DR MILLS DM-7441 Electric Coffee Grinder

Dear Customer,

  • Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.
  • Connection to the mains supply Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  • Read all instructions.
  • To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put ( state specific part or parts in question) in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
  • Avoid contacting moving parts.

  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit. Contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
  • Before the first connecting of appliance check that the voltage indicated on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
  • To disconnect the unit from the power supply never pull the cord. Use the plug.
  • To avoid overheating the motor, do not use the appliance more than 30 second.

  • physical, sensory or mental capabilities. or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with theappliance.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
  • Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should
  • be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
  • Take care that neither the housing nor the cable get in touch with hot surfaces such as the hot plates of an electric stove, or with a hot gas flame.
  • Never operate the coffee grinder when ii is empty, i.e. without coffee beans. When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
  • Do not allow the power cord to hang free.
  • No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
  • Before using for the first time
  • Clean the bean container as described in the section Cleaning and care.

Operation

  • Loading the coffee beans
  • Remove the lid of the bean container. Load the beans. The maximum capacity of the bean container is 50 g.
  • Replace the lid and lock it by turning clockwise.
  • Without the lid properly fitted and locked, the appliance cannot be switched on.

Grinding the beans

  • Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
  • Keep the On/Off switch pressed until the ground coffee has reached the desired degree of fineness (after approx. 20-25 seconds).
  • Do not operate the appliance for more than 2 minutes at a lime, as there is a risk of overloading or overheating. Allow the unit to cool down for 10 minutes after each cycle of use. It is then ready for use again.
  • Once grinding has finished, remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before opening the lid.
  • Note: To ensure optimum coffee flavour, only the required quantity of beans should be ground immediately before brewing. Any excess ground coffee should be stored in a suitable air-tight container.

Hint: The coffee grinder is also suitable for grinding nuts and dried spices. When loading with nuts/spices, do not over-fill; ensure that the level stays just below the rim of the stainless-steel container.

Cleaning and care

  • The appliance must be cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Before cleaning the appliance, always remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the housing or the power cord with liquids or immerse them. The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Wipe thoroughly dry afterwards.
  • Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning. Clean the bean container with a damp cloth and wipe dry thoroughly. Caution: Use extreme care when handling the blade.

In case of problems

  • The motor does not start: The grind mechanism is blocked. Remove the plug from the wall socket immediately, free any jammed beans from around the blade area and clean the bean container as described in the section Cleaning and care.
  • Power cord wind-up storage The wind-up power cord storage under the base facilitates limiting the length of the power cord during use and makes ii easy to store the appliance.
