INSTRUCTION MANUAL & WARRANTY
CONTACT GRILL – TEPPANYAKI – PANINI PRESS
Before using this appliance, please read the following instructions carefully. We recommend that you keep these instructions. For your own safety, you must follow these safety instructions when using electrical appliances.

 GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using your appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following.

  1. Read all instructions prior to using.
  2. Do not allow this item to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. This appliance is not intended for use by children.
  3. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  5. Do not use with damaged power cord or plug. Do not use if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped in water. Return it to the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person for examination, repair or adjustment.
  6.  It is recommended to regularly inspect the appliance to avoid a hazard.
  7.  To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse power cord, plug or the appliance in water or other liquids. This may cause personal injury and/or damage to the product. See instructions for cleaning.
  8. Fully unwind the power cord before use.
  9. Never remove the plug from the socket by pulling the power cord. Always unplug from the plug gripping the area.
  10. Do not let power cord hang over the edge of the table, counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near a gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Do not let the power cord become knotted.
  11. Unplug from power outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow unit to cool before removing parts and before cleaning the appliance.
  12. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
  13. Any maintenance other than cleaning should be performed at the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  14. Use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock, injury or damage to the product.
  15. The unit is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  16. Do not use outdoors.
  17. This appliance is for household use only.
  18. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose. Misuse may cause injury.
  19.  To protect against fire, do not operate the unit in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
  20. Extreme caution should be exercised when using or moving the appliance with food or other hot liquids.
  21. Do not move the appliance during cooking.
  22. Use only a level, dry and heat-resistant surface. Do not place the contact grill on the edge of a bench or table during operation. Ensure the surface is level, clean and free of water and other substances.
  23. Position the appliance well away from walls, curtains and other heat or steam sensitive materials. Minimum of 20 cm in distance.
  24. When using the appliance, provide adequate space above and on all sides for air circulation.
  25. To eliminate a choking hazard for young children, remove and safely discard the protective cover that is fitted to the power plug on the appliance.
  26. Remove any packaging material and promotional stickers before using the appliance for the first time.
  27. Always ensure the appliance is properly assembled before use.
  28. Never plug in or switch on the appliance without having the grill plate.
  29.  Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning appliance.
  30. Do not touch hot surfaces.
  31.  The use of accessory attachment not recommended may result in fire, electrical shock, or risk of injury to persons.
  32. Do not place on or near hot gas or electric burners, or in heated oven.
  33.  Warning: to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, only authorized personnel should do repairs.
  34. Do not operate your appliance in garage or under a wall cabinet. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet when storing. Not doing so could create a risk of fire.

SHORT POWER CORD INSTRUCTIONS

  • A short power cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer power cord.
  • Longer extension power cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  • If an extension power cord is used: The marked electrical rating of the extension power cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer power cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over unintentionally.

KNOW YOUR CONTROL PANEL

BEFORE FIRST USE:

  • Remove all packaging, stickers and various accessories on the inside and outside of the appliance and check that all items have been received in good condition or check for any defects.
  • Tear up all plastic bags and dispose of properly as they can pose a suffocation or choking risk to children.
  • Remove the plates by pressing the unlocking buttons and take them out.
  • Before using them for the first time, clean the plates with warm water and a mild cleaning agent. Then thoroughly dry the components.
  • Insert the plates, make sure that plates insert into the place correctly.
  • The plates have two sides, one is grilled side, the other is flat side; choose the desired side when inserting plate.
  • Ensure that drip tray is inserted correctly at the back of appliance.
  • Connect the plug to a properly installed socket, ensure that the voltage matches your domestic power supply.

USE:

  • Plug in, beep sounds, all indication lights turn on and then off. “OFF” shows on display.
  • Select “program” function (Beef, Fish, Chicken, Sausage, Hamburger, Bacon) by turning the left program function knob, or press the “upper & lower plates” button or the “lower plates” button to select both grill plates or only the lower grill plate according to your own preference. Default temperature (flashing) and default time for selected function appear on display.
  • Adjust cooking temperature and/or time by turning the right “temp/ time” knob, press the knob to alternate between both functions.
  • After setting time and temperature, press “start/stop” button to start preheating (machine will be turned back to OFF without operation after 15 seconds). “PRE” and selected function will appear on display.
  • After preheating, the machine beeps five times, temperature and time flashes. Put the food on the plate then press “start/stop” button to start the cooking, time will be counted down.
  • Without pressing “start/stop” button within 30 minutes, machine will be turned off, “OFF” shows on display.
  • When countdown is over, the machine beeps, “done” appears on display.
  • Without any operation within 30 minutes, machine will be turned off, “OFF” shows on display.
  •  Press “program” function knob for next operation, or press “off” button to finish the operation.

