Installing the Monitor
Assembling the Stand Base
To assemble the stand base, follow these steps:
-
Place the stand body on a flat surface.
-
Align the stand base with the stand body and slide it into
place. -
Tighten the screws to secure the stand base.
Using the Cable Holder
The cable holder helps organize and manage cables. To use the
cable holder, follow these steps:
- Attach the cable holder to the back of the monitor.
- Route the cables through the cable holder for a neat and
organized setup.
Detaching the Stand Base
If you wish to detach the stand base, follow these steps:

Remove any cables connected to the monitor.
-
Place the monitor face down on a soft surface to prevent
scratches. -
Remove the screws that secure the stand base to the
monitor. -
Lift the stand base away from the monitor.
Installing onto a Table
To install the monitor onto a table, follow these steps:
-
Place the monitor on a stable and level surface.
-
Align the stand base with the monitor and slide it into
place. -
Tighten the screws to secure the stand base to the
monitor.
Adjusting the Angle
You can adjust the angle of the monitor for optimal viewing
comfort. To adjust the angle, follow these steps:
-
Hold the monitor with one hand and use the other hand to grasp
the top or bottom edge of the monitor frame. -
Gently tilt the monitor forward or backward to the desired
angle.
Using the Kensington Lock
The Kensington lock allows you to secure the monitor to a desk
or other fixed object. To use the Kensington lock, follow these
steps:

Attach the Kensington lock cable to the Kensington lock slot on
the monitor. -
Secure the other end of the cable to a desk or other fixed
object.
Installing the Wall Mount Plate
If you wish to mount the monitor on a wall, follow these
steps:

Remove any cables connected to the monitor.

Place the monitor face down on a soft surface to prevent
scratches. -
Remove the screws that secure the stand base to the
monitor. -
Attach the wall mount plate to the back of the monitor using
the provided screws.
Using the Monitor
Connecting to a PC
To connect the monitor to a PC, follow these steps:

To connect using DisplayPort, follow these steps:

Locate the DisplayPort connector on both the monitor and your
PC. -
Connect one end of the DisplayPort cable to the DisplayPort
connector on the monitor. -
Connect the other end of the DisplayPort cable to the
DisplayPort connector on your PC.
HDMI Connection
To connect using HDMI, follow these steps:

Locate the HDMI port on both the monitor and your PC.

Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the
monitor. -
Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on
your PC.
Connecting to AV Devices
To connect the monitor to AV devices, follow these steps:

To connect using HDMI, follow these steps:

Locate the HDMI port on both the monitor and your AV
device. -
Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the
monitor. -
Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on
your AV device.
Connecting Headphones
You can connect headphones to the monitor for private audio
listening. To connect headphones, follow these steps:
- Locate the headphone jack on the monitor.
- Plug your headphones into the headphone jack.
Installing the LG Monitor Software
Installing The Screen Split
The Screen Split software allows you to divide the monitor
screen into multiple sections for multitasking. To install Screen
Split, follow these steps:

Insert the CD (Owner’s Manual) into your computer’s CD drive or
download the software from the provided website. -
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
Installing The Dual Controller
The Dual Controller software allows you to control multiple
monitors with a single mouse and keyboard. To install Dual
Controller, follow these steps:

download the software from the provided website. -
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
User Settings
Customizing Settings
You can customize various settings on the monitor. To access the
menu settings, follow these steps:

To access the menu settings, follow these steps:

Press the Menu button on the monitor.

Use the joystick button to navigate through the menu
options. -
Press the joystick button to select a menu option.

Adjust the settings as desired using the joystick button.

Quick Settings
Quick settings allow you to quickly adjust commonly used
settings. To access the quick settings, follow these steps:

Adjust the setting as desired using the joystick button.

