Product Information

  • This product is a micro component system, designed for audio playback. It supports devices with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and higher. Please refer to the operation manual of devices with lower Android versions for recommended app(application).

Power On/Off

To power on the micro component system, locate the power button and press it once. The system will turn on and enter standby mode.
To power off the system completely, press and hold the power button until the display turns off.

Audio Playback

To play audio from a connected device, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your device to the micro component system using a compatible audio cable.
  2. Turn on both the micro component system and your device.
  3. Select the appropriate input source on the micro component system (e.g., AUX, USB).
  4. Use the controls on the micro component system or your device to play and control the audio.

Adjusting Settings

You can adjust various settings on the micro component system, such as volume, equalizer, and input source. Refer to the operation manual for detailed instructions on how to access and modify these settings.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other.   15. Power Sources – This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. For product intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.

  16. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

  17. Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock.

  18. Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

  19. Replacement Parts – When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.

  20. Safety Check – Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.

  21. Wall or ceiling mounting – When mounting the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the product ac-cording to the method recommended by the manufacurer.

  22. Power Lines – An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

  23. Protective Attachment Plug – The product is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection. This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If re-placement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the manufacturer that has the same overload protection as the original plug.

  24. Stand – Do not place the product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod or table. Placing the product on an un-stable base can cause the product to fall, resulting in serious personal injuries as well as damage to the product. Use only a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. When mounting the product on a wall, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Use only the mounting hardware recommended by the manufacturer.

Precautions

General

Keep your equipment at least 4” (10 cm) of free space along the sides, top and back for proper ventilation.

  • Use the unit on a firm, level surface free from vibration.
  • Place the unit at least 12” (30 cm) away from any CRT TV to avoid color variations across the TV screen. If the variations persist, move the unit further away from the TV. LCD TV is not prone to such variation.
  • Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive dust, humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home computers, facsimiles, etc.) which generate electrical noise.
  • Do not expose the unit to moisture, to temperatures higher than 104˚F (40˚C) or to extremely low temperatures.
  • If the unit does not work properly, unplug and plug it in again. Then turn on the unit.
  • In case of an electrical storm, unplug the unit for safety.
  • Hold the AC power plug by the head when removing it from the AC outlet, as pulling the cord can damage internal wires.
  • Do not place anything on top of the unit.
  • The AC power plug is used as a disconnect device and shall always remain readily operable.
  • Do not remove the outer cover, as this may result in electric shock. Refer internal service to your local SHARP service facility.
  • This unit should only be used within the range of 32˚F – 104˚F (0˚C – 40˚C).

This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.

Warning
The voltage used must be the same as that specified on this unit. Using this product with a higher voltage other than that which is specified is dangerous and may result in a fire or other type of accident causing damage. SHARP will not be held responsible for any damage resulting from use of this unit with a voltage other than that which is specified.

Volume Control

The sound level at a given volume setting depends on speaker efficiency, location and various other factors. It is advisable to avoid exposure to high volume levels, which occurs while turning the unit on with the volume control setting up high, or while continually listening at high volumes.

Before use

  • Choose unit installation location carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or close to a source of heat. Also avoid locations subject to vibrations and excessive dust, cold or moisture. Keep away from sources that hum, such as transformers or motors.
  • Do not open the cabinet as this might result in damage to the circuitry or electrical shock, if a foreign object should get into the set, contact your dealer.
  • When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull the cord.
  • Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the unit. Use a clean, dry cloth.
  • In order to shut off the power to this product completely, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Be sure to unplug the unit if you do not intend to use it for an extended period of time, such as a vacation.
  • Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

Warranty (USA)

CONSUMER LIMITED WARRANTY (Valid in the U.S. Only)

  • MIZARI ENTERPRISES, INC. warrants to the first consumer purchaser that this Sharp brand product (the “Product”), when shipped in its original container, will be free from defective workmanship and materials, and agrees that it will, at its option, either repair the defect or replace the defective Product or part thereof with a new or remanufactured equivalent at no charge to the purchaser for parts or labor for the period(s) set forth below.