Remark:

  • During cooking, you could press “start/stop” button to pause current working mode (machine will be turned off without any operation within 30 minutes after pressing “start/stop” button). Press “start/stop” button again to continue working.
  • During cooking, you could press the “off” button to exit current working modus, or re-select desired function Beef, Fish, Chicken, Sausage, Hamburger, Bacon, Both Grill, or Lower Grill).
  • During cooking, you could turn the right function knob “temp/ time” to adjust time/temperature, the machine will start cooking according to new time/temperature within 3 seconds.
  • When machine is in standby mode (“OFF” appears on display), you could press right knob “temp/time” knob for 5 seconds to shift the temperature unit between °C and °F.
  • The machine will memory last set temperature and time. When machine is turned on, the temperature and time of last operation will appear on display.
  • To cancel memory function, in standby mode (“OFF” appears on display) press the “off” button for 3 seconds. Then the default mode will be as per original again.

How to use flat grill mode:

  • Use the handle to move the top cover to open position (picture 1), press the top cover to level with the handle (picture 2), then press the handle & top cover to flat position (picture 3).
  • Please open the top plate to 180 degrees (flat position) before preheating.

Time and temperature range for each function:
REMEMBER:
The appliance has a memory for time and temperature. When the machine is turned on, the last used temperature and time will appear on the display. To cancel the memory function, press the Off button for 3 seconded when the appliance is in standby mode (“OFF” is shown on display). After that the default modes will be returned to factory settings.

Helpful tips:

  • For satisfactory results, add a little cooking oil to the plates after preheating is done.
  • To reduce the preheating time, close the grill plates during preheating.
  • Only using the handle to open or close the top cover.
  • When you open the contact grill, some grease can come from the upper plate. This is normal, you can place your contact grill  on a heat-resistant mat for easy cleaning.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • Always disconnect the mains plug from the electrical outlet when the appliance is not being used.
  • Disconnect the mains plug from the electrical outlet and let the appliance cool down completely.
  • Use a silicone, plastic or wooden scraping tool to remove the residue from cooking plate.
  • Press the unlock buttons to remove the plates from the grill. Be  sure that the plate cooled down completely before handling.
  • After removing the plates, you can clean these in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.
  • Remove the drip tray at the back of the appliance, empty the drip tray into a heat-resistant pan, rinse it in warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly later. (Remark: grill plate and drip tray are dishwasher safe.)
    Note: Before removing the drip tray, make sure that the oil or oil residues are cooled down, it can cause burn injuries when it’s too hot.

User maintenance

  • Always exercise caution when handling the unit during cooking.
    Open and close the unit by using the handle only. Do not touch the4 top cover during or immediately after cooking, as the top plate is hot during cooking.

  •  It is recommended to wear oven mitts when handling the unit to avoid burns.

  • Never use metal utensils, as they will scratch the coating of the plate.

  • Always let the appliance cool down for 30 minuten before cleaning.

Error code:
If you see any of the following error codes (E1, E2, E3, E4), please unplug your contact grill and do not use it. You can contact our customer service by email at [email protected].

STORAGE

  • Do not store the appliance with metal utensils or sharp items, as this may lead to scratches or damage to the surface.
  • Always ensure your appliance is clean and dry before storing it. Store your appliance carefully.

SPARE PARTS
Please note that no spare parts are available for this appliance.

 DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

This appliance is marked according to the European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The product may not be treated as  household waste. Instead bring it to a central collection point for the  recycling of electrical and electronic household appliances. For more detailed information  about treatment, recovery and recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product. Correct disposal helps prevent adverse consequences for the environment and human health. By reusing, recycling and/or other use of old appliances, you make an important contribution to protecting our environment.
Only valid for United Kingdom:
According to The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/3113) (as amended), products that are no longer usable must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
WARRANTY
For products sold within the European Economic Area and UK, you benefit from a 24-month warranty on the product as protection against a lack of conformity in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/771 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK).
The warranty only applies if you use the product for non-professional use. We are in any event not liable for any defects caused due to:

  • non-compliance with the care and use instructions;
  • normal wear and tear (e.g. discolorations or scratches); and/or
  •  impact of external factors, e.g. weather damage, transport damage, damage caused by knocks or shocks.

In the event of a lack of conformity, depending on the circumstances,

  • the product will be repaired;
  • the product will be replaced;
  • a proportionate part of the price paid for the product will be repaid; or
  • the entire price paid for the product will be repaid.

Please do retain proof of purchase or delivery of the product mentioning the purchase or delivery date. You will need such proof of purchase or delivery if you wish to exercise the remedies for a lack of conformity.
These provisions do not affect any statutory rights you as a customer have under applicable national regulations (e.g. on  the sale of consumer goods), which may vary from country to country. These provisions are for information purposes only and do not constitute a commercial warranty giving you different rights than those you have under applicable national regulations.
