To open the door, hold the door handle and pull the door. Close the door by pressing it without excessive force until it clicks shut.

BEFORE THE FIRST WASH CYCLE

To remove any residual water used in testing by the manufacturer, we recommend that you carry out a short wash cycle without laundry.

  1. Open the tap.
  2. Close the door.
  3. Add a small amount of detergent (maximum 1/3 of the quantity the detergent manufacturer recommends for lightly soiled laundry) to the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.
  4. Select and start programme “Synthetics” at 60°C (see separate programme chart”).
PREPARATION OF THE WASHING

Sorting Laundry:

  1. Sort the laundry according to the following criteria:
    • Type of fabric/care label symbol: Separate by fabric types such as cotton, mixed fibers, easy care/synthetics, wool, and handwash items.
    • Color: Separate colored and white items. Wash new colored articles separately.
    • Size: You can wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficiency and distribution in the drum.
    • Delicates: Wash small items (e.g., nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (e.g., bras) in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zipper. Always remove curtain rings or wash curtains with the rings inside a cotton bag.

Preparation Before Washing:

  1. Empty all pockets: Remove coins, safety pins, etc., to prevent damage to your laundry, the appliance drum, and the tub.
  2. Fasteners: Close zips and fasten buttons or hooks; loose belts or ribbons should be tied together.

Stain Removal:

  • For various types of stains, follow these guidelines:
    • Blood, milk, eggs, etc.: These are generally removed by the automatic enzyme phase of the program.
    • Red wine, coffee, tea, grass, fruit stains, etc.: Add a stain remover to the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser.
    • Pre-treat heavily soiled areas with stain remover if necessary.

Dyeing and Bleaching:

  • Only use dyes and bleaches suitable for washing machines.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Be cautious as plastic and rubber parts of the washing machine can be stained by dyes or bleaches.

Loading the Laundry:

  1. Open the door.
  2. Load the articles one at a time loosely into the drum without overfilling. Follow the load sizes given in the program chart to avoid overloading.
  3. Close the door.

Detergents and Additives:

  • Keep detergents and additives in a safe, dry place out of the reach of children.

  • The choice of detergent depends on fabric type, color, wash temperature, degree, and type of soiling.

  • Use specific detergents for washing wool and garments made of microfibers (like sports or swimwear).

  • Be aware that whitish residues on dark fabrics can result from insoluble compounds used in phosphate-free powder detergents. If this occurs, shake or brush out the fabric or use liquid detergents.

  • Use detergents and additives specifically produced for domestic washing machines.

  • When using descaling agents, dyes, or bleaches for the prewash (if available on your model), ensure they are suitable for domestic washing machines and won’t damage your washing machine.

  • Do not use any solvents (e.g., turpentine, benzine) or machine wash fabrics treated with solvents or flammable liquids.

  • Pay attention to using liquid detergent when activating specific options like “prewash” or “Start Delay” (if available on your model).

  • Follow dosage recommendations on the detergent pack based on the degree of soiling, the size of the wash (full load, half load, minimum load), and the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • If there is no reference to a certain wash load on the detergent pack: the detergent manufacturers usually refer their dosing recommendations to 4.5 kg laundry for heavy-duty detergent and 2.5 kg laundry for delicate detergent. water hardness in your area (ask for information from your water company). Soft water requires less detergent than hard water.

Too much detergent can result in excess foam formation, which reduces washing efficiency.

If the washing machine detects too much foam, it may prevent spinning, or prolong the program duration and increase the water consumption (see also remarks on foam formation in the “Troubleshooting Guide”). Insufficient detergent may result in grey laundry and also calcify the heating system, drum, and hoses.

Detergent and Additives Placement:

The detergent drawer typically has three chambers, as indicated in the picture labeled “A.”

Prewash Chamber:

  • Use this chamber for adding detergent for the prewash cycle.

Main Wash Chamber:

  • Use this chamber for adding detergent for the main wash.
  • You can also add stain remover and water softener in this chamber.

Softener Chamber:

  • Use this chamber for adding fabric softener and liquid starch.
  • Add additives only up to the “MAX” mark indicated in the chamber.
  • If you are using liquid detergent, close the dispenser immediately after filling it with detergent.

Using Chlorine Bleach:

  • Wash your laundry in the desired programme (Cotton, Synthetics), adding an appropriate amount of chlorine bleach to the SOFTENER chamber (close the detergent dispenser carefully).
  • Immediately after the end of programme, start the “Rinse and Spin” programme to eliminate any residual bleach smell; if you want, you can add a softener.
  • Never put both chlorine bleach and softener into the softener chamber at the same time.
  • Prefer to use bleaches on an oxygen basis; in this case, follow the instructions of the manufacturer.

Using Starch:

  • Select the “Rinse and Spin” programme and check that the spin speed is adjusted to not more than 800 rpm.
  • Start the programme, pull out the detergent dispenser so that you can see approximately 3 cm of the softener chamber.
  • Pour the starch solution prepared into the softener chamber while the water is running into the detergent dispenser.

DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER/CLEANING THE FILTER

We recommend that you check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year, especially:

  • If the “Clean pump” indication lights up:
  • If the appliance is not draining properly or if it fails to perform spin cycles.

If the washing machine stands in a room prone to frost, you have to drain residual water after each wash to avoid damage. IMPORTANT: make sure the water has cooled before draining the appliance.

  1. Stop the appliance and unplug it.

  2. To open the plinth (depending on the model):

    • Push down the tabs right and left (if available) to release the plinth and remove it (picture “A”).

    • Remove the plinth by using the siphon of the detergent dispenser: push downwards one side of the plinth with your hand, then push the siphon’s nose into the gap between the plinth and front panel and pry open the plinth (picture “B”).

  3. Place a container near the washing machine.

  4. If your washing machine has an emergency drain hose:

  5. Unclip the emergency drain hose, or pull out the emergency drain hose from the washing machine’s base (depending on the model).

  6. If there is no emergency drain hose: place a broad, flat container beneath the filter (picture “D”). Ignore steps 5 – 8 and proceed with 9.

  7. Hold the emergency hose’s end into the container and remove the stopper (picture “C”).

  8. Wait until all the water has drained, then refix the stopper at the hose’s end (picture “E”).

  9. Refix the emergency drain hose to the clip, or push it back into the washing machine’s base (depending on the model).

  10. Lay an absorbable cotton cloth (e.g. a towel) on the floor in front of the filter.

  11. Slowly open the filter by turning it counter-clockwise (picture “F”); wait until all the water has drained, then unscrew the filter completely and remove it.

  12. Tilt the appliance forward carefully (a second person must help you) to allow the water to flow out completely.

  13. Clean the filter and the filter chamber; check that the pump rotor in the filter chamber moves freely.

  14. Re-insert the filter and screw it in clockwise as far as it will go.

  15. Pour about 1 liter of water into the detergent dispenser to reactivate the “Ecosystem”. Check that the filter is inserted properly and securely and no water comes out.

  16. Reinstall the plinth (picture “G”); if necessary, tilt the washing machine slightly backward to do that (a second person must help you).

  17. Plug in the washing machine. It is now ready for operation again.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Appliance Exterior and Control Panel:

  • Clean with a soft damp cloth.
  • If necessary, use some soapy water or a mild neutral detergent (do not use detergents containing solvents, abrasive detergents, window or general-purpose cleaners – they may harm the surfaces).

Appliance Interior:

  • After each washing, leave the door open for some time to allow the inside of the appliance to dry.
  • If you never or seldom wash your laundry at 95°C, we recommend occasionally running a 95°C program without laundry, adding a small amount of detergent, to keep the interior of the appliance clean.

Door Seal:

  • Dry the door seal after each washing with an absorbent cotton cloth; make sure that the door seal is completely dry before closing the door of the empty washing machine.
  • Check the condition of the door seal periodically.

Filter:

  • Check and clean the filter regularly, at least two or three times a year (see “Draining Residual Water/Cleaning The Filter”).

Do not use flammable fluids to clean the appliance.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser

  1. Pull out the dispenser drawer until it stops. Press your finger on the space of the siphon being marked with “PUSH” (picture “A”) to release the drawer and pull it out completely.
  2. Remove the siphon from the softener chamber by pulling it upwards (picture “B”).
  3. Wash all the parts under running water.
  4. Clean the dispenser compartment with a damp cloth.
  5. Refit the siphon in the softener chamber by pushing it down until it stops; then push the dispenser drawer back into the dispenser compartment.

Water inlet hose(s) (picture C, D, or E – depending on the model)

  • Check the inlet hose regularly for brittleness and cracks and replace it if necessary using a new hose of the same type.
  • The inlet hose as shown in picture “D” has a safety valve to protect the appliance against uncontrolled water inlet; if the safety valve inspection window is red, the safety valve has been activated and the hose must be exchanged. Contact our After-Sales Service or your specialist dealer to obtain a new inlet hose. For unscrewing the inlet hose as shown in picture “D”, you must push down the
  • release the lever while unscrewing it.
  • If your inlet hose has a transparent hose coating (pict. “E”), periodically check the colour of the transparent coating. If the transparent hose shows a local dark colour change, this is an indication that the hose may have a leak and should be replaced. Contact our After-Sales Service team or specialist dealer to obtain a replacement hose.

Cleaning the mesh filter in the water inlet hose(s)

  1. Close the tap and loosen the inlet hose on the tap.
  2. Clean the internal mesh filter and screw the water inlet hose back onto the tap.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Your washing machine is equipped with various automatic safety functions. These enable faults to be detected in good time and the safety system can react appropriately. These faults are frequently so minor that they can be removed within a few minutes.

Problem Causes – Solutions – Tips
The appliance does not start, no indicator lamps are on •  Plug is not

properly inserted in socket.

•  Socket or fuse does not function correctly (use a table lamp or similar appliance to test it).

•  The “On/Off” button has not been pressed (if available on your model).

The appliance does not start although “Start(Pause)” has been pressed| • Door is not properly closed.

