MYVALLOX CONTROL PANEL AND MYVALLOX SETUP CONTROL PANEL

Setup preparations

  •  The setup can be completed by using an MV control panel integratedinto the unit or a separate setup control panel.
  • If the setup control panel is used for the setup, disconnect the ventilation unit from the mains.
  • Connect the setup control panel to the MV unit’s connection box.
  • In Vallox 51K MV and Vallox 51 MV units, the setup control panel is connected to the connection box inside the unit.
  • Close the door of the Vallox 51K MV or the Vallox 51 MV unit.
  • Plug the ventilation unit back into the mains. If this is the first setup of the unit, the unit starts up in setup mode.
  • Set the language, time and date
  • Select the user level of the user.
  • Select whether parental controls are used.
  • Next, the Air volume adjustment menu is displayed.

NOTE
If this is not the first setup of the unit, press Menu. Go to Expert settings -> Save and restore settings -> Air volume adjustment.

Set the supply airflow for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply air valves.
  • Set the percentage of the supply air fan.
  • Press the Arrow to proceed.

Set the extract airflow for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the extract air valves.
  • Set the percentage of the extract air fan.
  • Confirm the percentage of the extract air fan by pressing OK.
  • The display shows the higher fan percentage of the At home mode.
  • The adjustment of the airflows of the At home mode is now complete• Lock the valves.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the At home mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Confirm the settings of the At home mode by pressing OK.
  • The fan percentage of the Away mode is displayed.

Set the airflow for the Away mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.
  • Set the fan percentage of the Away mode.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the Away mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Confirm the settings of the Away mode by pressing OK.
  • The supply/extract air ratio is the same as that of the At home mode.
  • The settings of the Boost mode are displayed.

Set the airflow for the Boost mode

  • Select whether the timing of the Boost mode is on or off.
  • If on, set the duration of the boost.
  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Set the fan percentage.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the Boost mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Confirm the settings of the Boost mode by pressing OK.
  • The supply/extract air ratio is the same as that of the At home mode.
  • The Custom settings are displayed.

Set the supply and extract airflows for the Custom mode
NOTE
The Custom mode can be used for purposes such as a fireplace switch or to compensate for the extract airflow created by the cooker hood (see pages 10–11).

  • Ensure that the timer is turned on.
  • Set the duration of the Custom mode.
  • Increase the percentage of the supply air fan by the required amount.
  • Set the efficiency of the extract air fan to the same level as in the At home mode.
  • If there is no fireplace in the home, use the same fan percentages as in the At home mode.
  • Set the supply air temperature for the Custom mode
  • Confirm the settings of the Custom mode by pressing OK.
  • Confirm the setup by pressing OK.

Completing the setup

  • The setup is now complete the unit will start up in the Away mode.
  • Go to the Save and restore settings menu.
  • Save the setup settings.
  • If you make changes to any settings later on, such as the settings of analogic or digital outlets or other settings, do not forget to save the setup settings.

Setup preparations

  • If this is the first setup of the unit, the unit starts up in setup mode.
  • If this is not the first setup of the unit, press Menu.
  • Press Arrow to go to Expert settings.
  • Go to the Save settings menu.
  • Press Arrow to go to Start setup.

NOTE
Restoring factory settings will start setup.
NOTE
Do not restore factory settings if Modbus or other settings have been made. Restoring factory settings will delete all settings that have been made.

  • Press OK.
  • Choose language, time and date.
  • Press OK.
  • The fan settings are now displayed.

Set the supply airflow for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply air valves.
  • Set the percentage of the supply air fan.
  • Press OK to proceed.

Set the extract airflow for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the extract air valves.
  • Set the percentage of the extract air fan.
  • Confirm the percentage of the extract air fan by pressing OK.
  • The adjustment of the airflows of the At home mode is now completePress OK to confirm completion of the setup. The control panel will start up again.
  •  Lock the valves.

