Precautions

Home Screen

  1. Swipe left to turn the pages.
  2. Press and hold an app icon for 2 seconds until it becomes bigger, drag it to where you want to place it, and then release it.

Bluetooth

Note: This product only supports calls via Bluetooth and Bluetooth music by connecting the Bluetooth on your phone. It supports Bluetooth OBD-11 (EONON V0056). Other Bluetooth devices are not supported.

Note:

  • The operation of different mobile phone types may differ. For detailed instructions, please refer to the user manual of your phone. It is not guaranteed that all mobile phones with Bluetooth wireless technology can be connected.
  • The distance between this product and your phone must be less than 5 meters when using Bluetooth.
  • For some phones, the ringtone may not be output from the speakers.
  • If private mode is set on the phone, hands-free calling may be disabled.

Note:

  • Resume playback is not supported as the music Bluetooth device plays is not from the head unit.
  • Please avoid using your phone as much as possible when you’re playing music via Bluetooth. Or noises may occur when the music is playing.
  • The music may stop playing during a Bluetooth call.

Radio

  • Please set the time zone for the radio after installing this product:
  • Setting->Car-> Factory setting-> Password:126-> Radio–> Select your region->Apply-> Restart the car stereo
  • Click turn on the radio.

  • FM/AM switch
  • I Search radio stations. It stops searching and starts playing when it finds a radio station. By pressing and holding these two buttons, selecting radio frequency will be enabled. Click once to lower the frequency by one; click once to increase the frequency by one.
  • Alternative frequency. Click to automatically switch to another station with the same program from the current station to ensure playback continuity when the signal is weak.
  • Click to listen to the traffic report.
  • Program type. Click to choose a program type, such as news, music, politics technology etc.
  • Prestored radio stations. A total of 30(18 FM, midnight) radio stations can be restored. Press and hold the restored radio button(P) for 2 seconds to store the current radio station in the corresponding position.

CarPlay

Wired CarPlay setup steps:

  1. Turn on the ZLINK APP on the head unit.
  2. Connect the USB cable of your iPhone to the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto” of the head unit.
  3. Tap Allow on the prompt asking for CarPlay to access your phone while it is locked (as shown in picture 1).eonon-R04-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-FIG-29
    Note: Please be sure to use the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto”, or Apple CarPlay will not be available.

Wireless CarPlay setup steps

  1. Turn on the WiFi and Bluetooth of your iPhone.
  2. Find Bluetooth of the head unit (Bluetooth name: Eonon; password: 5802) and connect to it.
  3. Tap Use CarPlay on the prompt asking for CarPlay to access your phone while it is locked (as shown in picture 1).eonon-R04-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-FIG-30
    Note: Please do not connect to Bluetooth manually after accessing CarPlay. If you want to use Bluetooth, please click on the Wifi icon to disconnect CarPlay first (as shown in picture 2).

Android Auto

Wired Android Auto setup steps:

  1. Go to the Play Store and download the Android Auto App on your phone (as shown in picture 1).
  2. Turn on the ZLINK APP on the head unit.
  3. Connect the USB cable of your phone to the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto” of the head unit.eonon-R04-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-FIG-31
    Note: Please make sure that your phone supports Google services and Android Auto.
    Please be sure to use the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto”, or Android Auto will not be available.

Wireless Android Auto setup steps

  1. Go to the Play Store and download the Android Auto App on your phone (as shown in picture 1).
  2. Turn on the WiFi and Bluetooth of your iPhone.
  3. Find Bluetooth of the head unit (Bluetooth name: Eonon; password: 5802) and connect to it.
  4. It will turn on the ZLINK APP automatically and enter Android Auto after connecting the Bluetooth successfully.eonon-R04-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-FIG-32
    Note: Please make sure that your phone supports Google services and wireless Android Auto.

EasyConnection

Click to turn on the EasyConnection app and enable screen mirroring.

Setup steps

Method 1

  1. Click Download APP, then scan the QR code using your mobile phone (or search for EasyConnection App in the app store) to download and install the EasyConnection app.
  2. Screen mirroring will be available after connecting your phone to the car stereo’s USB port via your phone’s USB cable.

Method 2

  1. Turn on the hotspot of your phone. Turn on the Wi-Fi of the car stereo and connect it to the phone hotspot.
  2. Once connected, reopen the EasyConnection APP and screen mirroring will be available. Note: If you set up wireless screen mirroring via iPhone, you need to turn on AirPlay on your phone and choose the correct ID.

Split Screen Multitasking
Press and hold on to the status bar and then select an app to enable screen multitasking.
Note: Some apps don’t support screen multitasking.

GPS Navigation

How to use GPS Navigation on Eonon Android car stereos?

  • Online map
    Google Maps app is preinstalled on the Eonon car stereo. You can use an online map after connecting the head unit to the network.

  • Offline map
    If you are in an area where downloading the data of Google offline map is supported, you can save the map data of that area to the car stereo in Google Maps and use it offline. Or you can download other offline map apps in Google Play such as Here WeGo.

