Operating instructions
46008 Battery Disconnector
WARNING
Read the operating instructions through carefully prior to initial use and
observe all of the safety notes!
Not observing such may lead to personal injury, damages to the device or your
property!
Store the original packaging, the receipt and these instructions so that they
may be consulted at a later date! When passing on the product, please include
these operating instructions as well.
Please check the contents of package for integrity and completeness prior to
use!
PROPER USE OF THE PRODUCT
The battery disconnector disconnects the battery from the power supply, e.g.
for caravans, campervans, motor vehicles, construction machines, boats, etc.
This prevents energy consumption in an unused state and discharge of the
starter battery of longer periods of non-use. Disconnecting the battery from
the power supply safeguards the vehicle against unauthorised use, as a fire
prevention measure and as an emergency stop switch.
This device is not designed to be used by children or persons with limited
mental abilities or without experience and/or lack of required specialist
knowledge. Keep children away from the device. The device is not designated
for commercial use.
Use according to the intended purpose also includes the observance of all
information in these operating instructions, particularly the observance of
the safety notes. Any other utilisation is considered to be contrary to the
intended purpose and may lead to material damages or personal injuries. EAL
GmbH assumes no liability for damage resulting from improper use.

SPECIFICATIONS
Voltage: 12 / 24 V DC
Max. load: 200 A (short-term)
Connector: M10 copper bolts
Installation depth: approx. 35 mm
Distance between poles: 34 mm
Overall height: (screw connector to key) around 110 mm
Ø mounting plate: approx. 60 mm
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- The warning triangle labels all instructions important for safety. Always follow these, otherwise you could injure yourself or damage the device.
- Children may not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision.
- Do not treat packaging material carelessly. This may become a dangerous plaything for a child!
- Only use this product for its designated purpose!
- Do not manipulate or disassemble the device!
- For your own safety, only use accessories and spare parts which are stated in these instructions or which are recommended by the manufacturer!
- Install the battery disconnector in a dry location away from spraying water.
- When not using your vehicle, boat, etc. keep the key in a secure location. This protects your property from unauthorised use.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 OVERVIEW 6.2 INSTALLATION
Attach the battery disconnector to a firm base, wall panel, battery case,
partition wall to the cargo box, steering column or similar. Refer to Figure 2
for the installation dimensions. Ensure there is sufficient space to connect
the cable.
Ensure spacing between the connecting bolts and the metal parts of the
vehicle, such as the bodywork, engine mount, etc.
6.3 CONNECTION
Connect the battery disconnector to the positive pole on the battery and the
positive connector on the consumer, Figure 3.Do not
connect to any consumer with high current consumption, e.g. starter motor.
The battery disconnector is only designed for a short-term current strength of
max. 200 A.
For passenger cars, disconnect the +30 cable, steady plus. Use as short a
cable as possible and always adhere to the wire cross-section. Prior to
installation, ask your workshop whether your vehicle is suitable for
installing the battery disconnector.
Make sure that the connection cable is of sufficient size!
6.4 ACTIVATING THE SWITCH
Switching on: Insert the key into the switch and turn it clockwise until it
locks into place.
Switching off: Tun the key anti-clockwise until it unlocks. Remove the
key from the switch. Store the key in a safe place.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
7.1 MAINTENANCE
If used in accordance with the intended purpose, the battery disconnector is
maintenance-free.
7.2 CARE
Check at regular intervals that the connecting cable is secure.
NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household waste! Electrical and electronic scrap must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner for recycling. Please contact your community or city administration regarding disposal options for electrical and electronic scrap.