PBP (Picture-by-Picture)
PBP allows you to display content from two different sources
simultaneously. To use PBP, follow these steps:
- Press the Menu button on the monitor.
- Navigate to the PBP menu option using the joystick button.
- Press the joystick button to select the PBP menu option.
- Select the desired PBP mode from the available options.
- Adjust the settings as desired using the joystick button.
- Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
Picture
The Picture menu allows you to adjust picture-related settings.
To access the Picture menu, follow these steps:

Press the Menu button on the monitor.

Navigate to the Picture menu option using the joystick
button. -

How to Use the Joystick Button
You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the joystick
button or moving it left/right with your finger.
Basic Functions
Power on
Press the joystick button once with your finger to turn on the monitor.
Power off
Press and hold the joystick button once with your finger to turn off the monitor.

Volume Control
You can control the volume by moving the joystick button left/right.
NOTE y The joystick button is located at the bottom of the monitor.

Moving and Lifting the Monitor
When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to prevent the
monitor from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation
regardless of its shape or size.
y It is advisable to place the monitor in the original box or packing material
before attempting to move it.
y Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect the power cord and all
cables.
y Hold the top and bottom of the monitor frame firmly. Do not hold the panel
itself.
CAUTION
y As far as possible, avoid touching the monitor screen. This may result in
damage to the screen or some of the pixels used to create images.
y When holding the monitor, the screen should face away from you to prevent it being scratched.
y If you use the monitor panel without the stand base, its joystick button may cause the monitor to become unstable and fall, resulting in damage to the monitor or human injury. In addition, this may cause the joystick button to malfunction.
y When moving the monitor, avoid any strong shock or vibrations to the
product.
y When moving the monitor, keep it upright, never turn the monitor on its side
or tilt it sideways.

Installing the Monitor
Assembling the stand base
1 Place the screen face down.
CAUTION y To protect the screen from scratches, cover
the surface with a soft cloth.
2 Check the direction of the stand body
(front, back) and then mount the stand body onto the stand hinge. Tighten two
screws into the back of the stand body .

CAUTION Applying excessive force when tightening the screws may cause damage
to the monitor. Damage caused in this way will not be covered by the product
warranty.

Detaching the stand base
1 Place the screen face down. CAUTION
y To protect the screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
2 Remove the screw cover.

3 Remove the two screws on the back of stand
body. As shown in the illustration, disconnect the stand body from the stand
hinge.

CAUTION
y Illustrations in this document represent typical procedures, so they may

y Do not carry the monitor upside down by just holding the stand base. This
may cause the monitor to fall off the stand and could result in personal
injury.
y When lifting or moving the monitor, do not touch the monitor screen.
Applying force or pressure may damage the monitor screen. Instead, hold the
stand body or the plastic frame of the product.

y The components in the illustrations may differ from the actual product.
y Do not carry the monitor upside down, as this may cause it to fall off its
stand and result in damage or injury.
y To avoid damaging the screen when lifting or moving the monitor, only hold
the stand or the plastic cover. This avoids putting unnecessary pressure on
the screen.

Installing onto a table
1 Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an
upright position. Place at least 10 cm away from the wall to ensure sufficient
ventilation.
2 Connect the adapter to the monitor, then plug
the power cord into the power outlet.

3 Press the (Power) button on the bottom of
the monitor to turn it on.

y Unplug the power cord prior to moving or installing the monitor. There is
risk of electric shock.

Adjusting the angle
1 Place the monitor in an upright position, mount-
ed on the stand base.
2 Adjust the angle of the screen. The angle of the
screen can be adjusted forwards or backwards for a comfortable viewing
experience.

y To avoid injury to the fingers when adjusting the screen, do not hold the
lower part of the monitor’s frame as illustrated below.

