Product Usage Instructions

Opening Cans

  1. Place the electric can opener on a dry, level surface.
  2. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet.
  3. Raise the piercing lever.
  4. Place the rim of the can firmly under the can guide pin and against the geared wheel.
  5. Press the piercing lever all the way down.
  6. The motor will start turning the can and cutting the lid. It is not necessary to hold down the lever.

Cleaning

  1. Unplug the cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. To remove the cutting attachment, raise the piercing lever and gently pull it towards you.
  3. Wash the cutting attachment in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Alternatively, the cutting attachment can be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
  4. Wipe the can opener body and the area behind the cutting head attachment with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the can opener in water.
  5. To reassemble, hold the lever at an angle and slide the cutting head attachment shaft into the hole in the can opener body, then lower the lever.

Helpful Hints

Remember to regularly wash the cutting attachment and geared wheel for proper maintenance and cleaning.

  • A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  • Longer extension cords are available, but care must be exercised in their use. While use of an extension cord is not recommended, if you must use one, ensure that the marked electrical rating of the extension cord is equal to or greater than that of the appliance. If the plug is of the grounded type, the extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. To avoid pulling, tripping or entanglement, position the extension cord so that it does not hang over the edge of the counter, table or other area where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

USING YOUR ELECTRIC CAN OPENER

To open cans:

  1. Place can opener on a dry, level surface.
  2. Plug cord into an electrical outlet.
  3. Raise the piercing lever.
  4. Place rim of can firmly under can guide pin and against the geared wheel.
  5. Press the piercing lever all the way down.
  6. The motor will begin turning the can and cutting the lid. It is not necessary to hold the piercing lever down or to hold the can during the cutting action. Large cans may need to be guided while being opened.
  7. The motor will automatically stop when the can is open.
  8. Remove the can from the opener. Check the contents of the can to make sure no pieces of label or metal shavings may have fallen in. Carefully remove lid from magnetic lid holder.

To sharpen knives:

  1. Place the cutting edge of knife in the knife slot located on the back of the can opener.
  2. Draw the knife blade through the slot several times. Always direct blade away from yourself and others.
  3. Clean knife after sharpening.
    NOTE : Serrated blades should never be inserted into this appliance.

To open bottles:
Hold top of can opener to stabilize the unit. Open bottles slowly to avoid spilling contents.

CLEANING YOUR ELECTRIC CAN OPENER

  1. Unplug cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. To remove the cutting attachment, raise the piercing lever and gently pull it towards you.
  3. Wash the cutting attachment in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly; or the cutting attachment may be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
  4. Wipe the can opener body and the area behind the cutting head attachment with a damp cloth. Never immerse the can opener in water.
  5. To re-assemble, hold the lever at an angle and slide the cutting head attachment shaft into the hole in the can opener body, lower lever.

HELPFUL HINTS

  • If there is a bump, dent, or heavy seam in the rim of the can, open the other end of the can or start cutting just beyond the problem area.
  • To use the cord storage in the back of the opener, push cord in or out as needed.
  • If the piercing lever does not move freely, remove and clean the cutting attachment.
  • Shredded labels, metal shavings, or poor cut can be caused by infrequent cleaning. Wash the cutting attachment and geared wheel regularly.

PRODUCT WARRANTY

Appliance 1-Year Limited Warranty

Focus Electrics, LLC (“Focus Electrics”) warrants this appliance from failures in the material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase with proof of purchase, provided the appliance is operated and maintained in conformity with the provided Instruction Manual. Any failed part of the appliance will be repaired or replaced without charge at Focus Electrics’ discretion. This warranty applies to indoor household use only.
This warranty does not cover any damage, including discoloration, to any non- stick surface of the appliance. This warranty is null and void, as determined solely by Focus Electrics if the appliance is damaged through accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, scratching, or if the appliance is altered in any way.
THIS WARRANTY IS INSTEAD OF ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, PERFORMANCE, OR OTHERWISE, WHICH ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED. IN NO EVENT SHALL FOCUS ELECTRICS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, FORSEEABLE, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS APPLIANCE.
