The low battery indicator is displayed when the AA battery power is low. If the user fails to replace the battery within 21 days, the screen will only show the low battery indicator but maintain all functionality. If the user fails to replace the batteries after an additional 21 days (days 22-42 since first “low battery” display) the set points will change to SS°F(Heating) and 8S°F(Cooling). If the user adjusts these setpoints away from these it will hold for 4 hours then return to either SS°F or 8S°F. After day 42 the batteries must be replaced immediately to avoid freezing or overheating because the thermostat will shut the unit off until the battery is changed.

Battery Information

Important:
High quality alkaline batteries are recommended. Rechargeable batteries or low quality batteries do not guarantee a 1-year life span.

THERMOSTAT OPERATION

Easy to use controls

  1. LCD Display:
    See page 2 for details about this display readout and icons.

  2. Glow in the Dark Light Button:
    The glow-in-the-dark light button will self-illuminate for several hours after exposure to ambient light. This button turns on the display light when pressed.

  3. Fan Key:
    Select ON, AUTO or IAQ. The ON key will run the fan continuously. The AUTO key will cycle the fan on only when the heating or cooling system is on. IAQ will enable IAQ FAN MODE, if programmed.
    A Note About Programmable Fan:
    The programmable fan feature will run the fan continuously during any time period it is programmed to be on. This is the best way to keep the air circulated and to eliminate hot & cold spots in your building.

Caution:
When the battery icon appears replace your AA batteries immediately. Failure to do so may result in your heating and cooling system becoming inoperable.

A Note About Auto Changeover:
If in Auto you have the ability to switch between Auto Heat or Auto Cool by pressing the System key. This can be done once the current mode has reached its set-point. For example: if in Auto Heat, the heat setpoint must be satisfied before the thermostat will allow you to switch to Auto Cool. You can switch out the Auto by holding down the System key. To get back into Auto, you must toggle the System key to Auto.

  1. System Key:
    Selects the operation mode of your HVAC system. Selecting HEAT turns on the heatmode. Selecting COOL turns on the air conditioning mode. Selecting OFF turns both heating and cooling off. Selecting AUTO will turn the HEAT or COOL on as needed. (EM HEAT will appear as an option if operating a heat pump. EM HEAT setting will turn on Emergency Heat)

  2. Temperature Setpoint Buttons:
    Press the buttons to select the desired room temperature.

  3. Menu Keys:
    Use these keys to set up your programming options. Refer to the next page for instructions.

PROGRAMMING THE THERMOSTAT

Set Time
Follow the steps below to set the current time:

  1. Press Menu

  2. Press Set Time
    Day of the week will be flashing.
    Use the key to select the current day of the week.

  3. Press Next

  4. The current hour is flashing.
    Use the key to select the current hour. When using 12-hour time, make sure the correct AM or PM choice is selected.

  5. Press Next

  6. Minutes are now flashing.
    Use the key to select current minutes.

  7. Press Done when completed

Filter Change and other Reminders

If your installing contractor has configured the thermostat to remind you when the air filter needs changed, you will see FILT in the display when your air filter needs changed. FILT will be shown in the display after your system has run long enough to require an air filter change.
Resetting the filter change reminder: When FILT reminder is displayed, you should change your air filter and reset the reminder by holding down the 3rd button from the left side of the thermostat for 3 seconds.

This thermostat also has other maintenance reminders (Humidity Pad, UV lamp, and IAQ Cell), that are reset with the same procedure.

Important:
You will see a TECHNICIAN SETUP option after the MENU key is pressed.
This TECHNICIAN SETUP key is for installer configuration andshould NOT be changed unless you consult your Professional Heating and Air Conditioning Technician.

Keypad Lockout Note:
If appears in display then the keypad is locked. All or some of the keys will not work. Hold the keys for 3 seconds to remove the lock.

Temporary and Permanent Hold Feature

Temporary hold: The thermostat will display HOLD and RUN SCHED on the bottom of your screen when you press the key. If you do nothing, the temperature will remain at this setpoint temporarily for 4 hours. Your program setpoint will then replace your temporary setpoint.
Permanent hold: If you press HOLD key at the bottom of your screen, you will see HOLD appear below the setpoint temperature in the display. The thermostat will now permanently stay at this setpoint and can be adjusted using the keys.
To return to program: Press the RUN SCHED key at the bottom of your screen to exit either temporary or permanent hold.

