Door Preparation

  1. Check the thickness of your door and door frame.
    • Door Thickness: 1.38-1.77 inches (35-45mm)
    • Door Frame Thickness: 4.33 inches (110mm)
  2. Check the open direction of your door.
    • Left Inward
    • Right Inward
    • Left Outward
    • Right Outward
  3. Refer to the provided picture to adjust the direction of the strike plate and latch.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Door Drilling

  1. Check the required backset: 60mm or 70mm.
  2. Align the template along the vertical center line of the single latch at the desired height and tape it to the door.
  3. Mark the holes first, then start drilling.

Step 2: Install Single Latch

The single latch has two backset options: 60mm or 70mm.

  1. Choose the desired backset.
  2. Install the single latch according to the provided map.

Step 3: Confirm Handle’s Direction

Based on the open direction of your door, install the handle’s direction accordingly.

Step 4: Install Outdoor Unit

  1. If applicable, insert the cylindrical sleeve bolt into the door.
  2. Install the outdoor unit on the door.

Step 5: Install Mounting Plate

Make sure the cable passes over the latch.

  1. Install the mounting plate on the door.

Step 6: Install Indoor Unit

  1. Remove the cover of the batteries box.
  2. Insert 4 x AA Alkaline batteries into the indoor unit.

Step 7: Testing the Lock
Test the lock by rotating the back handle and using the provided key.

FAQ

Q: What is the compatible door thickness for this smart lock?
A: The compatible door thickness is 1.38-1.77 inches (35-45mm) for DS02-SL-03-RD and 1.57-2.56 inches (40-65mm) for DS02-SL-04-RD.

Q: How many backset options does the single latch have?
A: The single latch has two backset options: 60mm or 70mm.

Q: What type of batteries does the indoor unit require?
A: The indoor unit requires 4 x AA Alkaline batteries (not included).

Q: How can I test if the lock is working?
A: You can test the lock by rotating the back handle and using the provided key. When the door is locked, the front handle will be turned, but the door will remain locked.

Note:

  1. Before using this lock, please pair the lock with App on your mobile phone.
  2. This lock is equipped with mechanical keys for manual unlocking. Remove mechanical keys from the package and keep them in a safe place and always have access to them.
  3. To power on the lock, 4 x AA alkaline batteries(not included) are required. Non-alkaline and rechargeable batteries ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.
  4. This lock is used outdoors and indoors, it is designed to be exposed to direct sunlight or rain. The waterproof rating: IP65.
  5. The operation of lock has a stand-by time limit of 8 seconds; Without any activity,lock’s keyboard will shut after 8 seconds.
  6. Keep your fingers clean when using this lock.

Installation Instructions

Step 1 According to the map drilling holes on the door

Note:

  1. Check the required backset 2⅞” (60mm) or 2% ” (70mm).
  2. Align the template along the vertical center line of the single latch (D) at the desired height, and tape it to the door.
  3. Mark the holes first, then start drilling.

Step 2 Install the single latch (D).

Note:
The single latch has TWO backset options: 60mm or70mm. To change from 60mm to 70mm, hold the square hole of single latch and move it towards 70mm, taking care not to tilt the square hole.

Step 3 Confirm handle’s direction

For Right-open door, pls install the direction of handle with screws (E) for outdoor unit and indoor unit as below:

Step 4 Install outdoor unit (A) on the door.

Note: Cylindrical sleeve bolt (L) is not a must if your door doesn’t have a hole for it.

Note: Make sure the side with the text “This Side Up” on the square spindle must be upward.

Step 5 Install mounting plate (C).

Note: Cable passes over the latch.

Please select appropriate screws based on the thickness of the door.

Step 6 Install indoor unit (B).

Feartures

  • Safety: There are multiple safety mechanisms within the lock.
    • Auto Lock : After an unlocking, this lock can lock automatically after 5 seconds.
    • Keypad Locked : After 6 failed passcode attempts, the keypad will shut down for 3 minutes before being able to attempt the pin again. Mechanical key and Bluetooth Unlock can be used to unlock in this state.
  • Randomizer: Before you enter your passcode, you can push some random numbers to prevent the passcode from being inferred based on the fingerprints on the frequently pushed numbers and from being seen by anyone nearby.
  • Battery Dead Alarm: If the batteries are running low, the door lock informs you through a specific melody or keypad LED. You can also check the power level on App.
  • Emergency Power Supply: Emergency power supply interface is on the bottom of outdoor unit: When battery is dead, please use a backup battery connect by USB cable or a mechanical key to temporarily unlock the lock. After unlocking, please replace batteries ASAP.
  • Real Time Record: You can check unlock records in real time on your App.

App Operation Guide

App Installation and Registration

  1. Search and download the “TTLock” App from Google play store or Apple store on your phone. Install the App after downloading.
    You can also scan the QR code to download the App.

