Product Usage Instructions

Connecting the Pedal:
Connect your instrument to the Input Jack of the Ages overdrive pedal using a standard instrument cable. Connect the Output Jack of the pedal to your amplifier or other effects pedals.

Powering the Pedal:
Connect a 9 volt DC power supply with center negative polarity to the power input of the Ages pedal. It is recommended to use an isolated power supply for best performance and to avoid potential noise issues.

Mode Switch:
The Ages overdrive pedal features a Mode Switch with five different modes:

  1. Low gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. This mode provides compressed and smooth tones.
  2. Low gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. This mode offers pushed, open, and sparkly tones.
  3. High gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. This mode delivers increased saturation and tight tones.
  4. High gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. This mode produces saturated, punchy, and big tones.
  5. High gain mode with symmetric silicon hard clipping. This mode provides heavy compression, thick, and chewy tones.
Note: When changing the Mode switch, the other controls on the pedal may behave slightly differently as well. Adjust the volume knob to control the overall output depending on the selected mode.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

INTRODUCTION

For Ages, overdrive has been the one effect vital for so many. It’s used to charge through front lines of the mix and deliver a clear message that won’t soon be forgotten to its loyal listeners. Ages is a massively versatile overdrive machine standing at the ready for any amp and pickup combination that is thrown at it. An overdrive with innovative features that can stand on its own and stack well with other drives. Ages is ready to stand its ground and convey an unforgettable sound.

PRODUCT FUNCTION

  • VOL – The Vol knob sets the overall output volume of the pedal. The Ages has quite a bit of volume on tap so the Volume knob will be helpful to find the sweet spot for interacting with the rest of you rig.
  • DRY – The Dry knob controls the amount of dry guitar signal mixed in with the overdriven signal at the output. With this control at minimum, all dry signal is removed from the output leaving just the overdriven signal. Mixing in some dry signal with the overdrive can increase note clarity and give the drive a more “pushed amp” feel.
  • GAIN – The Gain knob sets the amount of gain applied to your guitar signal passing through the overdrive circuit.
  • BASS – The Bass control allows you to cut or boost low frequencies before they hit the overdrive. This can be helpful for beefing up thinner pickups or cutting the mud produced by some humbuckers. Starting at noon, turn down to remove bass and turn up to add bass.
  • TREB – The Treb control allows you to gently tame the high frequencies of the overdriven signal. Starting at noon, turn down to cut out highs and turn up to allow more highs.
  • MODE SWITCH – The Mode switch is a five-position rotary switch. Each position offers a different combination of internal gain and clipping style employed by the pedal. You can think of each position as a different “flavor” of the pedal. Each position is described in more detail on the next panel.

MODE SWITCH

  1. Low gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. Compressed and smooth.
  2. Low gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. Pushed, open, and sparkly.
  3. High gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. Increased saturation and tight.
  4. High gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. Saturated, punchy and big.
  5. High gain mode with symmetric silicon hard clipping. Heavy compression, thick and chewy.
Note: Since the Mode switch is changing the internal gain and clipping style, the other controls will behave slightly differently as well. You will need to use the volume knob to adjust the overall output up or down  depending on which mode is selected.
