For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the installation site must
meet the following require-ments:
- The floor must be firm, flat and level. Do not place the unit in a hot, humid or very humid environment or near flammable material.
- The socket outlet must be easily accessible so that the plug can be disconnected from the mains in case of emergency. The use of extension cords is not recommended. Long power cords may cause a voltage drop and prevent the motor from operating.
- If you nevertheless have to use an extension cord, make sure that it is not longer than 5 m and has a cross section of at least 1.5 mm². ALWAYS use the extension cord unwound!
START-UP AND ADJUSTMENTS
Before start-up
- Attach the wheels and the foot (see previous point of assembly).
- Screw on the air filter. (Fig. 3)
- Check the oil level with sight glass and, if necessary, top up the oil. Use SAE 15W40 premium oil. (Fig. 4)
- Check the correspondence between the compressor nameplate data and the actual electrical system specifications. A variation of ± 10% with respect to the nominal value is allowed.
- Make sure the compressor pressure switch is in the off position “о” .
- Insert the power cord plug into a suitable socket (Fig. 6).
- The transport plug (Fig. 7.1) must be replaced with the equalizing valve (Fig. 7.2), failure to do so may result in internal damage to the compressed air generation system.
- At this point, the compressor is ready for use.
WARNING: READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL OF THE PNEUMATIC TOOL BEFORE CONNECTING IT TO THE COMPRESSOR.
On / Off
- Pull the pressure switch up to turn on, the compressor starts and injects air into the tank through the supply line (Fig. 8).
- To switch off the compressor, press the switch to turn off. The compressor continues to run according to the automatic cycle until the output line switch is turned off.
WARNING:
- Always disconnect the plug and drain the tank once you have completed your work.
- Always wait at least 10 seconds after the compressor shuts off before restarting it.
Air pressure settings
The following pressures are preset:
- Switch-on pressure: approx. 6 bar.
- Switch-off pressure: approx. 8 bar.
- With the pressure regulator (Fig. 10 ) you can set the desired pressure (0-8 bar). Pay attention to the nameplate of the pneumatic tool you are going to connect.
- The tank pressure can be checked on the pressure gauge provided (Fig. 9).
- All compressors are equipped with a pressure regulator (Fig. 10 – G). By operating the knob with the tap open, turn the regulator clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to decrease it (Fig.11), the air pressure can be regulated to optimize the use of pneumatic tools. After setting the required value, the nut below should be tightened to hold the knob (Fig. 10 – H and Fig.12).
- The set value can be checked on the pressure gauge (Fig. 10).
ATTENTION: Check that the air consumption and maximum working pressure of the pneumatic tool to be used are compatible with the pressure set on the pressure regulator and with the amount of air supplied by the compressor.
Releasing overpressure (adjusting pressure)
- Switch off the compressor.
- Use the overpressure with an idle pneumatic tool.
Draining condensation
Condensation water accumulates at the bottom of the boiler. You should
periodically drain the tank to protect it from corrosion and not restrict its
capacity. (Fig 13)
- Open the drain plug (I) at the bottom of the boiler completely.
- Tilt the compressor to one side so that the drain plug is at the lowest point of the boiler and wait until the condensate water has drained completely.
- Close the drain plug again.
WARNING: Condensation water should only be drained when the boiler is NOT
under pressure.
WARNING: Drain condensate water after each use, or at least once a week.
Safety valve
The safety valve is set to the maximum allowable pressure of the pressure
vessel and protects the compressor. As soon as the air in the vessel reaches
or exceeds the maximum permissible operating pressure, the safety valve opens
and lets the compressed air escape, thus reducing the pressure in the
compressor.
ATTENTION: It is not allowed to adjust the safety valve or to remove the
lock on the connection between the drain nut and its cap.
ATTENTION: ONLY IN CASE OF AIR LEAKAGE THROUGH THE SAME AND DRAINAGE
MAINTENANCE
Turn the drain nut counterclockwise (Fig. 13) to open the safety valve outlet.
The safety valve now audibly releases air. Then retighten the drain nut
clockwise. Repeat this process every 30 operating hours or at least three
times a year.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
ATTENTION Clean and maintain your compressor carefully and regularly.
This is the only way to ensure smooth operation and a long service life.
Irrespective of the number of jobs or performances, service and clean the unit
after each use. As far as possible, inspections, adjustments and maintenance
