Different types of waffl e batter have different characteristics. Correspondingly, the same browning setting may produce different results for different types of waffl e. The browning setting you choose will depend on your personal taste. Use the settings described above as a starting point. After just a short time using the device, you will have no problems choosing the setting which is best for you.
ATTENTION
- Do not leave the device unattended while in use.
- Attention: the cooking plates will be directly heated as soon as the device is turned on. The device’s surfaces will also become hot; there is a danger of burns! After turning the device on, only touch the handle, control knob, batter overflow container and foot.
- Keep the device closed during the heating process.
Before first use
PLEASE NOTE
IMPORTANT:
When you use your waffl e maker for the first time there may be a slight smell
and some smoke. You should therefore operate the device for at least 5 minutes
at the highest setting without food when fi rst using it. Following this, let
the device cool down with the lid open, then wipe the plates with a soft damp
cloth.
Clean the device as described in the “Cleaning and Care” section.
Operation
- Prepare the desired amount of waffl e batter. See Section 5.3 for a recipe suggestion.
- Plug the power socket into mains power and use the On/Off switch to turn the device on.
- The red baking light will light up.
- Make sure that the device is correctly closed and the side lock (11) is engaged.
- Attach the batter overflow container to the back of the device’s pouring chute.
- Set the device to Setting 5 to heat it up. The device will beep 5 times when it has heated up and the green baking light will turn on.
- Turn the knob to the desired browning setting. We recommend browning setting 3 for the first time you use the device. Depending on the desired degree of browning you can then turn the setting up or down for further waffl es.
- Pour approx. 2 ladles of batter into the pouring chute. The amount of batter will depend on its characteristics. If necessary, adjust the amount of batter for further waffles.
- The green baking light will turn off.
- The waffl e batter will expand inside the device. Excess batter will run into the overflow container and can be used to make the next waffl e.
- Place a cooling rack on the foot to cool cooked waffl es.
- When the waffl e is cooked the device will beep 5 times and the green baking light will turn back on.
- You can remove the cooked waffl e. To do this, press the lock on the side and carefully open the cooking plates using the handle.
- Remove the waffl e carefully and place it on the cooling rack.
- Close the cooking plates again, also using the handle.
- Repeat Steps 7 – 15 to prepare more waffl es.
- When you have prepared the desired number of waffl es, use the On/Off switch to turn off the device and remove the plug from the socket.
- Open the cooking plates and let the device cool down.
PLEASE NOTE
- Make sure that the dough is not too thick and that the dough is poured into the feed chute quickly. Dough that is too thick can clog the pouring chute and if it is fed too slowly, the dough can stick to the pouring chute.
- If excess batter runs into the overflow container, then simply remove the container and use the batter in it to make the next waffl e.
- Do not use metal utensils to remove the waffl es. This could damage the non-stick coating.
