector for 2023

  • The System Inventory Tool (SIT) data collector has been retired and replaced with the Unified Data Collector.
  • The Unified Data Collector (UDC) is the new method for inventory data collection for TPS and Experion systems. The Unified Data Collector, as the name implies, is a newer approach to combining Honeywell’s various data collection utilities into a single application. The UDC will over time be the single data collector for Asset Data Collection for online contract renewals, Enabled Services, Integrated Automation Assessments, System Performance Benchmarking, Preventative Maintenance Data Collection, and
  • GTAC diagnostic data capture.
  • The Unified Data Collector is installed on an existing system at L3 or L2; it performs asset discovery and agents are deployed to collect the data from the various nodes.
  • This server-based approach simplifies the inventory collection compared to the System Inventory Tool, which was required to be installed on each B Server.
  • The Unified Data Collector is available here (after clicking the link, log in to download).Honeywell-HINTS-Unified-Data-Collector-FIG-7
