**Safety instructions

**

  • Read the manual thoroughly and completely before using Starlyf® Therma Boost.Save the instructions for future reference.
  • Before use, check that the unit is undamaged and comes complete with all supplied accessories. It is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
  • Never charge the battery if the temperature is below 0ºC. Use, charge and store the unit at a temperature between 5ºC and 35ºC.
  • Avoid charging the battery by exposing it to direct sunlight or near a heat source.
  • Never charge the battery continuously for more than 48 hours.
  • To recharge the battery, use only the detachable power supply unit supplied with this appliance.
  • The appliance may only be used with the power supply unit supplied. – Starlyf® Therma Boost must be installed according to the installation instructions.
  • Starlyf® Therma Boost is only suitable for indoor use. Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not leave unit unattended during use.Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use Starlyf® Therma Boost near flammable or explosive materials: risk of fire or explosion.
  • It is strictly forbidden to insert objects into the air inlets and outlets of the Starlyf® Therma Boost.
  • Use only above the radiator. Do not cover the air inlet and outlet openings.
  • Do not touch the housing when the unit is in operation: Check that the Starlyf® Therma Boost is cool before turning it off and storing it.
  • Before each use, make sure it is in good condition and intact. Do not plug in or use the unit if the housing, cord or plug is damaged.
  • If using the Starlyf® Therma Boost connected with the USB cable, unplug it from the power outlet when moving it.
  • Product is limited to household use.
  • CAUTION: Never cover the Starlyf® Therma Boost.
  • Avoid using an extension cord, as it may overheat and cause a fire.
  • Do not use Starlyf® Therma Boost in the vicinity of a bathtub or shower.
  • Children under 3 years of age should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children between 3 and 8 years of age may only switch the appliance on and off if it has been placed or installed in its normal intended operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children from 3 years of age and under 8 years of age shall not plug in, adjust, clean or service the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Non-submersible product -This product is not waterproof. Keep away from water or the product may be damaged.
  • Do not handle -This product is not a toy.
  • Keep this product out of the reach of children.
  • Do not use on radiators that can reach a temperature of over 70ºC.
  • This appliance contains batteries that are non-replaceable
  • It must only be supplied at SELV.
  • Ensure that the fan is switched off from the supply mains before removing the guard.

Installation instructions

Before installation, check that all parts are complete and that the product is intact.
For best performance, the product should be placed flat in the centre of the radiator, ensuring that the base of the unit and the top of the radiator are parallel.
The front flange should protrude from the radiator and be as close to the front face as possible. Whenever possible make sure that the safety magnet (FIGURE 3, G) is in contact with Before installation, check that all parts are complete and that the product is intact.

Charge the Starlyf® Therma Boost fully; the display will show the percentage of charge in %. When the unit is fully charged the display will show: 99%.
Auto switch: Starlyf® Therma Boost has an automatic function, from temperatures of 33ºC it starts automatically or stops automatically if the temperature is below 33ºC.
Switch on: (-) Automatic activation: The unit switches on/off at 33ºC and above.
Switch off: (0) Manual control
Speed and On/Off switch: Controls the fan speed:
High (II), Low (I) or Off (0).
Note: You can only control the speed and On/Off of the unit if the Auto switch is in manual control position Switch off: (0)
Display screen:
ºC: indicates the temperature in degrees ºC. Example: 35ºC is the radiator temperature.
%: indicates the battery charge level.
Hi/Lo: for volt. setting. Hi: high/ Lo: low
Starlyf® Therma Boost has a battery life of approximately 6 hours on low speed and 4 hours on high speed. Important: The USB cable can be used to operate the unit or to charge it, but operating and charging cannot be done simultaneously. So if you connect the USB cable to charge the Starlyf® Therma Boost, make sure the Auto switch is in the off (0) position and the speed and On/Off switch is in the off (0) position.
Starlyf® Therma Boost is compatible with the following types of radiators:

  • Ideal for double convector radiators

  • Suitable for most radiators:

  • Cast iron

  • Modern tubular

  • Single wall radiators

INSTALLATION OF STABILITY FEET (OPTIONAL)

Stability feet are not included in the set, are optional and are designed for use with single convention (traditional style) radiators.
To install, screw the thread until the position between the stability foot and the flange on the front of the unit is the optimum width to fit over the radiator. They are designed to help ensure that the Starlyf® Therma Boost sits securely on the radiator and does not tilt forward or fall off.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Make sure the unit is turned off and completely cooled before performing any maintenance operations.
  2. Wipe the Starlyf® Therma Boost with a damp cloth or towel. Wipe dry with a dry cloth.
  3. Never immerse the unit in water.

Storage:
Always unplug the appliance, let it cool completely and clean it before storing. If the appliance is not to be used for a long period of time, put the unit and the instruction manual back in the original carton and store it in a dry and ventilated place.Do not place heavy objects on top of the carton during storage, as this may damage the appliance.

This product is covered by a warranty against manufacturing defects subject to the time periods stipulated by the legislation in force in each country.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from inadequate use, negligent commercial use, abnormal wear and tear, accidents or improper handling.

These are prescribed by the Australian Consumer Law & the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 both of which provide protection for consumers. There is no express warranty for this product in Australia or New Zealand. The above paragraph refers to other countries.

Disposal of old electric appliances
The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream.

Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
