INSTALLATION:

Find a location close to the register which won’t interfere with transactions. The FlashTest is quite small, and should be easy to place.
You’ll need a few inches of clearance on the front (UV light end), and just to the left and right of the unit. Be sure that your location is close enough to a wall plug or power strip.
Clean and dry the counter location for the FlashTest. The adhesive strips work best on a smooth clean surface.
Remove the backing on the adhesive strip(s), and press the unit firmly into place. Remember that the front of the FlashTest should be facing the cashier.
Insert the AC power connector into the small socket located on the back of the unit, and plug into an AC outlet.

OPERATION:

The FlashTest uses 3 tests for counterfeit US paper money.
When plugged in, the Flash Test is already on and ready for use. It’s not necessary to turn off the machine or unplug. It’s always ready to go.

MANUFACTORY WARANTY:
FOR A PERIOD OF 90 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE, THIS PRODUCT WILL BE REPLACED, OR THE PURCHASE PRICE REFUNDED, IF DEFECTIVE IN MANUFACTURE. INK TEST

FOR GENUINE US CURRENCY INK

US paper money is printed with special ink; if the bill looks and feels normal this may be the only test which is necessary. Ink is concentrated on the top front of the bill as shown. Quickly drag the top front of the bill over the ink sensor (the small metal knob below the white platter). A genuine bill will activate a green light located beneath the white platter. A small beep will be emitted, indicating that the bill is good. (you may choose to deactivate using the small switch on the back of the unit). This reliable test takes just a second.

WATERMARK TEST

BACKLIGHT REVEALS WATERMARK PORTRAIT

All US bills (except the $1 note) have a watermark located in the blank area on the right side of the bill, just to the right of the green treasury seal. Press the white button to activate the white LEDs beneath the platter and place the blank area of the bill on top. This should reveal the watermark. The white light will stay on for about 10 seconds if you need to test a second or third bill. On $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills, the watermark mirrors the portrait in the center of the bill. On older $5 bills Lincoln will appear. On newer $5 bills, the number “5” will appear. Watermarks should look fairly crisp and realistic. Make certain that the watermark and the portrait match. If there is no watermark, or the mark looks muddy or cartoonish, the bill may be counterfeit. The security strip may also be seen on all bills $5 – $100 by sliding the bill on the platter until it becomes visible. Fine printing which indicates the bill denomination can be seen

UV SECURITY STRIP TEST

UV LIGHT REVEALS EMBEDDED SECURITY THREAD

All US bills (except for the $1 note) have a plastic security strip embedded in the paper. These strips glow under ultraviolet light. Each denomination has a different location, and each glows in a particular color. The guide located on the top of the Flash Test indicates the color of the strip for each bill, and the side of the bill where the strip should be located. If the strip does not appear, or is not the correct color or location for the denomination, the bill may be counterfeit.

Under the small hood located in the front of the unit are 2 powerful UV lights. To activate, simply press the UV light button. The UV lights will stay on for about 10 seconds. Using the guide to determine which side the strip is on, slide the bill under the hood until you see the illuminated strip.

PLEASE DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE UV LED LIGHTS.
PROLONGED EXPOSURE CAN CAUSE EYE DAMAGE. PLEASE KEEP THIS UNIT AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