  • This warranty does not apply to any appearance items of the Product nor to the additional excluded item(s) set forth below nor to any Product the exterior of which has been damaged or defaced, which has been subjected to improper voltage or other misuse, abnormal service or handling, or which has been altered or modified in design or construction. In order to enforce the rights under this limited warranty, the purchaser should follow the steps set forth below and provide proof of purchase to the servicer.

  • The limited warranty described herein is in addition to whatever implied warranties may be granted to purchasers by law. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR USE ARE LIMITED TO THE

CONSUMER LIMITED WARRANTY (Valid in Canada Only)
MIZARI ENTERPRISES, INC. warrants to the first purchaser for this Sharp brand product (“Product”), when shipped in its original container and sold or distributed in Canada by MIZARI or by an authorized MIZARI dealer, and Product was not sold “as is” or “sales final” that the Product will during the applicable warranty period, be free from defects in material and workmanship, and will within the applicable warranty period, either repair the defective Product or provide the first purchaser a replacement of the defective Product.
Conditions : This limited warranty shall not apply to:

  • Any cosmetic damage to the Product surface or exterior that has been defaced or caused by normal wear and tear.
  • Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of damage caused by any external or environmental conditions, including but not limited to, transmission line/power line voltage or liquid spillage or acts of God.
  • Warranty claims for Products returned with illegible or without appropriate model, serial number and CSA/cUL markings.
  • Any Products used for rental or commercial purposes.
  • Any installation, delivery, setup and/or programming charges.
  • Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of abusive operation, negligence, accident, improper installation or inappropriate use as outlined in the owner’s manual or other applicable Product documentation.
  • Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of any Product that has been tampered with, modified, adjusted or repaired by any person other than MIZARI, a Sharp authorized service centre or a MIZARI authorized servicing dealer.
  •  Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of the use of the Product with items not specified or approved by MIZARI, including but not limited to, head cleaning tapes and chemical cleaning agents.
  • Any replacement of accessories, glassware, consumable or peripheral items required through normal use of the Product, including but not limited to, earphones, remote controls, AC adapters, batteries, temperature probe, trays, filters, belts, ribbons, cables and paper.
  • How to get service: Warranty service information may be obtained calling 905-568-7140. No other person (including any MIZARI dealer or service centre) is authorized to extend, enlarge or transfer this warranty on behalf of MIZARI. The purchaser will be responsible for any and all removal, reinstallation, transportation and insurance costs incurred.
  • The express warranties in this limited warranty are, except for consumer purchasers domiciled in Quebec, in lieu of and, except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, MIZARI disclaims all other warranties and conditions, express or implied, whether arising by law, statute, by course of dealing or usage of non-infringement.

Limitations : (not applicable to consumer purchasers domiciled in Quebec to the extent prohibited under Quebec law):

  • MIZARI shall not be liable for any incidental, special, consequential, economic, exemplary or indirect damages of any kind or nature (including lost profits or damages for loss of time or loss of use or loss of data) arising from or in any connection with the use or performance of a Product or a failure of a Product, even if MIZARI is aware of or has been advised of the possibility of such damages;

Fitting or replacing the remote control batteries
Use 2 “AAA” size batteries (UM/SUM-4, R3, HP-16 or similar).

  1. Remove the cover of the battery compartment, push your thumb down on to the circle on the battery compartment cover and slide it down.
  2. Insert two batteries (type AAA 1.5V) observing polarity +/- as shown. When replacing the batteries, use only the same type of battery supplied.
  3. Replace the battery cover and clip it in place.

Caution

  • Replace all old batteries with new ones at the same time.
  • Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period of time. This will prevent potential damage due to battery leakage.
  • Do not use rechargeable batteries (nickel-cadmium battery, etc.).
  • Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  • Risk of fire explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Notes concerning use

  • Exposing the sensor on the unit and remote control to strong light may interfere with operation. Change the lighting or the direction of the unit if this occurs.
  • Keep the remote control away from moisture, heat shock, and vibrations.