Using the Kensington lock
The Kensington security system connector is located at the back of the Monitor
set. For more information on installation and usage, refer to the Kensington
lock user manual or visit the website at http://www.kensington.com.
Connect the Kensington security system cable between the Monitor set and a
table.
Installing the wall mount plate
This monitor supports the specification of the standard wall mount plate or
compatible device.
1 Place the screen face down. To protect the
screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
2 Attach the clear sheet to the back of the moni-
tor and align it with the screw holes.
3 Place the wall mount plate onto the monitor
and align it with the screw holes.
4 Tighten the four screws to fix the plate to the
monitor using a screwdriver.

y Use of the Kensington lock is optional. The accessories can be purchased at
your local electronics store.

y The wall mount plate is sold separately. y For more information on
installation, refer to
the wall mount plate’s installation guide. y Be careful not to use excessive

Installing to a wall
Install the monitor at least 10 cm away from the wall and leave about 10 cm of
space at each side of the monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation. Detailed
installation instructions can be obtained from your local retail store. Please
refer to the manual to install and set up a tilting wall mounting bracket.

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting bracket (optional) to the back of the monitor. Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is securely fixed to the monitor and to the wall.
1 If you use screw longer than standard, the monitor might be damaged
internally.
2 If you use improper screw, the product might be damaged and drop from
mounted position. In this case, LG Electronics is not responsible for it.

USING THE MONITOR
Connecting to a PC
y This monitor supports the Plug and Play feature. Plug and Play: A feature
that allows you to add a device to your computer without having to reconfigure
anything or install any manual drivers.
DisplayPort connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor.
Connect your PC to the monitor using the display port cable as illustrated
below. Press the menu button and then select the input option from the input
menu.
HDMI connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your PC and A/V devices to
the monitor. Connect your PC and AV device to the monitor with the HDMI cable
as illustrated below. Press the menu button and then select the input option
from the input menu.

Connecting to AV Devices
HDMI connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your PC and A/V devices to
the monitor. Connect your PC and AV device to the monitor with the HDMI cable
as illustrated below. Press the menu button and then select the input option
from the input menu.
Connecting to External Devices

Connect peripherals to the monitor via the headphones port. Connect as
illustrated.

Installing The Screen Split
Insert the software CD included in the product packaging into your PC’s CD drive and install the Screen Split. The installation screen images are for reference only. The actual installation screen images may vary depending on the model.
1 Set the default Web browser to Internet
Explorer.
3 Follow the instructions to proceed with the
installation.
2 Click the “Screen Split” on the CD’s main
screen. When the file download window appears, click the Run button. (The file
download window may vary depending on the operating system and the Internet
Explorer version, but the installation procedures are same.)
4 Check “I accept the terms of the agreement” on
the License Agreement screen and then click the [Next] button.
CAUTION y Service Pack 1 or higher is required for
Windows 7 & Windows 8.

5 The Screen Split installation starts as shown
below.
6 When the installation is complete, restart your
system.
NOTE
y Screen Split: This program automatically splits the program window as
desired. Monitor Selection only supported in extend display. This program
supported Windows 7 & Windows 8.
NOTE If you run Screen Split, the Screen Split icon [ ] appears in the system
tray at the right bottom of the PC screen.
Right-click the Screen Split icon and select a layout you want.

Installing The Dual Controller
Insert the software CD included in the product packaging into your PC’s CD
drive and install the Dual Controller. The installation screen images are for
reference only. The actual installation screen images may vary depending on
the model.
1 Set the default Web browser to Internet
Explorer.

installation.
2 Click the “Dual Controller” on the CD’s main
screen. When the file download window appears, click the Run button. (The file
download window may vary depending on the operating system and the Internet

the License Agreement screen and then click the [Next] button.

once more to exit the main menu.

1 To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button at
the bottom of the monitor and then enter the Menu.
2 Go to Quick Settings > Brightness by moving the
joystick.
3 Configure the options following the instructions that
appear in the bottom right corner.
4 To return to the upper menu or set other menu items,
move the joystick to or pressing ( / OK) it.
5 If you want to exit the OSD menu, move the joystick
to until you exit.

