LOWENERGIE 1739 Surface Mounted Microwave Sensor Switch
Product Information
Specifications
- Power: 1200w
- Type: Surface Mounted Microwave Sensor Switch
- Frequency: 5.8GHz
Description
The 1200w Surface Mounted Microwave Sensor Switch is an active motion detector that utilizes high-frequency electromagnetic waves of 5.8GHz to detect movement in its detection zone. With its advanced microprocessor, it triggers the switch to turn on the light when motion is detected. The sensor is capable of detecting movement through doors, panes of glass, and thin walls.
Product Usage Instructions
Installation
- Ensure the power supply is turned off before starting the installation.
- Select a suitable location for mounting the sensor switch. It is recommended to place it in an area where it has a clear line of sight to the desired detection zone.
- Use the provided screws and wall anchors to securely mount the sensor switch on the desired surface.
- Connect the power supply wires to the corresponding terminals on the sensor switch. Refer to the wiring diagram in the user manual for proper connections.
- Turn on the power supply and test the sensor switch by moving within its detection zone. The light should turn on when motion is detected.
Setting Detection Zone
To optimize the detection performance, you can adjust the detection zone of the sensor switch. Follow these steps:
- Locate the sensitivity adjustment dial on the sensor switch.
- Rotate the dial clockwise to increase the detection range or counterclockwise to decrease it.
- Test the detection zone by moving within the adjusted range. Make necessary adjustments until the desired coverage is achieved.
Additional Notes
- Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor’s line of sight to the detection area.
- Avoid installing the sensor switch near heat sources or in direct sunlight, as it may affect its performance.
- Regularly clean the sensor lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent dust or dirt buildup, which can hinder its detection capabilities.
FAQ
- Q: Can the sensor switch be used outdoors?
- A: The sensor switch is designed for indoor use only. It is not suitable for outdoor installations.
- Q: Can I install multiple sensor switches in the same area?
- A: Yes, you can install multiple sensor switches in the same area to cover a larger detection zone. Ensure that each sensor switch is properly configured and wired.
- Q: What is the maximum distance the sensor switch can detect motion?
- A: The maximum detection range of the sensor switch is determined by various factors such as the environment and sensitivity settings. It is recommended to refer to the product specifications and adjust the sensitivity accordingly for optimal performance.
Please read the instructions fully before attempting installation.
The sensor is an active motion detector, it emits high-frequency
electromagnetic waves of 5.8GHz and receives their echo. The sensor detects
the change in echo from even the slightest movement in its detection zone. A
microprocessor then triggers the “switch light ON” command. Detection is
possible through doors, panes of glass or thin walls.
NOTE: The high-frequency output of this sensor is <10Mw- that is just
100th of the transmission power of a mobile phone or the output of a microwave
oven.

- Fit back plate (see fig. 3)
- Loosen screws on the connection block.
- Connect wires to power according to the connection wire marking
- Tighten the screws on the connection terminal.
- Add the middle section to a base plate (see fig. 3)
- Add top cover and turn it clockwise (see fig. 3) for performing the walk test.
Setting
Light Control Setting
The chosen light response threshold can be chosen from approx. 2-2000lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk–to–dawn operation at about 2 lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select daylight operation at about 2000. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight.
Reach Setting
Reach is the term used to describe the radii of the circular detection zone
produced on the ground after mounting the sensor light at a height of 2.5m,
turn the reach control fully anticlockwise to select minimum reach (approx.3m
radii), and fully clockwise to select maximum reach (approx. 10m radii).
NOTE: the above detection distance is gained in the case of a person who
is between 1.6m~1.7m tall with a middle figure and moves at a speed of
1.0~1.5m/sec. if a person’s stature, figure and moving speed change, the
detection distance will also change.
Time Setting
The light can be set to stay ON for any period between approx. 8sec (turn fully anti-clockwise) and a maximum of 12min (turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapses will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone.
Please note: After the light switches OFF, it takes approx. 1 sec before it can detect movement again. The light will only switch on in response to movement once this period has elapsed.
Connection
- Connect N, and L with power
- Connect N, L’ with load
