Baby Gate Help Guide
Types of Gates
PRESSURE MOUNTED
Pressure mounted gates use tension and wall cups to create a secure fit. Can
fit wider openings using extensions – sold separately and are suitable for
doorways, hallways and more.
HARDWARE MOUNTED
Hardware mounted gates are fixed into place and are great for doorways,
hallways and stairs.
RETRACTABLE
Retractable gates roll into their housing and out of the way when not required
providing a space efficient solution. Perfect for doorways, hallways and
stairs.
CONVERTA® PLAY-PEN GATE
Converta” play-pen gates can be used as Hardware mounted barriers for extra-
wide openings to provide restricted access to areas you want blocked off.
These can also be converted to a play-pens to help provide a secure baby play
space.
Do you need a safety gate?
Be prepared: Even before your child is mobile, plan ahead. It’s a great time to start thinking about installing child safety gates.
Locations
Look at your home’s layout and identify any potential hazards, such as staircases or rooms with items like chemicals or sharp objects. If you have any areas that you want to keep off-limits, such as a home office, bathrooms, laundry rooms or a room with fragile items, a baby gate can help.

Measure your opening
Measure the width of the opening where you intend to install a safety gate and
determine if extensions are required.
For pressure mounted gates, ensure there is adequate space for the tension
bolts; tension bolts should not be extended any further than 6cm.
