Thank you for purchasing BT100 Battery Tester. Please take time to read and
understand this User Manual before operating this product.
About
Applying the most advanced conductance testing technology and incorporating
reverse polarity protection, the Battery Tester BT100 will provide the
technician, professional and DIYer, with critical information about battery
health status by identifying battery and charging problems quickly, easily and
accurately.

Compatibility
Refer to the battery label for battery type and CCA values (Cold Cranking
Amp).

Note: If your vehicle battery is not the battery mentioned above and you are not sure about which type it is, please choose Regular Flooded to conduct test, and the error is within 10%.
Cautions
- Use this tester by these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Hazardous results could occur if tool is used for purposes not intended.
- Before testing, make sure the battery terminals are clean. Grease and dust could result in inaccurate test results.
- Wear eye protection when working around batteries.
- Check the insulation layer of the battery clamps is in good condition (no damage, bareness or disconnection) to avoid electric shock.
- Test in a well-ventilated area. Vehicle exhaust contains toxic carbon monoxide.
- Keep hair, hands, and clothing as well as tester leads and cords away from moving blades and belts.
- Keep the tester out of the reach of children.

Operation Introduction
The tool is powered by solely the vehicle battery. Connect the RED ( +)
Positive Battery Clamp to the(+) positive battery terminal, and connect the
BLACK(-) Negative Battery Clamp to the(-) negative battery terminal. Ensure
that the clamps are securely attached to the correct terminals.
The LED Display will display the message below;
Note: If the vehicle battery voltage is to low (<6V), the BTl 00 cannot
be powered on, and the display will not illuminate.
Choose your preferable language;

Battery Test (for 12V battery)
BT100 will test each battery according to the selected actual system standard and rating marked on the battery. -
Before Test
The engine and all other accessory loads must be OFF in order to have accurate results. Turn on the vehicle headlamps for 2-3 minutes until the battery voltage drops back to normal value if the battery is just fully charged. -
Steps

Press the “ENTER” button to display the main menu and select the “1. Battery Test”:

Press and hold the “.&.” or “T” button to select the ” Battery Type” ( specified on the battery rating label ) , then press ” ENTER” to continue.

Press and hold the “.&.” or “T” button to select the correct testing standard ( specified on the battery rating label ), then press ” ENTER ” to continue.

Press and hold the “.&.” or “T” button to select the battery rating values ( specified on the battery rating label).

Press” ENTER” to start the battery test.

Cranking Test

Press the “M” button to display the Main Menu, and select the ” 2. Cranking Test”:

Press” Enter “to initiate “Cranking Test” interface, start the engine according to the prompts.

Charging Test

The engine must beON during test. -
Steps

Press the “M” button to display the Main Menu, and select the “3. Charging Test”:

Press “ENTER” to conduct a “Ripple Test”:

Press” ENTER ” again, or wait for a few seconds for “Charging Test” to initiate:

The screen will display instructions for the technician to press vehicle accelerator to increase RPM to 2500r/min and maintain 2500 r/min for 5 seconds. Press “ENTER” to display the test result:

Note: Tool saves the results of the last test, not all testing data.

The TOPDON Company warrants to its original purchaser that TOPDON products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for 24 months from the date of purchase (Warranty Period). For the defects reported during the Warranty Period, TOPDON will, according to the technical support analysis and confirmation, either repair or replace the defective part or product. -
This limited warranty is void under the following conditions:
Misused, disassembled, altered or repaired by a non-TOPDON technical repair specialist.
Careless handling and violation of operation.
Warnings
- DO NOT place the tester near the engine or exhaust pipe to avoid damage from high temperatures.
- DO NOT smoke, cause sparks, or strike matches near the battery when testing.
- DO NOT remove battery clamps while testing.
- DO NOT put the tester into a highly humid or dusty environment.
- DO NOT disassemble the tester.

Q: Is BT100 able to test vehicle alternator?
A: BT100 can test alternator. -
Q: Will BT100 hold last test results in memory?
A: Yes, it will keep the last test results for data review. -
Q: Is BT100 able to test motorcycle batteries?
A: It can test 12V battery, between 100 and 2000 CCA. If the motorcycle battery is within these values, then yes. -
Q: How to set the CCA range?
A: You can set the data near to the CCA standard number of your battery. -
Q: Can the firmware be updated?
A: BTl 00 is a basic tool, so a firmware update would not be needed. -
Q: Does it test 12V deep cycle batteries?
A: Yes, it does. -
Q: Will this tester work with marine batteries?
A: Yes, it can work with marine batteries. -
Q: Will this accurately load test ATV batteries?
A: Yes, it can accurately load test ATV batteries. -
Q: What does SOH, SOC, and RES mean?
A: The SOH refers to the “State of health”. The SOC is the “State of charge” and the RES is the “resistance value” of the battery.
