Mode 2 EV Charger
This Masterplug Mode 2 charger is intended for use with electric and hybrid
vehicles.
Please read and use in accordance with these safety instructions. Please
retain instructions for reference.
Safety Instructions
Always inspect before use, do not use if the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
(EVSE) plug, or cable is damaged.
Do not use with an extension lead or adaptor.
Connect the charging cable to a correctly functioning and suitable socket
outlet.
Protect the plug and cable from moisture.
The user is responsible for any personal injury or vehicle or property damage
arising from inappropriate use.
Operating Instructions & Indicator Status
Follow the instruction on the charger screen.
- Insert 3-pin plug into wall socket (and switch on) – Charger starts self test mode, and Masterplug logo will appear on the screen. After a couple of seconds, LED will flash Blue, ready to connect, if Red check fault guide.
- Connect to EV – the charger will then start communication with the car, indicated by a Yellow LED.
- Charging – Green indicator streams from top to bottom. Once charged indicator will turn solid Green.
- To end charging disconnect (turn off) from wall socket and remove charger from EV.

Fault Guide & Trouble Shooting
The charger includes many safety features to protect your electric vehicle, a fault is indicated by illumination of the Red indicator.
Fault State | Remark |
---|---|
OVP State | Over voltage, input voltage out of tolerance. |
UVP State | Under voltage, input voltage out of tolerance. |
OTP State | Charger over temperature. |
Turn off power for 30min and allow to cool.
POTP State| Plug over temperature.
Turn off power for 30min and allow to cool.
OCP State| Overload, current set too high.
Check EV settings. Max 1 0A.
DCLP State| Direct current earth fault.
Turn off power and check for damage to the cable.
CP Fault| Charging cable fault.
CP voltage abnormal.
Relay Fault| Charging cable fault.
PEN or Earth Fault| Lack of earth connection at wall socket.
To reset and clear the fault follow the instructions.
Unplug charging cable from the vehicle.
Unplug (or turn off) charging cable from the wall socket.
Keep unplugged for 30 seconds.
Repeat connection process.
If the faults are not reset, the charging cable may be fault. Please contact

Care
Masterplug recommend the use of a soft dry or slightly damp cloth periodically
