IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using your kettle and teapot, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including:

  • Read this manual thoroughly before operating your new kettle and teapot.
  • Before connecting the kettle to a power source, check whether the voltage indicated on the appliance (bottom of the kettle and base unit) corresponds with the main voltage in your home.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces or hot water. Use handles. Care must be taken since burns can occur from touching hot parts or from spilled hot liquid.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug, power base, or electric kettle in water or other liquid.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use and allow the kettle to cool before cleaning.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Call Customer Support at 1.855.926.2626 for immediate assistance.

  • Do not use outdoors or for other than intended use.
  • Switch off and unplug from the outlet before filling, emptying or cleaning, or when not in use.
  • Do not overfill the kettle. Refer to the maximum level indicator.
  • To avoid the risk of fire, do not operate near explosive and/or flammable fumes. Do not operate or place any part of this appliance on or near gas, an electric burner or in a heated oven.
  • These appliances are not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been instructed on their use by a person responsible for their safety. USING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE

Your Temperature Control Electric Kettle comes with two accessories:

PRONTOFILL™ LID
This unique patented technology, the first of its kind on the market, allows you to fill the kettle without opening the lid. So you can fill, boil, and enjoy…all with the lid on!

TEAPOT WITH INFUSER
Integrates with kettle to keep your tea warm.

  1. Fill the kettle with water within the MIN and MAX markings on the carafe. Do not overfill to prevent the risk of spillage.
  2. Place the kettle firmly on the base and plug it in.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL SETTINGS:

  1. 170°F, 185°F, 200°F and 212°F temperature keys: select your desired temperature BEFORE pressing START/CANCEL. If not, the kettle automatically defaults to the previous temperature you selected (in the case of first use it defaults to 212°F).
  2. After making your selection, that temperature key flashes. Once the kettle reaches your desired temperature, the button will stop flashing but remain illuminated. It also beeps twice to let you know it’s ready for you.
  3. KEEP WARM: This button selects or cancels the insulation. If you press it, the kettle will continue reheating the water to your desired temperature for 30 minutes. Please note that only 170°F, 185°F and 200°F can be selected for insulation.

Tips

  1. Always make sure there is water in the carafe when the kettle is plugged in.
  2. The glass gets very hot while the handle remains cool. Please exercise caution.
  3. If you are boiling the kettle with the tea infuser lid on, keep the infuser pushed up and only lower it into the kettle once it reaches your desired temperature. That way you avoid potentially having tea with a burnt taste.
  4. If there is no kettle on the base, all buttons and indicators will be disabled.

CLEANING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE

  1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the kettle and its base with a damp cloth and then dry them with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use coarse or abrasive cleaning materials to prevent bruising the kettle’s finish.
  3. Wipe the kettle’s interior and the spout filter with a soap-soaked cloth before rinsing it with water.
    • Note: The water might sometimes contain chalk, and the water in the kettle might look turbid. Once the water boils, these deposits will float on the surface and might cause limescale to build up, especially on the filter. To prevent mineral build-up, clean the kettle regularly. Please refer to the descaling instructions on.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Input Voltage: 120V
  • Wattage: 1500W

Environmental protection
This product should not be disposed of together with regular domestic waste; it should be taken to an authorized recycler of electrical appliances. By disposing of and recycling domestic waste, you help protect the planet and the people living on it. If you wish to dispose of this item, please do so properly.

Residue, odor and spotting found inside your kettle are most likely caused by limescale which are natural deposits (calcium, magnesium, iron and copper) that may build up depending on the water in your area. While you do not need to worry about hygienic or health-related issues, we do strongly recommend descaling your kettle from time to time to avoid limescale build-up and other issues.

What you need:
Water and vinegar or lemon juice

Steps:

  1. Mix a solution that is 3/4 parts water to 1/4 part vinegar or lemon juice.
  2. Pour the solution into the kettle and close the lid.
  3. Bring the solution to a boil and leave for 5-8 hours.
  4. Discard solution.
  5. If the problem persists, repeat Step 1 until limescale dissipates.

Caution: the solution may be extremely hot during this process.
