Switching On the Scale
To switch on the scale, follow these steps:

  1. Place the scale on an even surface.
  2. Press the On/Off/Tare Control.
  3. Wait for the display to show zero weight.
    If the weight exceeds 5kg, the LCD Display will show “O_LD”.

Using the Tare Function
Follow these steps to use the Tare function:

  1. Place your empty container onto the scale.
  2. The LCD Display will show the weight of the container.
  3. Press the On/Off/Tare Control to clear the weight of the container.
  4. Add your ingredients into the container.
  5. The LCD Display will now show the weight of the ingredients only.
  6. To reset the value to zero when you remove the ingredients or container, press the On/Off/Tare Control.

Environment Friendly Disposal

  • Before disposing of the device/unit, please remove the battery.
  • Do not dispose of old batteries with your household waste. Instead, take them to a battery collection station at a recycling site or in a shop. For more information about disposal, consult your municipal authority or dealer.

  • Do not unscrew the rear cover as this can cause damage.
  • Never put batteries in your mouth. If swallowed, contact your physician or local poison control centre.
  • Never short-circuit the batteries.
  • Keep the battery away from children.
  • Only the recommended batteries or equivalent are to be used, volts and size.
  • When replacing batteries, make sure to insert them under the correct polarity as indicated within the battery compartment.
  • Batteries can contain combustible materials. If not handled correctly batteries can leak, become very hot, ignite, or even explode, which could damage your appliance or/and your health.
  • Before inserting the batteries, check that the contacts in the device and on the batteries are clean and, if necessary, clean them.
  • Only use new batteries.
  • Do not use rechargeable batteries.
  • Never try to recharge normal batteries. Danger of explosion!
  • Never expose the batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or similar. There is an increased risk of leakage.

  • Remove leaking batteries from the device immediately. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. If these areas come into contact with battery acid, rinse them immediately with plenty of clean water and contact a doctor immediately. There is a risk of corrosion due to battery acid.

BEFORE FIRST USE / INSERT OR CHANGE BATTERY

  • Make sure that all the product’s packaging has been removed.
  • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale and remove the cover.
  • Remove the old battery from the battery compartment.
  • Insert the new battery and ensure it has been inserted the correct way up.
  • Place the cover back into position.

USING THE APPLIANCE
Note: Touch-sensitive controls – press gently.

  1. To switch on the scale, place it on an even surface and press on the On/Off/Tare Control. As soon as the weight on the display reads zero, the scale is ready for use.
  2. Place the item to be weighed carefully onto scale.
  3. Press the Unit Control to select the units required.
  4. To turn off the scale, press and hold the On/Off/Tare Control.

Warning:

  • Overload Indication: The scale can measure accurately up to 5kg. When the weight exceeds 5kg the LCD Display will show “O_LD” (see Figure 1)
  • Low Battery Indication: When the batteries are low, the LCD Display will show “L0” (see Figure 2)

USING THE TARE FUNCTION

  1. Place your empty container onto the scale. The LCD Display will show the weight of the container.
  2. Press the On/Off/Tare Control to clear the weight of the container and place your ingredients into the container. The LCD Display will now show the weight of the ingredients only.
  3. When you remove the ingredients or container, the scale will show a negative load value. Press the On/Off/Tare Control to reset the value to zero.

CLEANING

  • Clean the scale with a damp cloth and dry before storage.

Caution:

  • Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
  • Never submerge the scale in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.