  • Buy a map card
    Buy a map card applicable to Android car stereo, and insert the map card into the SD card slot of the car stereo, then set the navigation path to run GPS.

  • Screen mirroring
    The map on the phone can be synchronized to the car stereo screen via the EasyConnection app.

  • Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
    For the iPhone, the map on the phone can be synchronized to the car stereo screen via Apple CarPlay.
    For Android phones, the map on the phone can be synchronized to the car stereo screen via Android Auto.

Tips

  • You can also enter Google Play to download other navigation apps like Waze, Sygic, etc.
  • Some navigation apps will specify the storage path of map data. Storing map data to an external Micro SD card or a USB flash drive is not supported.

GPS settings
Enter Settings->Car->Navigation to set up GPS navigation settings.

  • Navigation application options: Select a navigation app as a navigation shortcut.
  • Navigation monitoring: After turning it on, you can set up the navigation voice.
  • Navigation sound mode: When set to Switch, radio, music, or other sounds will be turned off when the navigation voice is speaking. When set to Mixing, you can still listen to radio, and music or hear other sounds when the navigation voice is speaking. You can change the volume of radio, music, or other sounds by adjusting the value of the Navigation mixing ratio.
  • Navigation sound in phone mode: Set the volume ratio of the navigation when on a call.

Wi-Fi & 4G

  • Supports connecting to the network via Wi-Fi or a 4G Dongle. (4G Dongle is not included)
  • Click land and select Network & Internet to set up a network.

Note: This car stereo only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. 5 GHz WiFi is not supported.

About 4G Dongle
Eonon car stereos only support 4G dongles that apply to the Android system. 4G dongle for WinCE/Windows/Mac system is not compatible.

Note:

  1. Please insert your SIM card into the 4G dongle, and connect it to the Eonon car stereo via USB interface. (It’s not supported to insert the SIM card directly into the car stereo.)
  2. Please make sure the 4G dongle is compatible with your mobile network system before making a purchase.
  3. Please confirm with the seller whether the 4G dongle needs to set SIM card dialing settings, APN settings, or others. If necessary, please contact your telecommunications company to confirm how to set it up.

Music
You can copy audio files to a Micro SD card or USB flash drive before inserting them  into the car stereo, and click to play music.

  • Song ID feature is available on this car stereo.
  • Support audio formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, AC3, OGG, FLAC, Web audio, etc.

Video
You can copy video files to a Micro SD card or USB flash drive before inserting them into the car stereo, and click to play videos.
Support video formats like AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, RMVB, MPG, etc.

OBD-11
OBD-11 (On-Board Diagnostics) is a computer-based self-diagnostic system built into your car that monitors emissions, mileage, speed, and more.

Connection steps:

  1. Insert the OBD-11 adapter into your car’s OBD-11 interface.
  2. Click to search for the OBD-11 adapter via Bluetooth and connect it.
  3. Go back to the home screen once connected. Click to enter the Torque APP and view the OBD-11 data.

Click I: and set up the Torque as follows:

  • Settings-> OBD-11 Adapter Settings-> Choose Bluetooth
  • Device-> Select the corresponding OBD-11 device

Note:

  1. This car stereo does not come with an OBD-11 adapter. You can choose to use the Eonon V0056 OBD-11 adapter. It only supports adapters that require no connection password and transmit data via Bluetooth.
  2. Some data may not be displayed because the data that different car OBD-11 ports support is different.

File Browser

You can view, copy, paste, or delete files in the memory/SD card/USB flash drive through the File Browser.

App Installation

This product supports the installation of various applications, but there is no guarantee that all applications will be compatible.

You can install an app via the following methods:

  1. Download it from the Google Play Store.
  2. Download the apk file for an app to the car stereo’s memory storage/SD card/USB flash drive and install it on the car stereo via Apklnstaller.

LCD Screen Usage

Screen cleaning

  1. Please turn off the power and wipe the screen gently with a soft cloth. When you wipe the screen, please avoid scratching the screen with your fingernails.
  2. Do not use wet cloth, volatile oil or diluter to clean the screen.

Note:

  • Sometimes there are small black dots or flashing dots(bright spots) on the LCD screen. This is a typical LCD phenomenon and not a symptom of any defect or failure.
  • When used in a cold place, the screen may be dark after powering on. After a while, normal brightness will be restored.
  • Screen reflection may occur when the sun shines directly on the screen. An anti-glare cover or film can be purchased to reduce reflections from direct sunlight on the screen.
  • Please avoid direct sunlight on the LCD screen when not driving. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high temperatures may cause LCD screen malfunction.
  • Do not press hard on the screen to avoid product failure.
    • Operating temp range: – 20 “C to +60 “C
    • Storage temp range: -30 “C to + 70 “C

GPS Antenna Installation
The GPS antenna can be mounted inside or outside the vehicle, such as the dashboard or the roof of the vehicle.

