ATTENTION

The vibration level specified in these instructions has been measured under a measurement method standardized in EN 60745 and can be used to compare power tools between them. It is also suitable for temporary assessment of vibration load. The specified vibration level represents the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for another purpose, with different interchangeable tools or with insufficient technical support, the vibration level may be different. This sensitivity can increase the vibration load during the entire operating cycle. For the accurate assessment of the vibration load, the time periods during which the unit is switched off must also be taken into account or working but not being used. This can significantly reduce the vibration load during the entire working cycle. Determine additional safety measures to protect the service worker from the effects of vibration such as: technical maintenance of the power tool and interchangeable tools, keeping hands warm, and organizing the work cycle.

WARNING! Read all directions and instructions for safety.
Failure to follow safety instructions and guidelines may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Keep the instructions and safety instructions for reference needs.

PUNCH SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Wear earplugs when impact drilling. Noise can lead to hearing loss.
Use the additional handles supplied with the appliance. The loss of control may result in injury.
Hold the power tool by the insulated handles when carrying out works where the work tool can affect hidden utility cables or your cable. His contact with a current-carrying conductor can transmit the voltage across its metal parts and cause an electric shock.

ADDITIONAL OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Use protective equipment. Always wear them when operating the machine safety goggles. Protective clothing and a dust mask are recommended, protective gloves, sturdy and non-slip shoes, helmet and protective equipment for listening.
  • The dust that is formed at work is often harmful to health and should not enter the body. Wear a suitable dust mask. It is not allowed to process materials that pose a danger to health (eg asbestos).
  • If the tool used blocks, switch off the device immediately! Do not include the appliance again while the used tool is blocked; this could result in high reactive force recoil. Find and eliminate the cause of the blocking of the tool used bearing in mind the instructions for safety

Possible reasons for this could be:

  • Jamming in the processed part
  • Drilling the material
  • Overloading the power tool Do not disturb the machine while it is running.
  • The tool in use may become hot during use.
  • ATTENTION! Risk of burns
  • when changing the tool
  • when leaving the device

Do not remove shavings or broken pieces while the machine is running.

  • Always keep the connecting cable out of the working range of the machine. The cable must always be routed from the machine to the rear.
  • When working in walls, ceilings or floors, be careful of cables, gas pipes and water pipes.
  • Secure the workpiece with a clamping device. Loose parts for handling can cause serious injury and property damage.
  • Before any work on the machine, remove the plug from the socket.
  • With large diameters of the drilled hole, the additional handle must attached perpendicular to the main handle. See also in the section with photos, point “Rotating the handle”.

INTENDED USE

  • K545 S: The punch can be universally used for punching and drilling in stone and concrete.
  • K500 S: The hammer can be used for drilling in stone and concrete.
  • This appliance may only be used for its intended purpose as specified.

ENGINE PROTECTION DEPENDING ON THE LOAD

  • The contacts in the external sections must be equipped with protective devices and residual current circuit breakers (FI, RCD, PRCD). This requires a prescription for installation for the electrical installation. Please observe this when using on your device.
  • To be connected to single-phase alternating current and mains only voltage indicated on the nameplate. It is also possible to connect to a contact that is not of the “shuko” type because the construction is of protection class II.
  • Connect the appliance to the outlet only when it is switched off.
  • This is a professional-use device that can minimally exceed the guide values for harmonic current waves when connecting to the public low-voltage power grid. So before connecting on the appliance, consult the competent electricity distribution company.

COLD WORK
When the machine is stored for a longer period or at low temperatures, the lubricant may harden and the machine may initially not work or its efficiency is too low. If this happens:

  1. Insert a drill or chisel into the machine.
  2. Place the machine on an excess piece of concrete.
  3. Actuate the switch for a few seconds and release it again.

After 15 seconds to 2 minutes, the machine starts to beat normally. How much the colder the machine, the longer it takes to warm up.

SUPPORT

  • The ventilation slots of the machine must always be kept clean. If the carbon brushes are worn, they must be replaced and it is extra a service check is required.
  • This will extend the service life of the machine and guarantee constant operational readiness.
  • If the power cord is damaged, take it to a service centre for replacement, as it requires special tools.
  • Use only Milwaukee accessories and replacement parts. elements, whose replacement is not described, be taken to a Milwaukee service centre for replacement (see “Warranty and service addresses” brochure).
  • If necessary, you can ask for the device from your service or directly from Techtronic Industries GmbH, Max-Eyth-Straße 10, 71364 Winnenden, Germany, drawing for in case of explosion, indicating the machine type and number on the factory plate.