•  The “Child lock/Lock buttons” feature has been activated (if available on your model). To unlock the buttons, push the two buttons marked with the key symbol simultaneously and hold them at least for 3 seconds. The key symbol on the display disappears and the programme can be started.

The appliance stops during the program, and the “Start(Pause)” light blinks| •  “Rinse hold” is activated and the “Rinse hold” symbol  lights up in the programme sequence indicator. Press the “ Start(Pause) ” button to start the drain programme.

•  Programme has been changed – reselect desired programme and press “ Start/Pause ”.

•  Programme has been interrupted and eventually door has been opened – close the door and restart programme by pressing “ Start(Pause) ”.

•  The appliance’s safety system has been activated (see “Description of failure indications” in your programme chart).

• The water tap is not opened or the water inlet hose is kinked or blocked (“Water tap

closed” indication lights up).

The detergent dispenser contains residues from detergent and/or additives| •   Water entering is not enough; the mesh filters of the water supply could be blocked (see “Care And Maintenance”).
The appliance vibrates during the spin cycle| •   Transport bolts have not been removed; before using the machine, the transport bolts must be removed.

•   Appliance is not level / not standing firmly on all four feet (see separate

“Installation Guide”).

Final spin results are poor| The appliance has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy items are loaded (e.g. bathrobes), this system may reduce the spin speed automatically or even interrupt the spin completely to protect the washing machine.

•   Heavy item(s) prevented spinning; add smaller articles of laundry and repeat the spin cycle.

•   Excessive foam formation prevented spinning; select and start “Rinse & Spin” programme. Avoid excessive detergent dosing (see “Detergents And Additives”).

•  “Spin” button has been set to a low spin speed.

The washing  machine  is at a standstill for several minutes in the middle of a running program; the wash program seems not to proceed| Normal function of the washing machine used for optimizing the rinse phase. One reason for such a pause can be that you might have used too much detergent; the washing machine automatically interrupts the programme to have the foam reduced. This standstill may be repeated several times until the foam reduction is sufficient to continue the wash cycle. If the foam persists, the red “Service” indicator will light up and the display will show “F18” or “Fod” – refer to the instructions concerning the “Service” indication on the next pages in this case.
Detergent residues on laundry after wash| Whitish residues on dark fabrics are caused by insoluble compounds used in phosphate-free powder detergents:

– avoid overdosing of detergent; use liquid detergent; select the “Intensive Rinse” option if possible; brush out the fabric

Program duration is considerably longer or shorter as indicated in the “program chart” or on the display (if available)| The normal function of the washing machine to adapt to factors that can affect the program duration, like excessive foam formation, load unbalances due to heavy laundry items, prolonged heating time resulting from low inlet water temperature, etc.. Moreover, the sensing system of the washing machine adapts the programme duration to the size of the wash load.

Depending on these factors, the duration is recalculated during the programme and updated if necessary; during such periods, an animation appears on the display (if available). For small loads, the program time indicated in

the “programme chart” may be reduced by up to 50%.

Failure indication lights up Description – Causes – Solutions

“Water tap closed”

| The appliance has no or insufficient water supply. The “ Start(Pause) ” light blinks. Check whether:

• The water tap is fully open and the water supply pressure is sufficient.

    • Push the plastic caps delivered with your washing machine on the holes to close them (pict. 2d).

ADJUSTMENT OF THE FEET

  • The appliance must be installed on a solid and level floor surface (if necessary use a spirit level).
  • If the appliance is to be installed on a wooden or floating floor, distribute the weight by placing it on a sheet of plywood measuring at least 60 x 60 cm and a thickness of at least 3 cm which is secured to the floor. If the floor is uneven, adjust the 4 leveling feet as required; do not insert pieces of wood, etc. under the feet.
  • Screw out the washing machine´s feet by hand with 2-3 clockwise turns and then slacken the locknut by a wrench (see pict. 3, 4).
  • Slightly lift the machine and adjust the height of the foot revolving it (pict. 4).
  • Important: tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing (pict. 5, 6).

CONNECT THE WATER INLET HOSE

  • If the water inlet hose is not already installed, screw by hand the bent end of the inlet hose to the valve on the washing machine‘s back (pict. 7, 8).
  • Screw by hand the straight end of the inlet hose to the tap, tightening the nut.

Attention:

  • No kinks in the hose!
  • The appliance must not be connected to the mixing tap of an un-pressurized water heater.
  • Check the water-tightness of the connections by turning the tap completely on.
  • If the hose is too short, replace it with a suitable length of pressure-resistant hose (1000 kPa min, EN 50084 approved type). If you need a longer water stop hose, contact our After Sales Service or your dealer.
  • Check the inlet hose regularly for brittleness and cracks and replace if necessary.
  • The washing machine can be connected without a backflow valve.

    • Make sure there are no kinks in the drain hose.
    • Secure the hose so that it cannot fall down.
    • Small hand basins are not appropriate.
    • To make an extension, use a hose of the same type and secure the connections with clips.
    • Height for siphon-drain hose connection must be a minimum of 60 cm and a maximum of 125 cm
    • Max. Overall drain hose length: 2,50 m (in this case, the maximum height for fixation is 90 cm).