Menu > Quick Settings Brightness Contrast Volume
Description Adjusts the color contrast and brightness of the screen. Adjusts the volume.
NOTE
y Jog joystick button down ( ) in the Volume menu will enable/disable the Mute function.
Input Ratio
Selects the current input mode.
Adjusts the screen ratio.
Wide
Displays the video in wide-screen, regardless of the video signal input.
Original
Displays a video according to the input video signal aspect ratio.
Cinema 1 Enlarges the screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9. (at 1080p)
Cinema 2
Enlarges the screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9 including the black box area at the bottom for subtitles. (at 1080p)

The aspect ratio is not adjusted from the original.
NOTE
y The display may look the same for Wide, Original options at the recommended
resolution (2560 x 1080).
y The ratio is disabled in the interlaced signal.

1 To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button at
the bottom of the monitor and then enter the Menu.
2 Go to PBP by moving the joystick. 3 Configure the options following the
instructions that
appear in the bottom right corner.
4 To return to the upper menu or set other menu items,
move the joystick to or pressing ( / OK) it.
5 If you want to exit the OSD menu, move the joystick
to until you exit.

Description
Selects the video signal input of the sub screen.
Sound Out have three options:HDMI1, HDMI2, DP.
Toggles between the main screen and sub screen in PBP mode.
Converts the sub screen of PBP mode to the wide screen.
Adjusts the aspect ratio of the main screen or sub screen.
Main Wide
Displays the video to fit the PBP screen, regardless of the video signal input.
Original Displays the video in the aspect ratio of the video signal input on the PBP screen.
Sub Wide
Displays the video to fit the PBP screen, regardless of the video signal input.

Description
Allows the user to adjust each element. The color mode of the main menu can be
adjusted.
Optimizes the screen to view photos.
Optimizes the screen to improve the visual effects of a video.
It is a mode that the screen is adjusted to the best for the newspaper. If you
want screen more bright, you can control brightness in Menu OSD.

Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, Gamma, Color Temp, Black Stabilizer, Response
Time, DAS Mode functions can be customized as Gamer.

The Black Stabilizer value is greater than that of FPS 1. It is suitable for
very dark FPS games.
Game Mode functions are optimized for RTS games.

Black Stabilizer : You can control the black contrast to have better visibility in dark scenes. Increasing the Black Stabilizer value brightens the low gray level area on the screen. (You can easily distinguish objects on dark game screens.) Reducing the Black Stabilizer value darkens the low gray level area and increases the dynamic contrast on the screen.
Adjusts the sharpness of the screen.
Sets the offset level (for HDMI only). y Offset: as a reference for a video
signal, this is the darkest color the
monitor can display.
High
The picture of the screen gets brighter.
Low
The picture of the screen gets darker.
Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on the speed of the screen. For a normal environment, it is recommended that you use Middle. For a fast- moving picture, it is recommended that you use High. Setting to High may cause image sticking.
High
Sets the response time to High.
Middle Sets the response time to Middle.
Low
Sets the response time to Low.
Off
Sets the response time to Off.
Set your own gamma value. : Gamma 0, Gamma 1, Gamma 2 on the monitor, high gamma values display whitish images and low gamma values display blackish images.
Custom Allows the user to adjust each element. The color mode of the main menu can be adjusted.
Warm
Sets the screen color to a reddish tone.
Medium Sets the screen color between a red and blue tone.
Cool
Sets the screen color to a bluish tone.
You can customize the picture color using Red, Green, and Blue colors.
Meets the user requirements for colors through adjusting the color and
saturation of the six colors(Red_Hue, Red_Saturation, Green_Hue,
Green_Saturation, Blue_Hue, Blue_Saturation, CyanHue, Cyan Saturation,
Magenta_Hue, Magenta_Saturation, Yellow_Hue, Yellow_Saturation, Reset ) and
saving the settings.
Hue: Adjusts tone of the screen. Saturation: Adjusts the saturation of the screen colors. The lower the value, less saturated and bright the colors become. The higher the value, the more saturated and dark the colors become.
Returns the color settings to the default settings.

