Receive up-to-the-minute weather updates. This convenient handheld AM/FM weather radio receives seven different NOAA weather band channels. It also functions as a standard AM/FM radio for recreational use. The integrated LED flashlight is helpful during power failures or outdoor activities.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Remove the BATTERY COVER (11) from the back of the radio. Install 2 “AAA” alkaline batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment and replace the battery cover.

OPERATION

  • ON/OFF/VOLUME: Turn the radio on/off and adjust the volume with the VOLUME ADJUSTING KNOB (9) on the side of the radio. The POWER INDICATOR LIGHT (3) will activate when radio is powered on.

  • SELECT A NOAA WEATHER BAND CHANNEL: Move the BAND SELECTION SWITCH (8) on the side of the radio to WB (weather band). Use the AM/FM/WB TUNING KNOB (6) on the side to select the NOAA weather band channel with the best reception. Refer to the channels printed on the front of the radio around the tuning dial where it savs CH1-CH7 WEATHER:

    • Channel 1: 162.400MHz
    • Channel 2: 162.425MHz
    • Channel 3: 162.450MHz
    • Channel 4: 162.475MHz
    • Channel 5: 162.500MHz
    • Channel 6: 162.525MHz
    • Channel 7: 162.550MHz
      NOTE: The volume automatically reduces while receiving the NOAA weather band channels. Increase the volume while in the weather band mode if needed.
  • TUNE AM/FM RADIO: Move the BAND SELECTION SWITCH (8) on the side of the radio to AM or FM. Use the AM/FM/WB TUNING KNOB (6) on the side to select an AM/FM station.

  • TELESCOPING ANTENNA: Fully extend the TELESCOPING ANTENNA (1) and place it near a window to receive a steady strong signal and avoid a broken or noisy reception.

  • WHITE LED LIGHT (FLASHLIGHT): When you need a flashlight, hold the LIGHT ON BUTTON (2) to power on the WHITE LED LIGHT (4). The light will show only when the LIGHT ON BUTTON is held. Release the LIGHT ON BUTTON to turn the light off.

  • EARPHONE USE: Plug in a set of 3.5mm earphones (not included) into the 3.5mm EARPHONE JACK (10) to privately listen to the radio.

  • Battery Life: Approx. 12 hours at low volume if the battery capacity is 600MA and approx 24 hours if the battery capacity is 1200MA.

  • AM/FM and Weather Band Selection:
    • 7 NOAA Weather Band Channels: 162.4000 – 162.5500MH
    • AM Stations: 540-1700KHz
    • FM Stations: 88-108 MHz

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

  • Avoid extreme temperature, vibration, and shock to prevent damage to the radio.
  • Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use solvents or scouring that may leave marks on the radio.
  • Do not submerge the radio in water.
  • Immediately remove all low-powered batteries to avoid leakage and damage.
  • Do not try to repair the unit. Opening the casings voids the warranty.

USED BATTERIES
Please help in the preservation of the environment and return used batteries to an authorized depot.

WARRANTY

1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
La Crosse McCormick, LLC warrants that if the accompanying product proves to be defective to the original purchaser in material or workmanship within 1-year from the original retail purchase, La Crosse McCormick, LLC will, at La Crosse McCormick, LLC ‘s option, either repair or replace same without charge (but no cash refund will be made).

  1. Deliver, mail, or ship the defective product, together with the original bill of sale and this limited warranty statement as proof of warranty coverage to:

  2. This warranty is void if any defects are caused by abuse, misuse, negligence, or unauthorized repairs.

  3. Warranty coverage specifically excludes all liability for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND REMEDIES
La Crosse McCormick, LLC shall have no liability for any damages due to loss of profits, loss of use or anticipated benefits, or other incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, this product, whether arising out of contract, negligence, tort or under any warranty, even if La Crosse McCormick, LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages. La Crosse McCormick, LLC’s liability for damages in no event shall exceed the amount paid for this product.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Please follow the procedures below to ensure the radio is properly serviced and returned. Failing to follow the procedures may result in delays or loss of product.

  1. PROOF-OF-PURCHASE: Enclose some form of proof-of-purchase for warranty repair.

  2. RADIO: Enclose the 809-905 Handheld AM/FM Weather Radio.

  3. PROPER PACKING: Pack the radio securely to prevent damage during transit. Use the original packing material if possible.

  4. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Enclose a detailed, written, or typed description of the problem.

  5. CONTACT INFORMATION: Enclose a typed or printed name, address, and phone number where you can be contacted during the day (M- F).

  6. PREPAID / INSURED / TRACEABLE CARRIER: Ship the package with the contents listed above, prepaid and insured by way of a traceable carrier (to avoid loss in transit). The manufacturer is not responsible for units not received if the package has not been properly insured.

  7. REPAIR / EXCHANGE: The radio will be repaired or exchanged upon its receipt if it is under warranty.
    NOTE: If the radio is out of warranty, we will notify you of the repair charge or replacement charge using the contact information that you supply in the package with the radio.

  8. SERVICE TIMELINE: Please allow approximately 2 to 4 weeks for the radio to be serviced under warranty.