PROGRAMMING THE THERMOSTAT

Set Program Schedule For Four Time Periods (WAKE,LEAVE,RETURN,SLEEPorOCCUPIED1,UNOCCUPIED1,0CCUPIED2,UNOCCUPIED2)

To customize your 5+1+1 program schedule, follow these steps

Weekday:

  1. Select HEAT or COOL using the SYSTEM key.
    Note: You have to program neat and cool each separately.

  2. Press MENU.

  3. Press SET SCHED. Note: Monday-Friday is displayed and the WAKE/OCC1 icon is shown. You are now programming the WAKE/OCC1 time period for the weekday setting.

  4. Time is flashing. Use the key to make your time selection for ttie weekday WAKE/OCC1 time period. Note: If you want the fan to run continuously during this time period, select ON with the fan to run continuously during this time period, select ON with Sunday:the FAN key. If you want to use IAQ mode during this time period, select IAQ with the fan key.

  5. Press NEXT

  6. The setpoint temperature is flashing. Use the key to make your setpoint selection for the weekday WAKE/OCC1 period.

  7. Press NEXT

  8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for weekday LEAVE/UNOCC1 time period, for weekday RETURN/OCC2 time period, and for weekday SLEEP/UNOCC2 time period.
    Saturday:

  9. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for Saturday WAKE/OCC1 time period, for Saturday LEAVE/UNOCC1 time period, for Saturday RETURN/OCC2time period, and for Saturday SLEEP/UNOCC2 time period.
    Sunday:

  10. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for Sunday WAKE/OCC1 time period, for Saturday LEAVE/UNOCC1 time period, for Saturday RETURN/OCC2time period, and for Saturday SLEEP/UNOCC2 time period.

To customize your 7 day program schedule, follow these steps:

Monday

  1. Select HEAT or COOL using the SYSTEM key. You have to program heat and cool each separately.

  2. Press MENU.

  3. Press SET SCHED.
    Note: Monday is displayed and the WAKE/OCC1 icon is shown. You are now programming the WAKE/OCC1 time period for the monday setting.

  4. Time is flashing. Use the
    key to make your time selection for the Monday WAKE/OCC1 time period. Note: If you want the fan to run continuously during this time period, select ON with the FAN key. If you want to use IAQ mode during this time period, select IAQ with the fan key.

  5. Press NEXT

  6. The setpoint temperature is flashing. Use the key to make your setpoint selection for the Monday WAKE/OCC1 period.

  7. Press NEXT

  8. Repeat steps 4 thru 7 for Monday LEAVE/UNOCC1 time period, for Monday RETURN/OCC2 time period, and for Monday SLEEP/UNOCC2 time period.
    Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Repeat steps 4 thru 7 for the remaining days of the week.

A Note About Auto Changeover:

  1. Select HEAT or COOL using the SYSTEM key.
    Note: You have to program heat and cool each separately.

  2. Press MENU.

  3. Press SET SCHED. Note: Monday-Friday is displayed and the OCCUPIED TEXT is shown. You are now programming the OCCUPIED time period for the weekday setting.

  4. Time is flashing. Use the key to make your time selection for the weekday OCCUPIED time period. Note: If you want the fan to run continuously during this time period, serect ON with the FAN key. If you want to use lAQ mode during this time period, select IAQ with the fan key.

  5. Press NEXT

  6. The setpoint temperature is flashing. Use the key to make your setpoint selection for the weekday OCCUPIED period.

  7. Press NEXT

  8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for weekday UNOCCUPIED time period.

Saturday:

  1. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for Saturday OCCUPIED time period and for Saturday UNOCCUPIED time period.

Sunday:

  1. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for Sunday OCCUPIED time period and for Sunday UNOCCUPIED time period.

To customize your 7 day program schedule, follow these steps:

Monday

  1. Select HEAT or COOL using the SYSTEM key. You have to program heat and cool each separately.

  2. Press MENU.

  3. Press SET SCH ED.
    Note: Monday is displayed and the OCCUPIED text is shown. You are now programming the UNOCCUPIED time period for the Monday setting.

  4. Time is flashing. Use the key to make your time selection for the Monday time period. Note: If you want the fan to run continuously during this time period, select the FAN key. If you want to use IAQ mode during this time period, select IAQ with the fan key.

  5. Press NEXT

  6. The setpoint temperature is flashing. Use the key to make your setpoint selection for the Monday OCCUPIED period.

  7. Press NEXT

  8. Repeat steps 4 thru 7 for Monday UNOCCUPIED time period.
    Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
    Repeat steps 4 thru 8 for the remaining days of the week.
