SAFETY WARNINGS DUST EXTRACTION

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
This appliance may only be operated under supervision. Fire and explosion hazard!
Never suck up into the machine any inflammable or explosive solvents, or liquids like petrol, oil, alcohol, thinners, or small particles (such as metal filings or ash) that may be hotter than 60°C – otherwise there is danger of explosion or fire!
You are not allowed to use the appliance in the vicinity of inflammable gases or substances.
Do not point the nozzle, hose or tube at people or animals.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts. Do not put any objects into openings or use with opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything else that could reduce the flow of air.

WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack or charger in fuid or allow a fuid to fow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fuids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach containing products, etc., Can cause a short circuit.
Never break open battery packs and chargers and store only in dry rooms. Keep dry at all times.
Use only System M18 chargers for charging System M18 battery packs. Do not use battery packs from other systems.

SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE

The vacuum cleaners described in this operating manual are suitable for

• commercial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices and rental businesses.
• industrial use, such as e.g. plants, construction sites and workshops.
• for separation of dust with an exposure limit of greater than 1 mg/m³, (dust class L).

The following materials should not be picked up by the vacuum cleaner

• hazardous dusts which belong to the classes M and H

• hot materials (burning cigarettes, hot ash, etc.)

• flammable, explosive, aggressive liquids (e.g. petrol, solvents, acids, alkalis, etc.)

• ah explosive dust (e.g. magnesium or aluminium dust, etc.
  For Dust Class L machines (with type designation -L) following applies:

• The appliance is suitable for picking up dry, non-flammable dust, hazardous dusts with OEL value > 1mg/m³.

• Dust Class L (IEC 60335-2-69)

• The dusts which belong to this class have OEL values > 1mg/m³

• For machines intended for the Dust Class L, the filter material is tested. The maximum degree of permeability is 1% and there is no special requirement for disposal.

• For dust extractors, ensure adequate air change rate L, when the exhaust air is returned to the room.

Besides the operating instructions and the binding accident prevention regulations valid in the country of use, observe recognised regulations for safety and proper use.
Accidents due to misuse can only be prevented by those using the machine.

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
Any other use is considered as improper use. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage resulting from such use. The risk for such use is borne solely by the user. Proper use also includes proper operation, servicing and repairs as specified by the manufacturer.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY AND WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

• Do not use without dust canister and/or filter in place.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not pick up soot, cement, plaster or drywall dust without filter in place. These are very fine particles that may affect the  performance of the motor or be exhausted back into the air.
• This product is suitable for collection of silica dust when used in accordance with these instructions. To reduce the risk of health hazards from other vapors or dust, do not vacuum carcinogenic, toxic or hazardous materials such as asbestos, arsenic, barium, beryllium, lead, pesticides or other health endangered materials.
• Use special care when emptying heavily loaded tanks.
• To avoid spontaneous combustion, empty dust box after each use.
• Do not leave dust extractor unattended when battery pack is installed. Remove battery pack when not in use and before servicing.
• Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything else that may reduce air flow.
• Maintain dust extractor. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the dust extractors operation. If damaged, have the dust extractor repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
• The blowing function is not intended for blowing away deposited dust.

RESIDUAL RISK

Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still impossible to completely eliminate certain residual risk factors. The following hazards may arise in use and the operator should pay special attention to avoid the following:

• Injury caused by vibration. Hold the product by designated handles and restrict working time and exposure.
• Exposure to noise can cause hearing injury. Wear ear protection and limit exposure.
• Injury due to flying debris. Wear eye protection, heavy long trousers, gloves and substancial footwear at all times.
• Inhalation of toxic dusts.

NOTES FOR LI-ION BATTERIES

Use of Li-Ion batteries

Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the appliance before being charged; Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the appliance and safely disposed of. If the appliance is to be stored unused for a
long period, the batteries should be removed.Battery packs which have not been used for some time should be recharged before use. Temperatures in excess of 50°C (122°F) reduce the performance of the battery pack. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine (risk of overheating).
The contacts of chargers and battery packs must be kept clean.
For an optimum life-time, the battery packs have to be fully charged, after use.
To obtain the longest possible battery life remove the battery pack from the charger once it is fully charged.
For battery pack storage longer than 30 days:
Store the battery pack where the temperature is below 27°C and away from moisture
Store the battery packs in a 30% – 50% charged condition
Every six months of storage, charge the pack as normal.

Battery protection for Li-Ion batteries

In extremely high torque, binding, stalling and short circuit situations that cause high current draw, the tool will vibrate for about 5 seconds, the fuel gauge will flash,and then the tool will turn OFF.
To reset, remove the battery pack from the tool and replace it. Under extreme circumstances, the internal temperature of the battery pack could raise too much. If this happens, the fuel gauge will flash until the battery pack cooled down. After the lights go off, the work may continue.

