ASSEMBLY

1. Install the Soft Jaw Liners (7) on the inside of the left end plate and the moving jaw, maintaining alignment of the holes.
   FigureA.

2. Screw the Handles Q into the base.

3. Attach the Coping Guide ® using (4) Washers and (2) Guide Knobs •

4. Store Stop Pins @ in any of the threaded holes in the jaws when not in use. Figure B.

QUICK-ADJUST KNOB

The Moving Jaw includes a quick-release feature for rapid adjustment of its position.
To ensure a proper grip while holding mate­ rial and to avoid disengaging the Moving Jaw inadvertently, the Quick-Adjust Knob includes a safety lock.

1. To use the quick-release feature, turn the Quick-Adjust Knob counter-clockwise until the thread is flush with the top of the knob.

2. Push down and hold down on the Quick Adjust Knob while you slide it into position.
   Once positioned, release the Quick Adjust Knob. You should feel the threads re-en­ gage.

3. Turn the Quick-Adjust Knob clockwise until it just contacts the Moving Jaw, then turn it counter-clockwise 1/8 turn. If you over-tighten, it will be difficult (if not i possi­ m ble) to make normal adjustments using the knob on the end of the fixed jaw.

END SHAPING LONG WORKPIECE WITH BEARING GUIDED BIT

1. Retract or remove the Coping Guide®·
2. Clamp the workpiece with enough protrusion to avoid hitting the Iron-Grip with the router bit. Figure c.

END SHAPING SHORT WORK- PIECE WITH BEARING GUIDED BIT

1. Thread the Stop Pins CD in a hole location in the jaws that provides sufficient protrusion for the workpiece to prevent contact between the router bit and the Iron-Grip. Figure D.
2. Retract or remove Coping Guide®·
3. Clamp the workpiece so that the back end is touching the Stop Pins (6) and tighten the clamp.
   NOTE : If cutting across the wood grain, a sacrificial piece of scrap wood the same height may be used to avoid tear out on the workpiece.

EDGE SHAPING LONG EDGES

1. Put the Stop Pins CD in a hole location in the jaws of the Base that will allow the workpiece to sit against them and have an appropriate amount of protrusion from the tool. Figure E.
2. If using a bearing guided bit, retract or remove Coping Guide 9.
3. Clamp the workpiece so that the back end is touching the Stop Pins and tighten the clamp.

SHAPING WITHOUT BEARING GUIDED BIT

1. Configure Stop Pins CD for short parts or store them for long parts as described in steps 11-1 , 111-1 and IV-1.
2. Install the Coping Guide •
3. If the height of the Coping Guide must be adjusted, change the position of the Washers to the bottom of the guard or one on either side.
4. Check the height of the Coping Guide against the fence and ensure full contact between the Coping Guide and fence for full length of cut
5. Clamp workpiece in jaws with appropriate amount of protrusion to avoid contact between the router bit and the lron-Grip. Figure F
6. Place the end of the workpiece flush to the router table fence. Then adjust the Coping Guide to also fit flush with the fence, ensuring the end of the material and the fence are 00pla0al. Figure G
7. When routing multiple pieces, hold the Coping Guide flush to the fence while setting the workpiece against the fence and securing the jaws
