  • R-600a or R-134a is used as a refrigerant. Check the compressor label on the rear of the appliance to see which refrigerant is used for your refrigerator.
  • It is hazardous for anyone other than an Authorised Service Person to service this appliance.
  • Do not drink the liquid which is inside the cool pack although it is not toxic to human body.
  • Do not install the applliance nearby the voltage stabilizer.

Severe warning signs for installation

 Do not plug several appliances into the same multiple power board. The refrigerator should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet which has a voltage rating that matched the rating plate.

  • This constitutes a fire hazard. This appliance should be positioned in such a way that it is accessible to the power plug.

This appliance must be properly grounded

  • Do not use electrical, mechanical devices or any other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Fill the water tank, ice tray, water cubes only with potable water.
  • Do not keep the keys of the refrigerator within the reach of children as there is a possibility of children being locked inside.

  • Bottles should be stored tightly together so that they do not fall out.
  • Do not insert hands, feet or metal objects (such as chopsticks, etc.) into the bottom or the back of the refrigerator.
  • This may result in an electric shock or injury.

 Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the appliance yourself.

  • Do not use any fuse (such as cooper, steel wire, etc.) other than the standard fuse.

If the appliance generates a strange noise, a burning or smell or smoke, unplug the power plug immediately and contact your nearest service center.

Caution Signs for Using

CAUTION

Do not place glass or bottles or carbonated beverages into the freezer.

  • The container may freeze and break, and this may result in injury.

  • There is no need to disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply if you will be away for less than three weeks. But, remove all the food if you are going away for the three weeks or more. Unplug the refrigerator and clean it, rinse and dry.

  • Be careful that your fingers are not caught in.

  • Do not place the food to be frozen in direct contact with food in storage.

  • Do not store fresh fruits and vegetables in chill compartment which goes bad easily at low temperatures

  • Do not exceed the storage time recommended by the food manufacturers for commercially quick frozen food

  • Do not keep vegetable oil in your refrigerator’s door bins. The oil can solidify, making it foul-tasting and difficult to use. In addition, the open container can leak and the leaked oil can cause the door bin to crack. After opening an oil container, it is best to keep the container in a cool and shaded place such as a cupboard or pantry.

  • Examples of vegetable oil: olive oil, corn oil, grape-seed oil, etc.

CAUTION

  • Do not clean the appliance by spraying water directly onto it. Do not spray inflammable gas near the refrigerator.

  • Remove all foreign substances such as dust or water from the power plug terminals and contact points using a dry cloth on a regular basis.

  • For internal and external cleaning use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mind detergent in warm water.

  • Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.
  • When this product contains flammable gas (Refrigerant R-600a), contact your local authority in regard to safe disposal of this product. Cyclopentane is used as an insulation blowing gas.
  • The gases in insulation material require special disposal procedure. Please contact your local authorities in regard to the environmentally safe disposal of this product.
  • Ensure that none of the pipes on the back of the appliances are damaged prior to disposal. Pipes shall be broken in the open
  • When disposing of this or other refrigerator/s, remove the door/door seals, door latch so that children or animals cannot become trapped inside.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not enter and play with the appliance.
  • If trapped inside, the child may become injury and suffocate to death. • Please dispose of the packaging material for this product in an environmentally friendly manner.

Stabilizer Free Rating Condition

  NOTE

  • Stabilizer free means Samsung refrigerator protect compressor against widest voltage fluctuation range given on the label. When tested in standard environment conditions** according to Samsung Internal Standard.
  • Power supply is erratic at most places in India, with voltage fluctuating in both directions (up and down) at many places frequently.
  • These voltage fluctuations can damage appliances, thereby causing them to end much before their normal useful life.
  • So it is better to use Stabilizer if voltage fluctuation range is over than label value.

Follow these instructions carefully to ensure a proper installation of this refrigerator and to prevent accidents before using it.

  • Use the refrigerator only for its intended purpose as described in this manual.
  • Any servicing must be performed by a qualified technician.
  • Dispose of the product packaging material in compliance with the local regulations.

To get more space, you can remove cool pack(s) which can be removed without aid of a tool. It does not affect thermal and mechanical characteristics.

A declared storage volume is calculated with cool pack(s) removed.

  • These optional accessories do not affect thermal and mechanical performance.
  • A declared storage volume of the freezer is based on the nonexistence of those optional accessories.
  • For best energy efficiency, make sure all of shelves, drawers, and baskets are placed in their original position.

Step by Step Installation

STEP 1 Select a site

Site requirements

  • Solid, level surface without carpeting or flooring that may obstruct ventilation
  • Away from direct sunlight
  • Adequate room for opening and closing the door
  • Away from a heat source
  • Room for maintenance and servicing
  • Temperature range: between 10 °C and 43 °C

NOTE

The cooling performance and power consumption of the refrigerator may be affected by the ambient temperature, the door-opening frequency, and the location of the refrigerator. We recommend adjusting the temperature settings as appropriate.

NOTE
Each measurement based on the design dimension, so it may differ depending on the measuring method.
Dimensions

CAUTION
Please tie up the extra length of the power cord at the back of the refrigerator so as not to be touched on the floor preventing the power cord from being crushed by the rollers upon upon relocation.

STEP 2 Flooring
Flooring

  • The surface to install the refrigerator must support a fully loaded refrigerator.
  • To protect the floor, put a large piece of cardboard on each leg of the refrigerator.
  • Once the refrigerator is in its final position, do not move it unless necessary to protect the floor.
    If you have to, use a thick paper or cloth such as old carpets along the movement path.

**STEP 3 Adjust The Levelling Feet

** Level the refrigerator by manually adjusting the levelling feet. Turn the levelling feet clockwise to lower the position, or turn counter clockwise to raise. For safety reasons, adjust the front side a little higher than the rear side.

Don’t use stand to avoid noise and leveling issue.

NOTE
This model does not allow for adjusting the front right foot that is fixed. Use the front left foot for levelling.

**Step 4 Attach the door Support (RR20 Non Stand table models only

**

  1. Tilt the refrigerator backward, and have one person hold the refrigerator from the back.
  2. The other person inserts the door support (A) into the bottom hole of the door.
  3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screw.

To prevent the refrigerator from falling or shaking while it is operating or when the door bin is fully loaded but the fridge is empty, follow these instructions to attach the door support (A). This work must be done by two persons.

CAUTION
To avoid personal injury or product damage from a fall or scratch, use caution throughout the entire process.

STEP 5 Initial Settings

By completing the following steps, the refrigerator should be fully functioning.

  1. Plug the power cord into the wall socket to turn the refrigerator on.
  2. Open the door, and check if the interior light lights up.
  3. Set the temperature to the coldest, and wait for about an hour.
  4. Wait until the refrigerator reaches the set temperature. Now the refrigerator is ready for use.

STEP 6 Final check

When installation is complete, confirm that:

  • The refrigerator is plugged into an electrical outlet and grounded properly.
  • The refrigerator is installed on a flat, level surface with a reasonable clearance from the wall or the cabinet.
  • The refrigerator is level and is sitting firmly on the floor.
  • The door opens and closes freely, and the interior light turns on automatically when you open the door.

Operations

Adjusting Temperature Control

Freezer Fridge (Temperature adjustment)

DIAL At “Monsoon” POINT (3-4 No.)

  • To maintain optimum temperature for food storage, set the control dial at the “Monsoon” Position.

DIAL At “Summer” POINT (5-6 No.)

  • When setting the control dial at the “Summer” Position, the Refrigerator be comes coldest.
  • When large quantities of food is stored, For quickice making set the control dialat the “Summer Position.
  • When setting the control dial at the “Winter” Position, the Refrigerator becomes warmer.
  • When small quantities of food is stored,

NOTE

  • If the temperature where the Refrigerator is placed is lower than 5°C, set the temperature control toWINTER. Because the temperature of the Refrigerator is affected by the temperature around the Refrigerator and it will be lower than the set value.
  • Apart from knob settings mentioned above, if you desire to increase or reduce the cooling, turn the knob clockwise or anticlockwise to the degrees you want.

Special Feature

The actual image and special functions of your refrigerator may differ, depending on the model and the country.

  1. Check the layer thickness of the frost/ ice formed on the walls of the ice making compartment. If more frost is formed, please defrost

  2. It is always recommended to remove the stored food from the freezer compartment before defrost

  3. Push the Defrost button to defrost. Frost on the surface of the evaporator will begin to melt and can be easily removed. After defrosting is finished, the refrigerator will start automatically.

  • The Defrost button remains pressed – during the defrost process (1), and returns to normal state when complete.
  • If you press the Defrost button in higher inner temperatures (ambient temperature), the button would not be pressed and stays normal (2).

CAUTION
In order to remove ice from the ice making compartment, do not use a keen tool, knife or screw driver.

**How To Lock

**

You can use the provided key to lock the refrigerator’s door. The door lock is unlocked in the horizontal (-) position, and locked in the vertical (1) position.

  • To lock the door, fully insert the key. Then, press the key while turning it to the left.
  • To unlock the door, fully insert the key. Then, press the key while turning it to the right.

CAUTION

  • Do not leave the key in the door lock. You can lose the key.
  • Do not forcefully open the door before unlocking it. The door may be damaged.

Cool Pack ( Application Models  Only)
Operation Instruction

  1. Take out the Chilled Room tray from inside the refrigerator.
  2. Put the Cool Pack in the Chilled Room tray.

NOTE

  • If the Chiller compartment is not inserted to the end, water can drop to the bottom of refrigerator when defrost is performed.
  • So the Chiller compartment should be inserted to the end when you store the food in the Chiller compartment.

Cool Pack/Wave (Applicable models Only)
Operation Instruction

  1. Remove the plastic bag and tape from the Chilled Tray Cool Pack / Wave in the top part of the refrigerator.
  2. Take out the Chilled Room tray from inside the refrigerator.
  3. Put the Cool Pack/Wave in the Chilled Room tray.

NOTE

  • If the Chiller compartment is not inserted to the end, water can drop to the bottom of refrigerator when defrost is performed.
  • So the Chiller compartment should be inserted to the end when you store the food in the Chiller compartment.

**Fresh max (Applicable models Only)

** To facilitate storage or removal of food items in different sizes, you can reposition the Fresh Max divider by pulling the divider out and reinserting in a desired position.

Ice Making

  1. Fill The Tray up to 80% with Water Level.

  2. Place The Ice Tray in the Super Freeze Zone

  3. To Empty the ice tray hold both ends of the tray and gently twist to remove the ice cubes.

NOTE

It is recommended that you wait about 1-2 hours after setting max of Freezer or COLDEST of temperature control for the ice cubes to form.

CAUTION

  • The coldest part of the Refrigerator is the Super Freeze Zone. This is the best place to store delicate foodstuffs
  • Glass bottles containing liquids should never be stored in the Super Freeze Zone as the glass can shatter when the contents freeze.

Handle and care

Chiller Compartment
Pull the chiller compartment towards you until it meets the stopper. Tilt the front upward and pull the compartment out.

**

To remove a shelf, first open the door completely. Pull the shelf forward, lift up, and then pull out. Do not attempt to tilt the shelf into position.

Do not put the shelves upside down or reverse the front and back.

**Vegetable Box

Door bin Variety**

Table it out of the Refrigerator. Lift The Cover up and pull it out of the Refrigerator.

Sightly press the guard on the side(1) then lift up and pull out of the door bin (This Door bin Variety is adjustable and may be positioned to best fit your needs.

Sightly press the guard on the side() then lift up and pull out of the door bin (This Door bin Jumbo / Fresh max is not adjustable; it fits in only one position)

Cleaning

WARNING

  • Do not use benzene, thinner, or home/car detergent such as Clorox” for cleaning purposes. They may damage the surface of the refrigerator and cause a fire,
  • Do not spray water onto the refrigerator. This may cause electric shock.

Replacing The Bulb Lamp

WARNING

Disconnect power supply before replacing the lamp.
Replacing Bulb

  1. Unplug the power cord from the socket.
  2. Remove Tray partition and shelf.
  3. Push the Lamp cover hook on both side and then take Lamp cover out.
  4. Turn the lamp counter clockwise.
  5. Replace with new lamp same specification as original one.

Troubleshooting

There are unusual noises Check if the appliance is installed on a stable and

even floor
Is the back of the appliance too close to the wall?
Have any foreign objects fallen behind or under the appliance?
Is the noise coming from the compressor in the appliance?
A ticking sound occurs when the various accessories contract or expand.
The front corners and sides of the appliance are warm and condensation starts to form.| Heat-proof pipes are installed in the front corners of the appliance to prevent condensation from forming. When the surrounding temperature rises, this may not always be effective. However, this is not abnormal.
In very humid weather, condensation may form on the outer surface of the appliance when the moisture in the air comesinto contact with the cool surface of the appliance.
You can hear a liquid bubbling in the appliance.| This is the refrigerant, which cools the inside of the appliance.

There is a bad smell inside the appliance.| Has a food item spoiled?
Make sure that strong smelling food (for example, fish) is wrapped so that it is airtight.
Clean out your Freezer periodically and throw away any spoiled food. When cleaning the inside of the fridge, store food elsewhere and unplug the appliance. Wipe with a dry dishcloth after 2-3 hours and then circulate air inside the refrigerator.
There is a layer of frost on the appliances walls| Are the air outlet vents blocked by food stored inside the Refrigerator?
Space the food out as much as possible to improveventilation.
If the freezer drawer is not completely closed or is blocked, humidity from outside may enter and cause severe frost to form.
Condensation forms on the inside wall of the appliance and around vegetables.| Food with a high water content is stored uncovered with a high humidity level or the door has been left open for a long time.
Store the food with a cover or in sealed containers
The appliance is not operating at all or the temperature is too high or low| Check that the power plug is correctly connected.
Is the temperature control on the front panel correctly set?
Is the appliance in direct sunlight or located near a heat source.? If so, it may not be able to cool as well. Please put it in a place that is out of direct sunlight and not near a heat source.
Is the back of the appliance too close to the wall? If so, it may not be able to cool sufficiently. Keep it an appropriate distance from the wall.
Is there too much food inside so that the food is blocking the outlet vent? To keep the refrigerator at a suitable temperature, do not fill the refrigerator with too much food.
The food in the Refrigerator is frozen| Is the temperature control or control panel set to the coldest temperature?
The lamps in the freezer and refrigerator are not turned on.| The lamps may not be turned back on if the doors of the freezer and refrigerator remain opened side by side for 2 seconds or longer. Close the doors and then open them again.
Water Deposition on Cover Door/Chiller Tray| Water Deposition on cover door/Chiller tray is due to frequent opening of the door/humid environment which is a normal phenomenon. It can be cleaned with a dry cloth.

