Use the IEC/EN 62368-1 approved power adaptor that supports higher power consumption than the product. It is highly recommended to use the power adaptor sold by Suprema.

It is recommended to use the enclosure if the product is installed outside.
- The product may malfunction if the water-resistant and dust resistant features are damaged.
Operation
Do not drop the product or cause impacts to the product.

Do not disconnect the power supply while upgrading the firmware of the product.

Do not disclose the password to others and change it regularly.
- This may result in illegal intrusion.
Do not store your product in very hot or very cold places. It is recommended to use your product at temperatures from -35 °C to 65 °C.

When cleaning the product, mind the following.
- Wipe the product with a clean and dry towel.
- If you need to sanitize the product, moisten the cloth or the wipe with a proper amount of rubbing alcohol and gently clean all exposed surfaces including fingerprint sensor. Use rubbing alcohol (containing 70% Isopropyl alcohol) and a clean, non-abrasive cloth like lens wipe.
- Do not apply liquid directly to the surface of the product.
Do not use the product for anything other than its intended use.

Keypad| Used to authenticate by entering the card ID directly. If you want to enter the ID directly, change the authentication method settings in Bio Star 2

- Separates the FC code from the ID when entering the Wiegand card ID
- Used to finish entering.
Only the XPD2-GKDB model supports the keypad.

This document describes cable information based on the shape of the XPD2-MDB
model. The same cable configuration is also used for XPD2-GDB and XPD2-GKDB
models.

Installation
Fixing the bracket and the product
This document describes the installation method using XPD2-MDB model. Install XPD2-GDB and XPD2-GKDB models in the same way

Determine the correct position to install the bracket using the provided drilling template. Fix the bracket firmly using fixing screws through the bracket to the position where X Pass D2 will be installed.
- If installing X Pass D2 on a concrete wall, drill holes, insert PVC anchors, and fix them with fixing screws.
- To avoid RF interference, a minimum separation distance must be maintained. XPD2-MDB

Install X Pass D2 onto the fixed bracket.

Assemble X Pass D2 with the bracket by rotating the product fixing screw.
- When assembling the product with the bracket, you can use the included bracket fixing screw(Star Shaped) instead of the product fixing screw for enhanced security
Power supply connection
X Pass D2 can be used as an RFID card reader by connecting to a master device
or a Core Station
- Use the IEC/EN 62368-1 approved power adaptor that supports higher power consumption than the product. If you wish to connect and use another device to the power supply adaptor, you should use an adaptor with a current capacity which is the same or larger than the total power consumption required for the terminal and another device.
RS-485 connection
- PWR +VDC Red

- 485 TRXP Blue (White stripe)
- Use an AWG24 twisted pair with a maximum length of 1.2 km for the RS-485 cable.
- f connecting with a RS-485 daisy chain, connect the termination resistor (120 Ω)to both ends of the daisy chain connection. If connected to the middle line, the signal level becomes smaller and the communication performance will deteriorate. Make sure to connect it to both ends of the daisy chain connection

Restoring the Factory Defaults
This will reset all settings stored on the device.
- Turn the power on.
- Press the reset button three times quickly.
- hen the green LED is blinking, press the reset button again.
Resetting the baud rate of RS-485
- Turn the power on.
- Press and hold the reset button for more than 2 seconds. When the device change to setup mode, the green LED is blinking.
- Depending on the number of times the reset button was pressed, the baud rate changes. You can recognize the baud rate according to the LED color.

- If you do not press the reset button after changing to the setup mode, the baud rate is set to 115200.