You can enjoy faster game ensuring your commands appear onscreen with-

Turns DAS Mode off.
Turns the power indicator on the front side of the monitor on/off.

The power indicator is automatically turned on.
Off
The power indicator is turned off.
The monitor will automatically switch to standby mode after a certain period.
FreeSync is what gamers have been waiting for a solution that eliminates screen tearing without all the usual lag and latency.

Description Adjusts the color contrast and brightness of the screen.
Contrast Sharpness
Adjusts the sharpness of the screen.
Gamma Color Temp
“Set your own gamma value. : Gamma 0, Gamma 1, Gamma 2 on the monitor, high
gamma values display whitish images and low gamma values display blackish
images. If user don’t want adjusted gamma, user can select Gamma off.”

Nothing is displayed on the screen.
Is the monitor’s power cord plugged y Check if the power cord is correctly plugged in to the power outlet. in?
Is the power indicator on?
y Check the power cable connection and press the power button.
Is the power indicator displaying ? y Check that the connected input is enabled (Menu – Input).
Is the power indicator blinking?
Is the “OUT OF RANGE” message displayed?
Is the “CHECK SIGNAL CONNECTION” message is displayed?
y If the monitor is in sleep mode, move the mouse or press any key on the
keyboard to switch the display on.
y Check if the computer is turned on. y This occurs when signals transferred
from the PC (video card) are out
of the horizontal or vertical frequency range of the monitor. Please see the
“Product Specification” section of this manual to set the appropriate
frequency. y This is displayed when the signal cable between the PC and the
monitor is missing or disconnected. Check the cable and reconnect.
The screen retains an image.
Does image sticking occur even when the monitor is turned off?
y Displaying a still image for a prolonged time may cause damage to the
screen, resulting in the retention of the image.
y Use a screen saver to protect the screen when using the monitor for a
prolonged period of time.
NOTE
y Vertical Frequency: In order to display an image, the screen must be
refreshed dozens of times per second like a fluorescent lamp. The number of
times the screen is refreshed per second is called vertical frequency or
refresh rate and is represented by Hz.
y Horizontal Frequency: The time it takes to display one horizontal line is
called the horizontal cycle. The number of horizontal lines displayed in one
second can be calculated by dividing one by the horizontal cycle. This is
called horizontal frequency and is represented by kHz.

NOTE
y Check if the video card’s resolution or frequency is within the range
allowed by the monitor and set to the recommended (optimal) resolution in
Control Panel > Display > Settings.
y Failing to set the video card to the recommended (optimal) resolution may
result in blurred text, a dimmed screen, a truncated display area or
misalignment of the display.
y The configuration procedure may differ depending on your computer and/or
operating system. Also, some video cards may not support certain resolutions.
If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the computer or video card
for assistance.
y Some video cards may not support the 2560×1080 resolution. If the resolution
cannot be displayed, contact the manufacturer of your video card.
The display color is abnormal. Does the display appear discolored (16 color)?
Does the display color appear unstable or in monochrome?
Are there spots on the screen?
y Set the color to 24 bit (true color) or higher. In Windows, go to Control
Panel > Display > Settings > Color Quality.
y Check if the signal cable is connected properly. Reconnect the cable or
reinsert the PC’s video card.
y When using the monitor, pixilated spots (red, green, blue, white or black)
may appear on the screen. This is normal for the LCD screen. It is not an
error nor is it related to the monitor’s performance.

Proper Posture for Using the Monitor
Adjust the screen so that you can comfortably view at a slight downward angle
from your natural eye level. y Take a break for approximately ten minutes
every hour to reduce any fatigue caused by long-time usage. y The stand of the
touch monitor allows the product to be used in the optimum position. Adjust
the stand angle to obtain the best view of the screen.
