EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board

EV-BT680F/E
Evaluation board includes an USB cable for connection to PC. FANSTEL EV-
BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig 1

  • To use a PC to evaluate HCI commands, set SW1 (GPIO 1) to L.
  • Set SW1 to H for stand alone operation.

EV-BT680TA
EV-BT680TA can be used for evaluation of BT680T or BT680TA (Automobile temperature). It consists of main board and USB-UART bridge board. The main board operates in automative temperature range except two white power connectors on the left side. FANSTEL EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig
2After high temperature testing, you may have to solder power supply wires on board if white plastic melt.
To evaluate:

  • Connect USB-UART bridge board to JS2 of main board as shown below.

Download BT680_HCItool files from this webpage and install.

PC Com Port

  • Connect evaluation board to a PC COM port.

  • Check the Device Manager.FANSTEL EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig 4

  • Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge should appear.

  • If not, download the driver from Silicon Labs website.
    https://www.silabs.com/products/developmenttools/software/usb-to-uart-bridge- vcp-drivers

  • Launch Fanstel BH68X HCI tool and scan COM port.FANSTEL EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig 5

  • Select the COM port where BT680/1 is connected.

  • Check reset and make sure there is a Reset OK response.FANSTEL EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig 6

  • The tool support basic HCI commands.

  • The sensor screen allows setting BLE parameters and advertising.FANSTEL EV-BT680F HCI Evaluation Board - Fig 7

Standalone Code Development and Programming

To develop user application codes and program into BT680F modules, you need:
