Pairing a Smart Phone or Tablet to your VIZIO SmartCast Device
The VIZIO SmartCast Mobile Application is currently available on Android and iOS devices
1. Download our Android or iOS application, and you can use any compatible tablet or smartphone to control your VIZIO SmartCast devices. Smart phones & tablets must meet the following requirements:
- Android 4.4 or higher
- iOS 8.0 or higher
2. Open the VIZIO SmartCast Mobile App. Follow the onscreen prompts to create a VIZIO account, or continue as a guest.
3. You’ll then be prompted to get started, and see a list of VIZIO SmartCast Devices in your home. Click on device you’d like to pair to.
4. Once you’ve selected the TV or Sound Bar you’d like to pair with, you’ll
need to confirm the connection. If you’re pairing to a TV, you’ll see a 4
digit code displayed at the top of your screen. Simply type in that 4 digit
code.
*If you’re connecting to a sound bar, you’ll be asked to press a button on
the sound bar itself to confirm the connection.
5. Now, you’ve linked the SmartCast Mobile app to your TV and can use the application as a remote to control your TV, to adjust settings, and to discover new content.
FAQ:
Q. I don’t see my devices showing in the list of available devices?
A. The VIZIO SmartCast Mobile App uses your home Wi Fi network to find and
pair your devices. So if you’re not seeing the device you’re looking for
either your phone isn’t connected to your network, or you haven’t connected
your TV or sound bar. Q. Can I control more than 1 device?
A. Yes. There’s an option option to select device at the top of the screen.
Just add any other devices, and you’ll be able to control them with the app.
Q. Can I pair multiple devices to the TV? Like a family members phone?
A. Yes you can. Just download the SmartCast mobile app on their device- and
follow the same steps.
Q. Do I need to pair my phone to use Google ChromeCast or Apple AirPlay?
A. No. Those features will work outside of SmartCast mobile. As long as the TV
and you Cast/AirPlay device are connected to the network they’ll discover each
other and be able to play content.