Transporting Lithium Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.
Transportation of those batteries has to be done in accordance with local, national and international provisions and regulations.
The user can transport the batteries by road without further requirements.
Commercial transport of Lithium-ion batteries by third parties is subject to Dangerous Goods regulations. Transport preparation and transport are exclusively to be carried out by appropriately trained persons and the process has to be accompanied by corresponding experts.
When transporting batteries:
Ensure that battery contact terminals are protected and insulated to prevent short circuit.
Ensure that battery pack is secured against movement within packaging. Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leak.
Check with forwarding company for further advice.

WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

Only use the appliance if it is in perfect condition. Never use the dust extractor without a filter, or if the filter is damaged.
Do not use any unsafe work techniques.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
Discard filter elements, filter bags and disposal bags in accordance with the national regulations.

CAUTION: This machine is for indoor use only.
Provide for good ventilation at the working place.
If the machine is not working properly orhas been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, retum it to a service center or dealer.

Dry pick-up

For dry pick-up operation, it is recommended to use the foam filter.
(Single pack, Cat. No 4932 4798 05).
WARNING! Picking up environmentally hazardous materials.
Materials picked up can present a hazard to the environment.
Dispose of the dirt in accordance with legal regulations.
Remove battery before emptying after dry pick-up. Filter: Check the filters. To clean the filter you can shake, brush or wash it. Wait until the filter is dry before re-starting dry pick-up, Dust bag: check bag to ensure the fill factor. Replace dust bag if necessary. Remove the old bag. The new bag Is fitted by passing the cardboard piece wth the rubber membrane through the vacuum inlet. Make sure that the rubber membrane is passing past the heightening at the vacuum inlet.
After emptying: close motor top to the container and secure the motor top with the latches. Never pick up dry matenal without filter fitted in the machine. The suction efficiency of the machine depends on the size and quality of the filter and dust bag. Therefore – use only Onginal filter and dust bags.

Wet Pick-Up Operation
For wet pict up operation, it is recommended to use the foam filter.
(Single pack, Cat. No 4932 4798 06).

1. Remove the battery pack. (See page 6)

2. Remove ALL dirt and debris found in the tank.

3. Remove the high efficiency filter and install the foam filter (See page 12/13 “Removing/Installing the Filter”). Ensure that the float cage remains in place.

4. A float cage shuts off suction when the tank is full. Be sure that  the float is clean and moves freely in the float cage to ensure that the float valve works.

5. Insert the battery pack. 6.Turn on the vacuum and begin pick-up.

6. Turn off the vacuum immediately upon completing a wet pick-up job or when tank is full and ready to be emptied.
   NOTE: If suction shuts off, turn off the vacuum immediately and empty the tank.

7. Remove the battery pack. (See page 6)

8. To empty the tank, raise the hose to drain any excess liquid into the tank.

9. Do not use vacuum inlet to drain contents.

10. Remove motor housing and pour liquid waste into a suitable rain.

11. Clean the interior of the tank and pick-up accessories periodically, more often when used to pick up wet. sticky materials. se warm, soapy water. Do not store vacuum with liquid in tank

Automatic Suction Shut-Off
When picking up liquids, an internal float nses until it seats itself against a seal at the intake of the motor, shutting off suction. When this happens, the motor will develop a higher than normal pitch noise and the suction is drastically reduced. If this occurs, tum off the vacuum immediately. Failure to turn off unit after float nses and shuts off suction will result in extensive damage to the motor. To continue use, empty the liquid waste from the tank.
NOTE: If the vacuum is accidentally tipped over, it could lose suction. Tum off the vacuum and retum it to an upnght position. The float will return to its normal position.

CLEANING

Remove the battery pack before starting any work on the appliance.
(See page 6)
Only carry out maintenance work described in the operating instructions.
The ventilation slots of the device must be kept clear at all times. The detachable parts (include dust collector) should be removed for cleaning.
Clean dust and debris from tool. Keep tool handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool since certain cleaning agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Never use flammable or  combustible solvents around tools.
Depending on the number of running hours — the dust filter should be renewed. Keep the machine clean with a dry cloth, and a small amount of spray polish.
Never spray water on to the upper section of the vacuum cleaner.
Danger for persons, risk of short-circuting.
For user servicing, the machine must be dismantled, cleaned and serviced, as far as is reasonably practicable, without causing risk to the maintenance staff and others. Suitable precautions include decontamination before dismantling, provision for local filtered exhaust ventilation where the machine is dismantled, cleaning of the maintenance area and suitable personal protection.
During maintenance and repair work all contaminated parts that could not be cleaned satisfactorily must be:

• Packed in well sealed bags
• Disposed of in a manner that complies with valid regulations for such waste removal.

The appliance should be regularly inspected by a qualified service technician. For example, check the filters for damage and check the airtightness of the appliance and the proper functionality of the control mechanism.

MAINTENANCE

Use only Milwaukee accessories and Milwaukee spare parts. Should components need to be replaced which have not been descnbed, please contact one of our Milwaukee service agents (see our list of guarantee/service addresses).

Waste battenes, in particular containing lithium and waste electrical and electronic equipment contain valuable, recyclable materials, which can adversely impact the environment and the human health, if not disposed of in an  environmentally compatible manner.
Delete personal data from waste equipment, if any.
