Product Usage Instructions

Getting Started

Power On/Off
Hold the Power On button located on the side of the pen for about 3 seconds until the start-up screen appears.

Menu Navigation
To navigate the menu, simply swipe along the touchscreen and tap on any of the icons available.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

To connect to Wi-Fi:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Make sure the Wi-Fi option is turned on.
  3. Available Wi-Fi options should then appear.
  4. Choose the relevant connection.
  5. If successful, the Wi-Fi icon should appear in the top right corner of the screen.

Left or Right-Handed Option
Before scanning, ensure the screen orientation matches your preferred scanning hand:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on the relevant orientation option to flip the screen for left/right-handed use.

Available Functions

Scan & Read
To use the Scan & Read function:

  1. Tap the Scan & Read icon on the home screen.
  2. Hold the pen at a slight angle and press the tip of the pen over a word until it lights up.
  3. To scan, ensure the black line on the tip is in the middle of the text and slowly drag the pen from left to right over a word or sentence at a consistent speed.
  4. Once scanning is complete, lift the pen off the page. A voice will read aloud what you have scanned.

Scan & Save
To use the Scan & Save function:

  1. Tap the Scan & Save icon on the home screen and create a new file.
  2. Scan your document.
  3. After scanning, you can edit the file name or delete the file as needed.

Voice Recorder
To use the Voice Recorder function:

  1. Tap the Voice Recorder icon on the home screen.
  2. Create a new file.
  3. Tap the Microphone button to start recording and tap it again to stop recording.
  4. Press the Save button to save your recording.

Online Functions

Note: The following functions require access to a Wi-Fi network.

Word Translation
To use the Word Translation function:

  1. On the home screen, tap the Word Translation icon.
  2. Scan your desired text.
  3. Tap on a word to view its definition.
  4. To have the definition read aloud, tap the Speaker icon.
  5. To add a word to the built-in storage, tap the Star icon.

Text Translation
To use the Text Translation function:

  1. On the home screen, tap the Text Translation icon.
  2. Swipe from the right side of the screen to select languages.
  3. Scan a sentence and press Go Translate.
  4. The translation will appear on the screen and will be read aloud.

Voice Translation
To use the Voice Translation function:

  1. Tap the Voice Translation icon on the home screen.
  2. Choose the languages you want to translate by assigning them to the A and B buttons.
  3. Speak into the pen and it will translate your speech into the selected languages.

  • Q: Can I use the World Scanner Go without an internet connection?

Getting Started

Power On/Off
Hold the Power On button to the side of the pen for about 3 seconds until the start-up screen appears.

Menu Navigation
To navigate the menu, simply swipe along the touchscreen and tap on any of the icons available.

Connecting to Wi-Fi
Go to Settings and make sure the Wi-Fi option is turned on. Available Wi-Fi options should then appear. Choose the relevant connection, and if successful, the Wi-Fi icon should appear in the top right corner of the screen.

Left or Right-Handed Option
Before you start scanning, it is important to check the screen orientation matches your preferred scanning hand. To do this, go to Settings and tap relevant orientation. Here, you can flip the screen so it is correctly viewable for left/right-handed use.

Available Functions

Scan & Read

  • Tap the Scan & Read on the home screen.
  • Hold the pen at a slight angle, then press the tip of the pen over the word until it lights up.
  • To scan, ensure the black line on the tip is in the middle of the text and then slowly drag the pen from left to right over a word or sentence at a consistent speed.
  • Once you have finished scanning, lift the pen off the page. A voice will read aloud what you have scanned.

Scan & Save

  • Tap the Scan & Save   on the home screen and create a file. You can then Scan and save the document.
  • Once you have finished scanning, you will be able to edit the file name or delete the file.

Voice Recorder

  • To enable the voice recorder , tap the Voice Recorder on the home screen, where you will then be asked to create a new file.
  • Tap the Microphone to start recording. Press the microphone again to stop the recording. Press to save your recording.

Online Functions

NOTE : The following section details features that require access to a WiFi network.

Word Translation

  • Word Translation allows you to get definitions of words you have scanned.
  • To use this function, on the home screen, tap the Word Translation . Scan your desired text, then tap a word for its definition.
  • To have the definition read aloud, tap the Speaker and to add a word to the built-in storage, tap the Star .

Text Translation

The Text Translation function provides a range of languages. From the home screen, tap Text Translation   Swipe from the right side of the screen to select languages. Scan a sentence and press Go Translate. The translation will show up on screen and the translation will be read aloud.

Voice Translation

  • Voice Translation allows you to speak into the pen and translate up to two languages at a time.
  • Tap Voice Translation and then choose the languages you are going to use, assigning them to the A and B buttons.
  • To start translating, press and hold either the A or B button and begin speaking.
  • After you release the button, you can begin translating the text into the two languages you have chosen and have it read aloud.

USB Charging

  • You will be notified when the battery of the World Scanner Go is low, so be sure to get to an outlet as soon as possible.
  • The World Scanner Go uses a rechargeable battery powered by USB-C (included) and takes between 2-3 hours to reach a full charge.
  • The charging port can be found on the side of the device.

Device Connection

This product is designed for use with both Windows/Mac computers and Android devices.

Volume Adjustment

Use the + and – buttons on the right side of the pen to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

Force Shutdown

Long press the Power button on the right side of the pen for at least 10 seconds. The system will then force shutdown, after which you can power on the World Scanner Go as usual.

Software Update

  • Select Settings and navigate to Software Update. Use the Check for Updates option to check that you have installed the most up-to-date software.
  • If you do not have the most recent software version installed, you will be given the option to Download Update.

WARNING. Before updating system software, ensure that the device has sufficient power (50% battery and is connected via USB to a charging port). Do not attempt to use the device whilst the system installation is being downloaded. Usage Notice

Safety

  • Do not expose this product to direct sunlight or extreme heat.
  • This product is not a toy. Users under the age of 4 should use this product under adult supervision.
  • Do not soak this product and its accessories in liquids.
  • Before using the charger, check whether the wires, plugs, shells, or other parts are damaged. If damage is found, stop using it immediately until repaired.
  • This product can only be used with the recommended power supply (recommended power supply specification 5V-1A) and power supply that complies with certification specifications and meets the standard requirements.
  • Built-in 1050mAh lithium polymer battery cannot be removed or replaced. If damaged, please contact post-sales service for guidance around repair.
  • The charger should be used under adult supervision.
  • For user safety, the device cannot be used while charging.

Cautions

  • Only use the same type or equivalent type of battery to replace.
  • For your safety, please do not expose the battery to environments prone to causing overheating such as fire or direct sunlight.
