Electromagnetic compatibility (60601-1-2 Ed4)

All the information provided below is derived from regulatory requirements to which manufacturers of electro-medical devices are subject, as defined in standard IEC60601-1-2 Ed4. The medical device complies with the current electromagnetic compatibility standards; however, the user must ensure that potential electromagnetic interferences do not create any additional risks, such as radiofrequency emitters or other electronic devices.
In this chapter, you will find necessary information to ensure the installation and commissioning of your medical device under the best possible conditions in terms of electromagnetic compatibility.
The different cords of the medical device should be kept apart from each other. Certain types of mobile telecommunication devices, such as cell phones, may interfere with the medical device. Therefore, the recommended separation distances in this chapter must be strictly adhered to.
The medical device should not be used near or placed on another device. If this cannot be avoided, it is necessary to verify its proper functioning under the intended conditions of use before any usage. The use of accessories other than those specified or sold by ABEYE as replacement parts may result in increased emissions or decreased immunity of the medical device.

Recommended Separation Distances
The medical device is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment where RF disturbances are controlled. The medical device’s user can help avoid any electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance, depending on the maximum power of the RF transmitting equipment. Portable RF communication devices (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should not be used within 30 cm (12 inches) of any part of the Lexilens® frames, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, the performance of these devices may be affected.

Electromagnetic emissions
The medical device is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment described in the table below. Therefore, the user must ensure that the medical device is used in the environment described below.
