SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE MACHINE
Before using the trimmer, read carefully the GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS LEAFLET enclosed with the machine’s documentation.
Use only bits with shank diameter suitable for the chuck to be used and the
trimmer speed.
Before working on the trimmer itself (change of tools, brushes, etc) move the
switch to the OFF position and disconnect from the mains power supply.
Before fitting the bit, check that it is perfectly secured in the chuck. After
use, do not release the machine from its grips until the bit has come
completely to rest.
The VIRUTEX range bit specifications are specially designed for the features
of this trimmer. It is therefore best to use bits from the wide range
available from VIRUTEX, or ones whose specifications comply with those of
VIRUTEX.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Electrical connection
The power supply voltage must coincide with the details shown on the
specifications plate.
Fitting the bit
Insert into slot A (Fig. 2) the key included with the set of spanners for
locking rotation of the shaft. The spanner is used to loosen nut B. Fit the
required bit into the chuck and carry out the same operation in reverse order.
MILLING HEAD OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Fitting the head and adjusting bit outlet
Insert the head into the machine as shown in the figure (Fig. 2). Turn the
lock nut C until it is in the position which gives the right measurement for
the bit and then tighten it down using the knob.
Setting the support guide and milling height Unlocking the knob E (Fig. 3)
allows the necessary support guide height to be set using knob F. Once set,
relock with knob E.
MAINTENANCE
Brushes and commutator
It is important to change the brushes when they reach a minimum length of 5
mm. Unscrew the black plug from the housing and remove the guide carbon
brushes.
Replace the carbon brushes with original VIRUTEX brushes and check that they
slide smoothly inside their guides.
Screw on the plug which encloses them and leave the machine running for some
15 minutes. If the commutator shows scorching or roughness, it is advisable to
have it repaired by a VIRUTEX technical service centre.
Never use emery paper for this operation.

NOISE AND VIBRATION LEVEL
The noise and vibration levels of this device have been measured in accordance
with European standard EN 60745-2-17 and EN 60745-1 and serve as a basis for
comparison with other machines with similar applications.
The indicated vibration level has been determined for the device’s main
applications and may be used as an initial value for evaluating the risk
presented by exposure to vibrations. However, vibrations may reach levels that
are quite different from the declared value under other application
conditions, with other tools or with insufficient maintenance of the
electrical device or its accessories, reaching a much higher value as a result
of the work cycle or the manner in which the electrical device is used.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish safety measures to protect the user
from the effects of vibrations, such as maintaining both the device and its
tools in perfect condition and organising the duration of work cycles (such as
operating times when the machine is subjected to loads, and operating times
when working with no-load, in effect, not in use, as reducing the latter may
have a considerable effect upon the overall exposure value).
