Description

The RA-2000/GRAY is an optional 4×40 remote annunciator that can be surface or flush-mounted. The RA-2000 is the red model, while the RA-2000GRAY is the gray model. It is compatible with Honeywell’s Farenhyt Series FACPs.

Installation

Mounting

Flush Mounting

  1. The backbox dimensions are 9.25″ W x 8.375″ H. The minimum depth required is 2″. Mount the backbox using the provided mounting holes.

Surface Mounting

  1. Remove the desired knockout.
  2. Mark and pre-drill a hole in the wall for the center top keyhole mounting bolt. Refer to Figure 2 for mounting hole locations.
  3. Install the center top fastener in the wall with the screw head protruding.
  4. Place the backbox over the top screw, level, and secure.
  5. Mark and drill the left and right upper and lower mounting holes.
  6. Install the remaining fasteners and tighten.
  7. Run wires to the control panel. Refer to Figure 5.
  8. Place the trim ring over the backbox.

Connecting to the Panel

  1. Ensure power is turned off at the panel.
  2. Mount the RA-2000/GRAY in the desired location. See Section 2.1 for mounting instructions.
  3. Connect the RA-2000/GRAY to the panel. Refer to Figure 5 for wiring details.
  4. Use the DIP switches on the back of the RA-2000/GRAY to assign an ID number. Refer to the FACP manual for more information.

Setting the DIP Switches

Address Setting

Each SBUS device requires a unique address. DIP switches 1-6 on S1 are used to set the address. This address will be displayed on the LCD display as the Station ID number. The maximum number of devices that can be connected to the SBUS communication circuit depends on the limitations of the FACP. Refer to the FACP manual for more information. SBUS device addresses do not need to be sequential and can be set to any number between 01 and 63. Note that 00 is not a valid address.

Installation

  1. Ensure power is turned off at the panel.
  2. Mount the RA-2000/GRAY in the desired location. See Section 2.1.
  3. Connect the RA-2000/GRAY to the panel. See Figure 5.
  4. Use the DIP switches on the back of the RA-2000/GRAY to assign an ID number. Refer to the FACP manual.
  5. The RA-2000/GRAY module must be added to the system through FACP programming. JumpStart can be used to automatically add the module or it may be added manually. Refer to the FACP Manual for more information.

Mounting

Flush Mounting

Follow these steps to flush mount the RA-2000/GRAY.

  1. The backbox dimensions are 9.25” W x 8.375” H. The minimum depth required is 2″. Mount the backbox using the mounting holes shown below.
  2. Remove knockouts as needed for wires. There are 10 knockouts available, two on each side and two in the back of the cabinet.
  3. Wire the annunciator board to the main control panel as shown in Figure 5.
  4. Attach the annunciator and door assembly to back box as shown below using the supplied screws.

Surface Mounting

The RA-100TR Red Trim Ring kit and RA-100TG Gray Trim Ring kit are available for use when surface mounting the RA-2000/GRAY.

  1. Remove the desired knockout.
  2. Mark and pre-drill hole in the wall for the center top keyhole mounting bolt. Refer to Figure 2 for mounting hole locations.
  3. Install center top fastener in the wall with the screw head protruding.
  4. Place the backbox over the top screw, level and secure.
  5. Mark and drill the left and right upper and lower mounting holes.
  6. Install remaining fasteners and tighten.
  7. Run wires to the control panel. Refer to Figure 5.
  8. Place the trim ring over the back box as shown below.
  9. Attach the door assembly to the backbox using the screws provided. Refer to Figure 3.

Communication Protocol

DIP switch 7 is used to determine the communication protocol of the RA-2000/GRAY. Set DIP switch 7 to ON for SBUS protocol. This switch must stay in the ON position for proper functionality.

End-of-Line Resistor

The end-of-line termination resistor must be enabled at S1 DIP switch 8 on the last device on the communication circuit. All other annunciators should have these switches set to disable.
