Safety precautions

  • Before connecting the unit to the mains network, ensure that the available line voltage is identical to that specified on the rating plate.
  • Only connect the unit to the line current while it is switched off.
  • Unplug the power plug when not in use.
  • Power cable and power plug must be undamaged. Replace damaged parts immediately.
  • Only professionals may be allowed to make repairs to the electrical system of the unit.
  • Never submerge the unit in liquid!
  • The power plug must be unplugged when the unit is connected to a faucet for cleaning!
  • Do not use hot water for rinsing out and cleaning.
  • The unit is not a toy; keep it away from children.
  • The unit may not be used in workplaces bound by the explosion-protection regulations.
  • Do not point the paint roll or accessories toward yourself; danger of injury by ejected material.

Preparation and mounting

  1. Mounting the paint roll (figure 1): Screw in sealing cap (A) clockwise and hold (B) firmly. Slide on mounted roll body until it engages at (C).
  2. Mount deuteration unit, close air bleed valve (figure 5, B) and connect hoses (figure 2): slide suction hose (A), air bleed hose (B), paint feed hose (C) onto the respective connection pieces until they stop. Slide on screw sleeves and tighten.
  3. Before beginning work, cover or tape up the floor, furniture, door frames and other objects. Place the unit on a sufficiently sized piece of plastic or cardboard.
  4. Stir the paint well and thin up to 10 % if necessary (observe information from manufacturer)
  5. Submerge suction hose with suction filter (figure 3) to the bottom of the paint container and fasten to the paint container edge with clamp.
  6. Open dosage valve at handle. Switch unit on (figure 4). Suction and paint feed hoses and paint roll fill with paint in approx. 2 min. The unit is ready for operation when the first drops of paint emerge. Set the paint feed as required using the dosage valve. When closing the dosage unit, the pump switches off automatically after reaching its maximum pressure.

ATTENTION!
Air in the suction hose or pump area can lead to suction and function interruptions. Ensure that the suction filter is always completely covered with paint. Refill paint in a timely manner, set the paint container at an angle or prepare a new paint container. Switch off the unit before moving the suction hose to a new paint container.

Remedy for sucked-up air

Open air bleed valve (figure 5, A) and let unit run for approx. 1 minute until paint exudes from the air bleed hose. Hold hose over paint container when doing so. Close air bleed valve. If malfunction is still present: repeat procedure.

Breaks during work

Short breaks (up to four hours):

  1. Switch off paint pump and open dosage unit in handle.
  2. Insert paint roll into plastic bag immediately and tie it up airtight (figure 6, A).
  3. Leave suction and air bleed hoses in the paint.

Long breaks (days):

  1. Place paint roll in a bucket of water (figure 6, B).
  2. Wet the paint surface in the paint container with some water to prevent a skin from forming.
  3. Used accessories which are already unscrewed are to be placed into water immediately after use.

Shutting down and cleaning

  1. Scrape off paint roll over the paint container.
  2. Remove paint roll by snapping it from the roller frame and clean it thoroughly separately. Detach the sealing cap of the paint roll with a suitable tool. Detach paint roll and clean all parts in lukewarm water.
  3. Remove suction hose from the paint container and submerge it in a second container filled with water. Hold roller frame above paint container or hang it there. Switch on the unit and pump water up to the roller frame. The remaining paint in the system is pumped back into the paint container.
  4. Switch off the feed pump and unplug the power plug from the outlet!
  5. Wipe paint off suction hose and air bleed hose.
  6. Pull off filter and clean it thoroughly.
  7. Place roller frame with paint feed hose in a second container or sink.
  8. Fit air bleed hose onto cleaning adapter (figure 7).
  9. Open air bleed valve completely (figure 5, A).
  10. Fit cleaning adapter onto faucet and rinse system out until clean water exits at the roller frame – approx. one minute – (figure 12).
  11. Close air bleed valve (figure 5, B).
  12. Slide suction hose onto the cleaning adapter (figure 8).
  13. Fit cleaning adapter onto faucet and rinse system out until clean water exits at the roller frame (approx. one minute).

Cleaning the valve unit

  1. Screw off deuteration unit, remove suction head and pull out valve unit (figure 9).
  2. Thoroughly clean points (figure 10, A + B + C) with a soft brush and water.
  3. Press the valve disk against the seating with a screwdriver and turn left and right. This rubs off any existing paint particles (figure 11).
  4. Before inserting the valve unit, lightly lubricate the seal rings (figure 10, A).

Conservation of the valve unit after assembly

  1. Put a few drops of oil (e.g. sewing machine oil) in the suction connection pieces (figure 2, A).
  2. Cover connection piece for paint feed hose with a towel and switch on paint pump briefly.

ATTENTION:
When storing, always leave the dosage unit in the handle in the open position (figure 4).

Important Note regarding Product Liability!

    devices are assembled and operated correctly.

  • The use of other accessories and spare parts can partially or completely invalidate the liability.

Two-year warrantee

  • The warrantee is valid for two years, starting on the day of sale (receipt).

  • It includes and is limited to elimination of the defect, proven to have been caused by inferior production materials or mistakes during assembly, free of charge or replacement of the defective parts. Use, start-up or do-it-yourself assembly or repairs which are not listed in our operating instructions are not covered by the warrantee. Parts subject to wear are also excluded from the warrantee. The warrantee does not cover commercial use. We reserve the exclusive right to make judgments on warrantee obligations. The warrantee is void if the unit was opened by persons other than WAGNER Service personnel. Transport-related damage, maintenance work and damage and malfunctions caused by improper maintenance work are not covered by the warrantee. For implementation of the guarantee, proof of purchase of the unit must be provided, i.e. submitting the original receipt. To the fullest legal extent possible, we are not liable for any personal, material or consequential damages, especially those resulting from use of the unit other than as intended in the operating instructions, start-up or repair in a manner other than described in our operating instructions or repairs performed by a non-professional. Repairs going above and beyond those dealt with in these operating instructions are reserved for our
    factory.

  • In case of guarantee or repair, please refer to your point of sale.

Warning

  • If the supply cord of this appliance is damaged, it must only be remplaced by a repair shop appointed by the manufacturer, because special purpose tools are required.
  • Warning: Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth terminal of the plug! The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
    • blue = neutral brown = live
  • As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
    • Should the moulded plug have to be replaced, never re-use the defective plug or attempt to plug it into a different 13 A socket. This could result in an electric shock.
    • Should it be necessary to exchange the fuse in the plug only use fuses approved by ASTA in accordance with BS 1362. 5 Amp fuses may be used.
    • To ensure that the fuse and fuse carrier are correctly mounted please observe the provided markings or colour coding in the plug.
    • After changing the fuse, always make sure that the fuse carrier is correctly inserted. With out the fuse carrier, it is not permissible to use the plug.
    • The correct fuses and fuse carriers are available from your local electrical supplies stockiest.
