  13. To disconnect, turn unit OFF ( ) and then remove plug from wall outlet.
  14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  15. Lift and open cover carefully to avoid scalding, and allow water to drip into the water reservoir.
  16. Do not place the unit directly under cabinets when operating as this product produces large amounts of steam. Avoid reaching over the product when operating.
  17. Water reservoir may remain hot after unit is turned off.
  18. Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  19. Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in.

  • WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard: This product is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. CAUTION: HOT SURFACE. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.

Before first use: Wash Lid, Poaching Tray, Omelet/Steaming Tray, Egg Holders, and Water Measuring Cup in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Wipe interior of Water Reservoir with a damp, nonabrasive cloth.

How to Make Hard-, Medium-, or Soft-Boiled Eggs

NOTE: Never operate Egg Cooker without water in Water Reservoir, or use a liquid other than water for cooking purposes, since this may damage unit.

WARNING Food Safety Hazard.

Cooking 1–7 large eggs:

  1. Choose up to seven large eggs you want to cook and locate type of cooked egg you want on Water Measuring Cup. Fill with cold water to that line.
    NOTE: This product works best for large eggs. Adjust amount of water for other sizes of eggs.

  2. Pour water into Water Reservoir.
    NOTE: Always use cold water.

  3. Place Egg Holder on top of Base. Fill with up to seven eggs.

  4. Cover with Lid. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button to turn on. Red light will illuminate.
    NOTE: Prepare a bowl of ice water to cool cooked eggs.

  5. Unit will sound when water has evaporated. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button to turn off.
    NOTE: Cooking time may vary depending on number of eggs and desired doneness. Approximate cooking time is up to 18 minutes for seven hard boiled eggs.

  6. Remove Lid. With oven mitts, lift Egg Holder with eggs by handles. Immediately lower Egg Holder into ice water.
    WARNING Burn Hazard. Always use oven mitts to protect hands when opening egg cooker. Escaping steam can burn.

  7. Remove eggs from water when eggs are cooled. Refrigerate eggs or serve immediately.

Cooking 8–14 large hard-boiled eggs:

NOTE: 8–14 eggs not recommended for cooking medium or soft boiled.

  1. Follow steps 1–3 in previous section.

  2. Place Ring onto Base with wider lip up. Place second Egg Holder on Ring and add up to 7 eggs.
    NOTE: 14 eggs are cooked using 25 mL water

  3. Cover with Lid. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button. Red light will illuminate.
    NOTE: Prepare a bowl of ice water to cool cooked eggs.

  4. Unit will sound when water has evaporated. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button.
    NOTE: Cooking time may vary depending on number of eggs and desired doneness. Approximate cooking time is up to 25 minutes for 14 hard boiled eggs.

  5. Remove Lid. Using oven mitts, carefully lift top Egg Holder by handles and lower into ice water. Remove Ring and second Egg Holder. Immediately lower second Egg Holder into ice water.
    WARNING Burn Hazard. Always use oven mitts to protect hands when opening egg cooker. Escaping steam can burn.

  6. Remove eggs from water when eggs are cooled. Refrigerate eggs or serve immediately.

How to Make Poached Eggs

  1. Fill Water Measuring Cup with cold water to Poached Hard, Poached Med or Poached Soft Line.
  2. Pour water into Water Reservoir.
  3. Place Egg Holder on top of Base. Lightly spray Poaching Tray with nonstick cooking spray. Place tray on top of Egg Holder.
  4. Crack 1 large egg into one side of Poaching Tray. Repeat for other side. Tray cooks 2 eggs at once.
  5. Cover with Lid. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button. Red light will come on. Eggs will cook for about 8 to 13 minutes depending on desired doneness.
  6. Unit will sound when water has evaporated and eggs are ready. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button.
  7. Remove eggs. Serve immediately.

How to Make an Omelet

  1. Fill Water Measuring Cup with cold water to 30 mL line for 1-egg omelet or 50 mL line for 2-egg omelet.
  2. Pour water into Water Reservoir.
  3. Place Egg Holder on top of Base. Lightly spray Omelet/Steaming Tray with nonstick cooking spray. Place tray on top of Egg Holder.
  4. Pour egg mixture into Omelet/Steaming Tray and cover with Lid.
  5. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button. Red light will illuminate. 1-egg omelet will cook about 5 minutes; 2-egg omelet will cook about 8 minutes. Unit will sound when water has evaporated and food is ready.
  6. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button.
  7. Remove omelet, fold over, and serve immediately.

How to Use as Steamer

  1. Pour 80 mL cold water into Water Reservoir.
  2. Add 1 cup chopped vegetables to Omelet/ Steaming Tray.
  3. Place Egg Holder on top of Base. Place Omelet/Steaming Tray with vegetables on top of Egg Holder. Cover with Lid.
  4. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button. Red light will illuminate. Vegetables will cook about 5 to 8 minutes. Unit will sound when water has evaporated.
  5. Press ON/OFF ( ) Button.
  6. Serve immediately.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse cord, plug, or base in water or any liquid.

  1. Unplug unit and allow all parts to cool completely.
  2. Wash removable parts in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Poaching Tray and Egg Holder are dishwasher-safe in top rack only. DO NOT use “SANI” setting when washing in dishwasher. “SANI” cycle temperatures could damage your product.
  3. Wipe interior of Water Reservoir with a damp, nonabrasive cloth.
  4. For discoloration of Water Reservoir from water deposits: Cool Egg Maker completely. Pour white vinegar into Water Reservoir and let stand a few minutes. Discard vinegar. Wipe Water Reservoir with a damp, soapy cloth. Wipe Reservoir with a clean, damp cloth and dry.
    NOTE: Using filtered water will help reduce mineral deposits.

Troubleshooting

Eggs are overcooked.

  • Did you use medium or small eggs? This product works best with large eggs. Follow water recommendation for one fewer egg than what you are cooking.

Eggs are undercooked.

  • Not enough water added to Water Reservoir. Add additional water.
  • Did you use extra large or jumbo eggs? This product works best with large eggs.

Eggs are slightly brown on shell after cooking.

  • Different types of water may discolor egg shells. Eggs are safe to eat.

Eggs are difficult to peel.

  • Very fresh eggs can be difficult to peel. It is easiest to peel eggs that have been refrigerated 1 week to 10 days. To peel anegg, crack shell all over by gently tapping egg on a table or countertop. Roll egg between your hands to loosen shell. Then peel off shell, starting at large end. Hold egg under running water or dip it in water to make peeling easier.

Limited warranty

  • This warranty applies to products purchased in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.