Note:
The GPS antenna must be mounted in an open place. If the windshield is equipped with an explosion-proof membrane or a thermal insulation film, the satellite signal of GPS antenna may be weakened. In this case, it is recommended to install the GPS antenna outside the vehicle.

Settings

Click and select CAR to access general settings.
Element: Set up the color of the button light. There are 9 preset colors. You can also adjust RGB colors for the color you want.

Note:
The button lights of the head unit will only light up after the car light is turned on. If you turn on the car light but the buttons fail to light up, please connect the ILL cable of the head unit to the ILL cable of the car and try again.

Steering wheel keys: Set up steering wheel functions.

Steps:

  1. Connect SWC wires K1/K2/GND of the car stereo to your car SWC wires.
  2. Click “RESET”.
  3. Press and hold the button that needs to be set on the steering wheel.
  4. Click the button corresponding to the function on the car stereo screen.
  5. Click “OK”.
  6. Repeat 3-5 times to complete the settings of all buttons.
  7. Click “SAVE”.

Note: The steering wheel control function of the Eonon universal 2 din car stereo is controlled by an analog signal. If your car is controlled by the digital signal, you need to purchase a steering wheel control adapter cable to transfer the digital signal to analog signal.

Driving settings: Set up to enable or disable video playback while driving. If the video only has sound but no picture, turn on [Watching video].

  • Playing music: Select [on], the head unit will automatically play the music in the USB device or SD card when a USB device or an SD card is inserted.
  • Reversing X-mirror: Select [on], images on the screen are displayed as mirror-reversed while reversing.
  • Rear view ruler: Select [on], it will display the parking assist guidelines while reversing.

  • Shutdown delay when ACC OFF: Set up the standby time of the head unit after the ACC is turned off. Select [30 seconds], you can turn on the head unit quickly if you turn on ACC in 30 seconds. The head unit will start with a cold start after 30 seconds. Select [Auto sleep], the head unit will go into standby mode permanently.
  • Reversing volume: Select [on]. you can listen to the radio, and music or hear other sounds when reversing.
    Click [attenuation] to set the attenuation level of sound when reversing.

Ways of setting up boot logo

  • Click Setting- > Car-> Factory setting-> password: 126->Car Logo, choose your car logo, click APPLY and restart the car stereo.
1. Place a picture in the root directory of an SD card or USB, and then insert the SD card or USB into the head unit. Click
  • Setting- >Car->Factory setting->password: 126–>Car Logo, and then select User->CUSTOM to set up the car logo.

FAQ

Blank screen/Can’t power on:

  1. Please press the RST button on the car stereo.
  2. Please check if the car stereo has a stable DC12V voltage.
  3. Please check if the car stereo fuse is burnt out.
  4. Please reconnect the BATT +/ACC/GND wires of the car stereo to the BATT +/ACC/GND wires of the original car.

The radio is not working properly:

  1. Please check if the radio area is set correctly.
  2. Please check if the radio antenna is connected properly and reconnect it to have a try.
  3. Please check if the ANT control cable is connected properly and reconnect it to have a try.

No sound:

  1. Please reconnect the 4 sets of speaker output wires in ISO PORT with the interface of the original car speaker.
  2. Please make sure that the amplifier control wire (REM) of the original car is properly connected to the amplifier control wire of the car stereo.

Images do not automatically change while reversing:
Please connect the reverse control wire of the car stereo to the backup camera trigger wire.

No GPS signal:

  1. Please check whether the GPS antenna is connected properly and reconnect it to have a try.
  2. Please confirm whether you’re in an area where the GPS signal is shielded. Please drive for a while to see if the GPS signal is restored.

Cannot connect to WiFi:

  1. Please check whether the WIFI antenna is properly connected and reconnect it to have a try.
  2. Please get as close to the WiFi as possible, or try connecting to your phone’s mobile hotspot;
  3. This car stereo only supports 2.4GHz WiFi and 5 GHz WiFi is not supported. Please make sure the car stereo is connected to 2.4GHz WiFi.

Android Auto is not working:

  1. Please make sure that your phone supports Google services and Android Auto. Please note that some mobile phones don’t support Android Auto, and some mobile phones only support wired Android Auto but not wireless Android Auto.
  2. If your phone supports Android Auto, please install the Android Auto APP from the Play Store before using it.
  3. To use wired Android Auto, please use the original data cable and connect it to the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto” of the head unit.
  4. To use wireless Android Auto, please turn on the WiFi and Bluetooth of your iPhone and connect your phone’s Bluetooth to the head unit’s Bluetooth. Please note that you only need to connect Bluetooth but not WiFi.

CarPlay is not working

  1. To use wired CarPlay, please use the original data cable and connect it to the USB cable labeled “CarPlay/Android Auto” of the head unit.
  2. To use wireless CarPlay, please turn on the WiFi and Bluetooth of your iPhone and connect your phone’s Bluetooth to the head unit’s Bluetooth. Please note that you only need to connect Bluetooth but not WiFi.
