Disassembly Procedures:
To disassemble the DELL U2724DE monitor, follow the steps below:
S1: Turn off power
Before starting the disassembly process, make sure to turn off the power to the monitor.
S2: Unplug external cables
Disconnect the power cable and video cable from the monitor.
S3: Remove the stand
Press the stand release button and lift the stand up and away from the monitor.
S4: Release cables and sensor board
Tear off all tape to release the cables and release the sensor board from the hook of the rear cover.
S5: Release rear cover
Wedge your fingers between the rear cover and the middle bezel on the corners of the top side of the monitor to release the rear cover. Press the middle bezel with one hand and carefully pull up the rear cover in the order indicated by arrows.
S6: Disconnect joystick key cable and sensor cable
After lifting the rear cover, disconnect the joystick key cable and sensor cable from the connectors of the interface board. Then, remove the rear cover.
S7: Remove screws for unlocking the key board
Use a Philips-head screwdriver to remove 2pcs screw for unlocking the key board.
S8: Remove USB board
Use a Philips-head screwdriver to release one screw for unlocking the USB board. Then, release the USB board from the hooks of the middle bezel and remove it.
S9: Remove screws for unlocking the middle bezel
Use a Philips-head screwdriver to remove 13pcs screws for unlocking the middle bezel with the panel.
S10: Disconnect panel lamp and LED cable
Disconnect the panel lamp and LED cable from the connectors.
Release the panel lamp cable from the hook of the middle bezel.
S11: Locate the hooks of the bracket chassis module
Take 1pcs IO cover to locate the hooks of the bracket chassis module as shown in the picture.
S12: Remove middle bezel
Lift up and take away the middle bezel and put it on a cushion foam. Tear off the mylar tape and adhesive tape on the cable to release the LED board from the hook of the middle bezel.
S13: Disconnect EDP cable
Move up the bracket, then push the earing-lock and disconnect the EDP cable away from the connectors of the panel module.
S14: Remove bracket chassis module
Take away the bracket chassis module and put it on a protective cushion.
S15: Remove power board and interface board
Remove the power board and interface board with TBT Board from the bracket chassis carefully. Disconnect all of the cables.
S16: Remove Mylar tape
Remove the Mylar tape from the hooks of the bracket.
S17: Remove electrolyte capacitors
Remove electrolyte capacitors (red mark) from printed circuit boards.
S18: Take out bulk cap.
Take out bulk cap pin solder with a soldering iron and absorber.
S19: Cut the glue
Cut the glue between bulk cap. and PCB with a knife.
S20: Lift the bulk cap.
Lift the bulk cap. up and away from the PCB.
S21: Cut into the bottom of bulk cap.
Cut into the bottom of bulk cap. and pull it up carefully.