Set the airflows for the Away mode

  • Press Menu.
  • The ventilation mode settings are displayed.
  • Press OK.
  • The Away mode settings icon is displayed.
  • Press OK.
  • The Away mode settings are displayed.
  • Press Edit.
  • The fan speed of the Away mode is displayed.
  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.
  • Set the fan percentage of the Away mode.
  • The supply/extract air ratio is the same as that of the At home mode.
  • Press OK.
  • Press Arrow to go to the supply air temperature setting.
  • Press Edit.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the Away mode.
  • Press the OK button.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Confirm the settings of the Away mode by pressing Back.
  • Press the Right arrow button.

Complete the rest of the settings for the At home mode

  • The settings of the At home mode are displayed.
  • Press OK.
  • Complete the settings for the At home mode in the same way as for the Away mode.
  • You do not need to adjust the fan percentage any more.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the At home mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Press Back.
  • Press Right arrow.
  • The settings of the Boost mode are displayed.

Set the airflows for the Boost mode

  • Press Edit.
  • The fan speed of the Boost mode is displayed.
  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.
  • Set the fan percentage of the Boost mode.
  • The supply/extract air ratio is the same as that of the At home mode.
  • Press OK.
  • Complete the settings for the Boost mode in the same way as for the Away and At home modes.
  • Check that the timer of the Boost mode is on and set the suitable duration of boost.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the Boost mode.
  • Press Back.
  • Press Right arrow.
  • The Custom settings are displayed.

Set the supply and extract airflows for the Custom mode
NOTE
The Custom mode can be used for purposes such as a fireplace switch or to compensate for the extract airflow created by the cooker hood (see pages 10–11).

  • Check that the timer is turned on.
  • Set the duration of the Custom mode.
  • Increase the percentage of the supply air fan by the required amount.
  • Set the efficiency of the extract air fan to the same level as in the At home mode.
  • If there is no fireplace in the home, use the same fan percentages as in the At home mode.
  • Set the supply air temperature for the Custom mode.
  • Confirm the settings of the Custom mode by pressing Back.
  • Press OK.

Completing the setup

  • Airflow settings are now complete.
  • Go to the Save and restore settings menu.
  • Press Menu.
  • Press Arrow to go to Expert settings.
  • Press OK.
  • Press Arrow to go to Save settings.
  • Press OK.
  • Confirm the saving of the setup settings.
  • Press Back, until the Away mode icon is displayed.
  • The setup is now complete and the unit is running in the Away mode.
  • If you make changes to any settings later on, such as the settings of analogic or digital outlets or other settings, do not forget to save the setup settings.

COMPUTER

Setup preparations

  • These instructions apply to the Windows10 operating system
  • Check the following settings on your computer:
  • Enable network search.
  • Enable the sharing of files and printers.
  • Making changes to the settings require admin rights.
  • Disconnect the ventilation unit from the mains electricity supply.
  • Connect a LAN cable between the computer and the ventilation unit.
  • Plug the ventilation unit back into the mains.
  • Open Resource management → Network on the computer.
  • Double click on the icon with the text Vallox and a number sequence.
  • The number sequence at the end changes.

Setup wizard

  • When the ventilation unit starts up for the first time, the setup wizard automatically opens in the browser.
  • Set the language, time and date
  • Navigate the menu by pressing Next.
  • Choose the user level of the ventilation unit and, if necessary, activate parental controls. When you choose “normal” or “limited” user level, the user’s access to the settings can be limited. Parental controls prevent unintentional use of the control panel.

NOTE
If this is not the first setup of the unit, go to Airflow adjustment after setup. After setup, supply and extract airflows can be adjusted via the Operations menu or by restoring the factory settings, which will start the setup wizard from the beginning.
NOTE
Restoring factory settings will delete all settings that have been made. If you decide to restore the factory settings, copy, at least, the unit’s Modbus, relay and input settings first and set them after the setup.