System connection

Preparation for use

  1. Place a speaker on either side of the main unit, preferably at the same height and with at least 150mm space between each speaker to the main unit. Connect the speaker plugs to the rear of the unit. Take care to match the speaker placed to the LEFT to the LEFT output on the rear of the unit. Repeat for the RIGHT speaker.
  2. Please ensure that the voltage marked on the rating label, located on the rear panel, is the same as the voltage in your area. Insert the end of the power lead in to the AC IN socket on the back of the unit. Plug the other end of the cable in to the wall socket.
  3. Press the STANDBY button on the main unit to turn it ON. Extend the ANTENNA to get the best reception. Press the source button on the unit, or FM button on the remote control to enter the FM mode. To use the radio in FM mode, follow the instructions in the FM RADIO OPERATION chapter of this manual.
  4. Press the STANDBY button on the main unit to turn it ON. Extend the ANTENNA to get the best reception. Press the source button on the unit, or AM button on the remote control to enter the AM mode. To use the radio in AM mode, follow the instructions in the AM RADIO OPERATION chapter of this manual.
  5. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control button to enter the Aux In (Audio) mode. Connect your audio device to the AUX IN socket via AUX-cable RCA-RCA Stereo Type. Control playback via your connected audio device.
  6. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control button to enter the CD mode. Press the button to open the disc drawer and insert a disc. Press the button again to close. The CD will begin playing from the first track.
  7. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control to enter the USB mode. Plug the USB device to USB port on the front panel of the unit, and it will read the USB and play automatically.
  8. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control button to enter the Bluetooth mode. Activate the Bluetooth enabled device and select the “SHARP XL-B530”. Select the song you want and press to play.

Basic functions

Switching modes
To switch between the modes: FM, AM, AUX, CD, USB, and Bluetooth, press SOURCE button on the unit or the MODE button on the remote control.

Volume control

  1. Increase: Rotate the VOLUME control on the main unit clockwise or press the VOL+ button on the remote.
  2. Decrease: Rotate the VOLUME control on the main unit anticlockwise or press the VOL- button on the remote.

EQ effects
Press the EQ button on the remote repeatedly to cycle through a set of equalizer presets to adjust the sound. Choose from CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, MOVIE and Off.

Mute function

Press the button at any time to mute the sound output.
Press again to unmute.

Tone controls

  • To adjust the bass, use the BAS+ or BAS- buttons on the remote control.
  • To adjust the treble, use the TRE+ or TRE- buttons on the remote control.

Standby mode

  • Press the STANDBY button on the unit or the remote to put the system into standby mode. To resume normal operation, press this button again.
  • NOTE : This unit is designed to enter STANDBY mode automatically, after about 15 minutes (approximately) of inactivity. Press STANDBY button to wake the unit.
  • NOTE : When you power on the unit from standby, it will resume in the mode that was last used.

Operations

FM radio operation

  1. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control to enter the FM mode. (FM frequency 87.50 -108.00MHz)
  2. Press the buttons on remote control to decrease or increase the frequency in 100KHz increments.
  3. Press and hold the buttons on remote control to scan through the frequency range quickly. The scan will stop once it has found a station.
  4. Press and hold the  button to scan through the frequency range quickly; it will store any stations found automatically.
  5. SAVE a station: You can store up to 50 FM stations in memory. Press the FREQ button and then, using the number buttons enter the frequency that you want to store. Press the SAVE button, it will show ” P01″ on the display. Press the button to select the station preset number you want to save the frequency under. Press the SAVE button again to confirm.
  6. Recall the preset stations: Press the button to recall your stored stations.

AM radio operation

  1. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control to enter the AM mode. (AM frequency 520-1710KHz)
  2. Press the buttons on remote control to decrease or increase the frequency in 10KHz increments.
  3. Press and hold the buttons on remote control to scan through the frequency range quickly. The scan will stop once it has found a station.
  4. Press and hold the button to scan through the frequency range quickly; it will store any stations found automatically. then, using the number buttons enter the frequency that you want to store
  5. SAVE a station: You can store up to 20 AM stations in memory. Press the FREQ button and Press the SAVE button, it will show ” P01″ on the display. Press the button to select the station preset number you want to save the frequency under. Press the SAVE button again to confirm.
  6. Recall the preset stations: Press the button to recall your stored stations.

CD operation

  1. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control to enter the CD mode. Press the button to open the disc drawer, put a CD in, then press the button again to close.