  1. Proof of purchase is a pre-requisite to claim warranty.
  2. The product should have been purchased from an authorised Samsung Sales Dealer in India.
  3. Warranty can be claimed only if the repair was carried out by the Samsung authorised service center.
  4. Carry-in service or In-Home service applicability depends on the product category and Samsung policy.
  5. Free installation or demo of the product, if applicable, can be availed only once and within 6month from the date of purchase. In case of installation, any additional material required over and above the standard installation kit shall be on the chargeable basis,
  6. In case of defective accessory, only the accessory will be repaired or replaced.
  7. Cosmetic/Aesthetic/Plastic / Glass Parts /Bulbs / Cable /Wiring/Piping/ Consumables are not covered under warranty.
  8. The defective parts/ products which were replaced by Samsung under this warranty shall be the property of Samsung.
  9. While carrying out repair, Samsung may use accessories or parts that are new or refurbished or reconditioned.
  10. Samsung shall not be liable for any losses or consequential losses due to product failure or the installed software.
  11. Samsung shall be free to decide on whether or not to provide a software update for its products.
  12. Samsung shall not be responsible for any loss or misuse of data, personal information, setting, third party software during product usage or repair or software update.
  13. Samsung shall not be liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience or damage that may result from use inability to use the product. Under no circumstances shall Samsung be liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience or damage exceeding the purchase price of the product.
  14. Defects caused by customer negligence, tampering shall void the product warranty.
  15. Any extended/addition warranty offered by Samsung has to be supported by relevant proofs..
  16. Usage of power stabilizers of proper rating is necessary unless explicitly mentioned by Samsung on product literature/instruction booklet,
  17. In case of defect arising out of installation done by party other than Samsung authorised party, the limited warranty will be applicable as per revised T&C as Samsung shall deem fit.
  18. Regular upkeep, maintenance and cleaning of parts are necessary in certain products. Such periodic maintenance shall be on chargeable basis unless otherwise provided and not covered under warranty.
  19. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, and spares not being available Samsung’s prevailing depreciation rules will be binding on the purchaser and same shall be considered as a commercial solution in lieu of repairs.
  20. Defects arising out of the following are not covered under warranty like Mishandling/Misuse, Improper ventilation, Improper voltage, Use of external material, Normal wear and tear, Physical damage and/or electrical damage caused by physical impact.
  21. Complaints related to playability, printability, compatibility with external accessories, software, file systems, third party applications, CODEs, signals, Networks& ISP bandwidth shall not be considered as defect in product and not covered under warranty.
  22. This warranty covers only the defects in products arising out of manufacturing or faulty workmanship.
  23. This warranty covers repair/replacement of parts.
  24. Warranty period of parts & accessories may vary from product to product.
  25. Maximum liability out of this warranty is limited to the product purchase value/MRP.
  26. No warranty on certain parts/conditions/types of product failures.
  27. Under certain conditions where warranty obligations cannot be met, depreciation will be applicable on the existing product.

The Warranty shall be null and void in any of the following cases, and in such cases Samsung may at its sole discretion repair the equipment on a chargeable basis. The decision of Samsung, whether a complaint falls in any of these categories or not shall be binding on the Purchaser.

  • The dully filled warranty card/proof of purchase is not presented to the service engineer at the time of repairs being undertaken/requested.
  • The original serial number of the product is removed, altered or obliterated from the product.
  • The product purchased is not used as per the rated power conditions or instructions mentioned in the INSTRUCTION MANUAL
  • The product is being used for commercial purpose OR if the product has been used excessively and beyond reasonable usage as permitted within the product instruction manual.
  • Site (premises where the product is used/ kept) conditions that do not conform to the recommended operations of the product. Defects caused due to exposure to moisture/dampness/extreme thermal or environmental conditions or rapid changes in such of conditions/corrosions/oxidations/spilling of food/liquid/influence of Chemical substances.
  • Defects due to causes beyond control like lightning, abnormal voltage, spikes, external sources (ex: cable/set top box connections), fire, water logging, natural calamities, commotion, riots, theft, anti-social action, acts of God or while in transit.
  • Defects caused by household pets, rats, cockroaches, ants, pests, fungi or any other animal/birds/insects.
  • Defects caused due to negligence/omission of the Purchaser on account of periodic maintenance(s)/periodicservicing as mentioned in the instruction manual of the product.
  • Defects caused due to usage of third party material/non Samsung Authorized Consumables. Any modifications, including but not limited to, rooting attempts, reverse engineering, unlocking, jail-breaking etc. of the original firmware(s) or software(s) of the product.
  • Repair due to misuse/third party repair attempts are not covered in warranty.
  • Warranty does not cover repair due to external factors/mediums/data types.
  • Warranty shall apply only if the product is used as per its usage specifications (ex: personal, commercial etc.)
  • Warranty shall be void if product has failed under certain conditions/types (ex: water logging, misuse, etc.)

All disputes arising out of this warranty are subject to Delhi Jurisdiction Only.

Warranty period commences from the date of purchase of the product unless specified otherwise.