Set the supply airflow for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Set the percentage of the supply air fan.
  • Set the percentage of the extract air fan.
  • The adjustment of the airflows of the At home mode is now complete.
  • Lock the valves.
  • Go to the At home menu.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the At home mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.

Set the airflow for the Away mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.
  • Select Away in the menu.
  • Set the fan percentage of the Away mode.

NOTE
The supply/extraction fan ratio is the same as in the At home mode.

  • Set the supply air temperature of the Away mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Airflow settings for the Away mode are now complete.

Set the airflow for the Boost mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Select Boost in the menu.
  • Set the fan percentage of the Boost mode.

NOTE
The supply/extraction fan ratio is the same as in the At home mode.

  • Set the supply air temperature of the Boost mode.
  • Ensure that humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls are on.
  • Select whether the Boost mode timer is on or off. When the Boost mode timer is on, the ventilation unit automatically returns to the previous mode (At home or Away), when the duration of the Boost mode ends. The duration of boost is set at Duration.
  • Set supply and extract airflows for Custom mode.
  • Increase the percentage of the supply air fan by the required amount.
  • Set the efficiency of the extract air fan to the same level as in the At home mode.
  • Set the duration of the timer and ensure that the timer is on.
  • Set the supply air temperature for the Custom mode.
  • A summary of the setting will appear on the display.
  • Press Finish.
  • The setup is now complete.

Adjustment of airflows after setup

  • After setup, supply and extract airflows can be adjusted via the Operations menu or by restoring the factory settings, which will start the setup wizard from the beginning.

NOTE
Restoring factory settings will delete all settings that have been made. If you decide to restore the factory settings, copy, at least, the unit’s Modbus, relay and input settings first and set them after the setup.

Adjusting the supply and extract airflows via the Operations menu

  • During the setting of airflows, the HR cell bypass must be set to heat recovery, and the cooling function or humidity or carbon dioxide sensor must not increase the unit’s speed.
  • Go to the Operations menu and set the humidity/carbon dioxide controls off for the Home, Away and Boost modes.
  • Choose the desired ventilation mode and modify the mode settings by pressing the pen icon.
  • Turn off humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls.
  • Confirm by pressing OK.
  • Go to Expert settings.
  • Got to Bypass settings of the HR cell and select HR cell bypass: Off.
  • Go to Control settings and select Temperature control method: Supply air or extract air

Set the supply and extract airflows for the At home mode

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.
  • Go to Basic fan settings and ventilation modes in Expert settings
  • Set the percentage of the supply air fan.
  • Set the percentage of the extract air fan.
  • The setting of the airflow and the supply/extract fan ratio for the At home mode is now complete.
  • Lock the valves.
  • Press the pen icon to select At home mode and At home settings.
  • Turn on humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls.
  • Set the supply air temperature of the At home mode.
  • Confirm by pressing OK.

Set the airflow for the Away mode

  • Select the Away mode and turn it On.

  • Select Away settings by pressing the pen icon.

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.

  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.

  • Set the fan percentage of the Away mode.
    NOTE
    The supply/extraction fan ratio is the same as in the At home mode.

  • Set the supply air temperature of the Away mode.

  • Turn on humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls.

  • Confirm by pressing OK.

Set the airflow for the Boost mode

  • Select the Boost mode and turn it On.

  • Select Boost settings by pressing the pen icon.

  • Measure the airflows from the supply and extract air valves.

  • Do not change the adjustment settings of the valves.
    NOTE
    The supply/extraction fan ratio is the same as in the At home mode.

  • Set the supply air temperature of the Boost mode.

  • Select whether the Boost mode timer is in use and set the duration of boost.

  • Turn on humidity and carbon dioxide -based controls.