  2. Register an account with your phone number or email.

Note:

  • The TTLock App only supports Android 4.3 / IOS7.0 version and above.
  • If you have already registered an account, just log in with this account.

Pair the lock with App

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Open the App. Then click icon and click “All Locks”.
  3. Touch the touch screen of the lock to activate keyboard.
  4. Find the lock’s name which starts with “xx_xxx” and click “+” on App.
  5. Rename the name of lock if necessary and click “OK”.

Note:

  • If you can not see the “+” sign when pairing the lock, follow the steps below to reset the lock:
    The reset button is on the backside of back panel under the battery-box. Keep pressing the reset button for about 5 seconds, then voice prompt “Please input initialization passcode”, please input “0000#”. Then you can pair the lock with your App. Remember that your phone must be connected to the internet (3G / 4G / Wifi) when pairing.

  • Once you pair the lock with your account, the device will not be able to link to other accounts, unless you remove the link from the App.

  2. Passcodes
    The passcode can be set as different type: Permanent / Timed / One-time(6 hours) /Erase(24 hours) / Customized / Recurring. All passcodes generated can be sent to those in need by mail and chatting tools. The passcode receiver can unlock the smart lock by entering the passcode manually.   6. Records: View locking and unlocking information to check when and who used it.

  8. Basics: Display the Lock Number, MAC/ID, Battery lever, Lock Name (You can change the name of the lock), Lock Group (The administrator can add multiple locks for group-ing,which is suitable for rental housing. It is more convenient for group management of personnel), Admin Passcode (It is the unlock passcode of the administrator, which can be manually changed to a custom passcode).

  9. Auto Lock: 5s-by-default. Open the App-click Setting, click Auto Lock – set time to 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s, 60s or Custom seconds you need, then click OK. When the setup is completed, it will be automatically locked after unlocking (for example, it will be automatically locked 10 seconds after unlocking if the time is set as 10 seconds).

  10. Lock Sound: High-by-default. You can set the lock sound high or low, also can turn off the lock sound. By turning off, you will not hear the sound from the lock.

  11. Lock Clock: Calibrate time of the lock.

  12. Diagnosis: Analyse the problem of the lock.

  13. Import from another lock: You can import valid eKeys, passcodes, cards from another lock which is on your TTLock App.

  14. Firmware Upgrade: To check whether there is any update version.

  16. Sound: On-by-default, you can manually close it to turn off the sound of App’s operation.

  17. Touch to Unlock: Off-by-default, this function is invalid when the “TTLock” App is closed or running on the background of your phone. When the App is opened and connect within 10 meters from the lock, any family members can unlock the door by pressing any button on lock’s keyboard for at least 2 seconds. It is recommended to close the option if you do not need it.

  18. Lock Users: You can check your lock users here.

  19. Lock Group: The administrator can add multiple locks for grouping, which is suitable for rental housing. It is more convenient for achieving group management of personnel. It can be modified or deleted if not needed.

  20. Transfer locks: This function is used to transfer the administrator rights. Once trans-ferred, you will not the administrator again.

  21. Languages: App system language setting.

  22. Screen Lock: When this function is on, you need to use your fingerprint or password to open the the TTLock App. No need to verify again within 3 minutes.

Operation Instructions for Different Functions

  1. Unlock

  2. Via App: Open the App and click the icon on the interface to unlock.
    (The phone should be within 5 meters from the lock.)

  3. Via Passcode: Enter the passcode and then press “#” to confirm the unlocking.

  4. Via Card: Place the IC card on the middle of the lock’s keyboard to unlock.

  5. Via Fingerprint: Place the finger on the fingerprint sensor area of the lock to unlock.

  6. Via Mechanical Key: Insert the key to unlock.

  7. Unlock in the Room: Manually turn the handle on the back panel to unlock.

  8. Lock

  9. Via App: Open the App, press and hold the lock icon for 2 seconds to lock.
    (The phone should be within 5 meters from the door lock.)

  10. Auto Lock: The lock is set Auto-lock by default. Click the icon on the interface of the lock to enter “Settings”, then click “Auto Lock” to set the auto lock time. The lock will be locked automatically according to the set time after you unlock the lock.

  11. Via the # key: Press and hold the # key on the lock’s keyboard for 2 seconds to lock.

  12. Remote Authorization of ekey
    Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click eKey – click Send eKey – select the eKey type as “Timed” / “Permanent” / “One-time” / “Recurring” – Enter the App account of the recipient – click Send.WellMall-

  17. Remote Authorization of Passcode
    Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click Passcodes – click Generate Passcode – select the type of passcode (Permanent / Timed / One-time /…) – click Generate.