  2. Press  the button  to pause or play the song.

  3. Press the button on remote control to stop playing, press the button to re-start.

  4. Press the button  to skip to the previous or next song.

  5. Press the button on remote control to fast forward or fast rewind the playback, press repeatedly to resume normal speed.

  6. To directly select a specific song press the number buttons 0-9 on remote control.
    Example
    If the track number consists of two digits, for example 25, press button “2“, and then button
    “5“ to select the 25th track.
    If the track number is a one digit number, for example 9, press “0“ first, then “9“ to skip to the 9th track.

  7. REPEAT button: While in playing mode, press the button to set repeat mode.
    For CD and CD-R discs, press the button   to repeat playing songs.
    Press once to repeat current song. Press again to repeat all tracks. Press a third time to cancel.

  8. Press the button on the remote control to play the tracks in a random order. Press again to resume.

  9. You can set the disc to play tracks in a programmed order:

  • Press the button on remote control to stop playing.
  • Press the PROGRAM button on remote control. The screen displays: P01.
  • Press the number buttons on remote control to select the tracks to program.
  • Press the buttons on remote control to skip between the program tracks.
  • Press the PROGRAM button on the remote control to confirm.
  • To begin the programmed order, press the  button.
  • To cancel the program sequence, press the button twice

Notes

  • MP3 format is supported.
  • Unsupported file formats are skipped.
  • For example, Word documents(.doc) or MP3 files with extension .are ignored and not played.

Bluetooth operation
The Micro system has Bluetooth capability and is able to receive a signal within a range of 23 feet.
To pair the Micro system with a Bluetooth device:

  1. Press the source button on the unit, or MODE button on the remote control button repeatedly to enter the Bluetooth mode, the“ BT“ message appear and flash on the display.
  2.  Activate your Bluetooth device and select the search mode.
  3. Select “SHARP XL-B530” from the search list and connect.
  4. Enter “0000“ for password if prompted.
  5. When the devices are connected to each other, a confirmation sound will be made. “BT” will stop flashing in the display.
  6. You can now playback music from your device. Please note that the volume on the Bluetooth source device operates independently to the volume of the unit.
  7. To turn off the Bluetooth function: switch to another function on the Micro system; disable the function on your Bluetooth source device; or long press the button on the remote control.

USB operation
It is possible to listen to music via the USB device interface of the unit.

Connecting a USB device

  1. Switch the unit on and select USB mode by pressing the SOURCE button.
  2.  Connect the USB device to the USB connection socket on the front panel of the unit.
  3. The unit will now play songs which are saved on the USB device.

Notes

MP3 format is supported.
Unsupported file formats are skipped. For example, Word documents (.doc) or MP3 files with extension .dlf are ignored and not played

  • Even when the files are in a supported format (MP3), some may not play or display depending on the compatibility.
  • In some case, reading may be as long as 60 seconds, this is not a malfunction.
  • Depending on the amount of data and media speed, it may take longer for the unit to read the USB device.
  • The maximum USB memory size is 128GB.
  • USB memory device must be formatted in FAT, FAT16 or FAT32

SLEEP/ALARM operation

SLEEP setting: once turn on the unit, press the SLEEP/ALARM button from remote controller to start the sleep time setting,
Press the SLEEP/ALARM buttons on remote control to choose 10-90 mins entry to standby mode.

  • Alarm setting: the unit includes simply alarm function, which can play the music automatically at set up time, or wake up you.
  • Long press (2seconds) the SLEEP/ ALARM button from remote controller, the hour digits will flare on display, press previous or next button to adjust the hours, short press the
  • SLEEP/ALARM button to confirm and skip to minute/alarm source/alarm volume setting which is same operation as hours setting, press the SLEEP/ALARM button again to confirm and quite the alarm setting.
  • The sleep and alarm only workable when the AC power is connected. Please set up the sleep and alarm again in case of power interrupted.
  • When we set up the alarm ready in standby mode, the “ Alarm” symbol will show on display, short press the alarm button can turn on or off the alarm.
  • press previous or next button to select the alarm source between RADIO/USB/CD/BUZZER , please make sure the disc or USB device is available when you select it as alarm source.
  • You can select the alarm volume between 6~32.

Troubleshooting

Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without calling a service technician. If something is wrong with this product, check the following before calling your authorized dealer or service Centre.