Set the supply and extract airflows for the Custom mode

  • Select Custom in the menu.
  • Set the efficiency of the extract air fan to the same level as in the At home mode.
  • Increase the percentage of the supply air fan by the required amount. If there is no fireplace in the home, use the same fan percentages as in the At home mode.
  • Ensure that the timer is turned on and check its duration.
  • Set the supply air temperature for the Custom mode
  • Airflow settings are now complete.

Completing the setup

  • Set the fan percentage of the Boost mode.
  • Go to Expert settings.
  • Go to Bypass settings of the HR cell.
  • Turn on the HR cell bypass.
  • Go to Save and restore settings.
  • Save the setup settings.
  • The setup is now complete.
  • If you make changes to any settings, such as the settings of analogic or digital outlets, do not forget to save the setup settings.

COMPENSATING FOR THE EXTRACT AIRFLOW OF THE COOKER HOOD AND THE CENTRAL VACUUM CLEANER BY USING A MYVALLOX VENTILATION UNIT AND VALLOX AITO KOTILÄMPÖ

MyVallox ventilation units can be used to even out the underpressure that is generated in the apartment by the cooker hood in connection to the removal of cooking smells or by the central vacuum cleaner. Please note that the extract airflow of an efficient cooker hood cannot be fully compensated for with a ventilation unit. Compensation requires contact data e.g. from the damper of the cooker hood or cooker fan, from the pressure switch of the extract duct, or from the central vacuum cleaner. Contact data is led to the digital input D/I1 or D/I2 of the ventilation unit.

On/off status of the Allaway central vacuum cleaner
The contact data indicating the on/off status of the central vacuum cleaner is led to the digital input D/I1 or D/I2 of the MyVallox ventilation unit. The on/off status of the central vacuum cleaner as per unit model:

  • X and Z series: integrated on/off status sensor. Wire connector contacts AHU1 and AHU2.
  • C series: integrated on/off status sensor. The on/off status sensor output is equipped with the following sticker: Optional: to the ventilation unit.
  • Other Allaway models: external OI-1 on/off status sensor. Connectors (A, B).

To enable compensation for both the cooker hood and the central vacuum cleaner, the Custom mode must be used for one of the functions, because the settings of the programmable input are the same regardless of whether they have been set for digital input 1 or 2. The most natural solution is to use the Boost mode for the compensation of the cooker hood, because their settings can be the same. In such a case, the possible separate fireplace switch is connected next to the contact data of the cooker hood.
Select Programmable input as the setting used for the digital input 1. Set the efficiency of the supply and extract fans of the programmable input at the level required by the compensation of the central vacuum cleaner. Select Boost mode as the setting for digital input 2. Set the efficiency of the supply and extract fans of the Boost mode to the level suitable for the compensation of the cooker hood and/or for the Boost mode.
In both modes, primarily increase the supply airflow and select a suitable supply air temperature. The lower the set supply air temperature, the higher the supply airflow that can be maintained in sub-zero temperatures.

For the cooker fan, e.g.

  • supply 90%, extraction 40%

For the central vacuum cleaner, e.g.

  • Vallox 51 MV supply 90%, extraction 40%
  • Vallox 096 MV supply 70%, extraction 40%
  • Vallox 99 MV supply 70%, extraction 40%
  • Vallox 110 MV supply 60%, extraction 40%
  • Vallox 145 MV supply 50%, extraction 40%

NOTE
Never use the cooker fan, the central vacuum cleaner, and the fireplace simultaneously.

Settings by using the MyVallox control panel

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Use Arrow to select Expert settings
  3. Use Arrow to select I/O and bus settings
  4. Use Arrow to select Input settings
  5. Use Arrow to select Digital input 1
  6. Use Arrowto select Programmable input on/off
  7. Set the duration of Programmable input and the supply and extract fan speeds

Settings by using a computer

  1. Open the Expert settings tab
  2. Select Programmable input as the setting used for Digital input 1.
  3. Press Edit.
  4. Set the duration of Programmable input and the supply and extraction fan speeds
