Installation

  1. Do not use an electric screwdriver during installation.
  2. Follow the installation guide provided in the user manual for step-by-step instructions on installing the X1 Finger Vein Smart Lock.

Tuya App Use Guide

  1. Download the Tuya SmartApp from Google Play or App Store.
  2. Scan the QR code provided in the manual to download the Tuya App.
  3. Open the Tuya App and follow the on-screen instructions to set up and connect your X1 Finger Vein Smart Lock.

Locking and Unlocking

  • To lock the lock manually from outside, press and hold the “#” button.
  • If the lock won’t accept any inputs after entering an incorrect code, finger vein, or card multiple times, the lock will freeze for 90 seconds. You can unlock the lock via the Tuya App or wait for 90 seconds to continue.
  • If the batteries are completely dead, you can use the physical keys to unlock the device. Alternatively, you can connect a power bank to the lock for emergency power supply.

INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Installation Instructions

STEP 1: Prepare the door and check dimensions

  • Measure to confirm that the hole in the door is 1-1/2″‘ or 2-1/8″ (38mm or 54mm)
  • Measure to confirm that the hole in the door edge is 1″ (25mm).
  • Measure to confirm that the backset is either 2-3/8″ or 2-3/4″ (60 or 70mm)
  • Measure to confirm that the door is 1-3/8″ to 2″ (35 mm or 50mm) thick.
  • Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1″ (25mm) deep, to leave enough space for the deadbolt to extend into the door frame when the door is locked.

Notes

  • Make sure the door frame is aligned with the door.
  • There are no obstructions stuck in the door frame.

STEP 2: Install the latch and strike

  • Determine backset and adjust the latch
    • Hold the latch in front of the door hole, with the latch face flush against the door edge. Is the slotted hole centered in the door hole?
    • YES
    • No adjustment is required.
    • Proceed to next step.
    • NO
    • Slotted hole is NOT centered.
    • Rotate and pull the latch as shown to extend latch.
  • Install the latch
  • Use a screwdriver to test if deadbolt works smoothly.
  • Install strike on the door frame.
    • IMPORTANT: Make sure the hole in door frame is drilled a minimum of 1″ (25mm) deep

STEP 3: Install exterior assembly

IMPORTANT

  • Before installation, make sure the latch is fully retracted (in the unlocked position)

  • Measure the diameter of the hole in the door.

  • With the latch fully retracted (in the unlocked position), route the cable below the latch, and insert the tailpiece through the slot in the latch.

  • Secure the mounting plate with the supplied screws. Do not overtighten screws.

STEP 4: Install interior assembly

  • Push the battery cover out in the direction as illustrated.

    • IMPORTANT: Do not load batteries until lock is completely installed.
  • Determine the door is right handed or left handed.

    • Notes: If the direction of the slide switch is set incorrectly, it can be reset in DDLock App.
  • Right handed door

    • Move the slide switch to “R”
    • Turn the thumb turn to the Vertical position.
  • Left handed door

    • Move the slide switch to “L”
    • Turn the thumb turn to the Horizontal position.
  • Insert the cable connector to the socket. Push the connector in firmly until it is completely attached.

  • Attach Interior Assembly to Mounting Plate and tighten 3 Screws.

  • Insert 4 AA Alkaline batteries and put on the battery cover.

UNLOCK the door from outside

LOCK the door from outside

  • Auto Lock Mode
    • In Auto Lock mode, the bolt will extend out automatically in 5 seconds after unlocking.
  • Manual Mode
    • Press # on keypad for 2 seconds.

UNLOCK the door from inside

  • Rotate the thumb turn to Unlock position.

LOCK the door from inside

  • Auto Lock Mode
    • In Auto Lock mode, the device will be locked automatically.
  • Manual Mode
    • Rotate the thumb turn to Lock Position.
Programming Basic

Definitions

  • Auto Lock
    • Automatically locks the deadbolt 5 seconds after unlocking. This feature is off by default. You can customize the Auto Lock time delay between 1 and 900 seconds.
  • Key Unlock
    • Key Unlock is always available when the batteries are completely dead or valid User Codes are forgotten.
  • Low Battery Indicator
    • If you hear 3 beeps along with 3 red light flashing after pressing any key to lock or unlock the door, that’s an alert for replacing batteries.
    • Please replace with 4 brand new AA alkaline batteries and do not mix used and new batteries. All settings are stored in the lock while the batteries are removed and replaced.
  • Wrong Entry Limit
    • After 5 unsuccessful attempts at entering an invalid PIN code, the unit will shut down for 2 minutes.
  • Silent Mode
    • The beep sounds when pressing keypad can be muted. But you will still hear low battery and system alerts.
  • Unlock with Fake code
    • User can prevent pin code exposure from strangers by entering random digits before or after pin code. The total password length is within 16 digits.

  • STEP 1: Download “Tuya Smart” App in google Play or App Store

  • You will be sent a verification code to verify your account !
  • Once you receive it, tap on “Register”

Notes: The DDLock app is needed to use this lock. If this lock was professionally installed (or installed by someone other than the homeowner), make sure this step is performed by the homeowner.

Quick Set Up

IMPORTANT

  • The default Master Code is 123456.
  • It is required that you change it to a code of your own before programming.

How to Reset?

  • Press and hold the Reset button on the interior assembly by using the reset tool, stop holding until you hear a short beep and see 1 green light flash.

IMPORTANT: The reset button function must be turned on in the DDLock App before reseting.