  18. Delete already Sent Passcode by Administrator
    Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click Passcodes – select the passcode that has been sent – delete the passcode. (The phone is required to be connected to Wifi or mobile data network and near the lock).

  19. System Reset
    The lock can be reset by below two methods.

Method 1: Reset on TTLock App
Enter the interface of the lock which you want to reset on App – click Settings- click Delete – enter your App account password – OK

Method 2: Reset by pressing the reset button
The reset button is under the battery box. Keep pressing the reset button for about 5 seconds, then voice prompt “Please input initialization passcode”, please input “0000#”. The smart lock will be restored to factory default settings.

Note: Under initialization mode, the unlocking passcode for testing is 123456.

GATEWAY(Sold Separately)

The Gateway bridges any nearby locks to your local wifi allowing for remote control.

FQA

Q: How to unlock when the battery runs out?

A: Unlock with mechanical key.

  • When the battery is dead, you can use a backup battery connect by USB cable to temporarily unlock the lock.

Q: Can’t unlock with password.

A: Check that the door lock is properly installed. Check battery level

  • Make sure the password is correct and within the validity period
  • Whether the lock has been reset.

Q: Will the door lock still work if I go away for a few months?

A: Yes. However, it is recommended to replace the battery with a new one before leaving, and bring the mechanical key with you just in case.

Q: The lock cannot be unlocked / locked.

A: Check battery level. If the lock cannot be unlocked / locked by mechanical key or knob,please check that the door lock is properly installed.

  • Turn off bluetooth and APP, then turn it back on.
  • Check if the password / card / fingerprint / eKey is within the validity period. You can reset the password / card / fingerprint / eKey if necessary.

Q: How can I reset my TTLock app account if I forgot my password?
A: Open the ttlock lock App, click Forgot password, enter the email address you registered for your ttlock account.

  • Enter a new password, check Get code. You should receive verification code in the email, Enter the verification code to reset your password. Use the new password to signin the account.

Q: Lock configuration failed.
A:  Remove the mechanical key from the cylinder.

  • Check that the door was closed properly or if lock operation was interfered.

Q: I’m unable to open the door from a distance of 10 meters / yards.

A: The app works via a Bluetooth connection, which can be impacted by the environment.

  • For both security and functionality reasons, try moving as close as possible to the lock.”
  • The battery is low, use the emergency power supply for the door.

Q: Can I still use the smart lock when my phone is lost or turn off?

A: Yes. You can still use the traditional physical key or password to lock / unlock the door.

  • Use a new phone to download the App, Sign in your App account with the email or phone number and password. Enter the verification code, then you can use the new phone to unlock the door. Don’t forget to reset the door after you unlock it.

Q: The door won’t lock automatically when I close it.
A: Check the setting of “Auto Lock” or “Passage Mode” on your App: Open your App- the interface of the lock – Settings – Auto Lock / Passage Mode. If Auto Lock is off or Passage Mode is on, the lock will not auto-lock.

  • If the door doesn’t lock automatically when Auto Lock is set, then the lock has been installed incorrectly.
  • The Auto Lock function is not activated when the batteries are completely discharged Check if the batteries are discharged

Q: The App is disconnected from the lock suddenly.
A: Make sure Bluetooth on your phone is turn on, and your phone must be connected to the internet (3G / 4G / Wifi).

Q: Unlock and Lock Delay.
A: Check that the door lock is properly installed.

  • This may be an indication your battery is low; it’s time to change the batteries.

Q: The smart lock has started beeping whenever I lock or unlock the door.
A: This is an indication your battery is low; it’s time to change the batteries.

Important Safeguards

  1. Read all instructions in their entirety.
  2. Familiarize yourself with all warning and caution statements.
  3. Remind all family members of safety precautions.
  4. Always have access to your lock’s standard key.
  5. If using the Lock with the # key or Auto-Lock features, make sure to have your smartphone, passcode or standard key with you to prevent locking yourself out.
  6. Replace low batteries immediately. Preventing Inadvertent Unlocking of Your Door.

WARNING
Failure to follow these safeguards could result in your lock opening inadvertently.

  1. Avoid keeping and storing phones and fobs unnecessarily close to the lock when inside the home.
  2. Restrict access to your lock’s back panel and routinely check your settings to ensure they have not been altered without your knowledge.
  3. Protect the password to your ttlock App and your account.
  4. When sending an eKey, always double-check that you are sending it to the correct recipient.
  5. Protect and restrict access to your smartphone so that your app settings cannot be altered without your knowledge.
  6. When sending eKeys, be aware of the difference between an Admin user and other users in the system. The Admin user can send, disable and delete eKeys.
  7. If your smart phone is lost or stolen, reset your lock. Resetting your smart lock system will restore your lock to factory settings and delete all smart phones and fobs.
