QUICK GUIDE
Vodafone Guardian offers enhanced vehicle protection services, with the advantage of an easy remote access to security and convenience features through My Connected Car, the mobile and WEB app designed to help You keep in touch with Your vehicle at all times. All Vodafone systems are recognized by the majority of leading insurance companies: you may qualify for a discount on your insurance premium. After choosing your tracking service, you can automatically have access to My Connected Car, the dedicated mobile and WEB app providing vehicle information. Multi smartphone and tablet support allows My Connected Car use from iPhone® and Android™ devices. Depending on the service subscription, the telematics unit and options installed, remote vehicle management and security functions may include:

An optional external push-button (E- button) can be connected to the unit, triggering an alert by pressing it. Emergency numbers accessible via the app can be used to call the Secure Operating Centre (SOC) reporting the vehicle theft, to contact the Customer Service or for an Emergency call and Roadside assistance (depending on service subscription and country).

System arming and disarming

  • If you have chosen the Guardian Private service, the system will automatically arm/disarm upon recognition of your vehicle remote key.
  • If you have chosen the Guardian Personal service, the system will automatically arm/disarm upon recognition of the
  • Driver Card that you must always keep with you.

My Connected Car App

You’re My Connected Car mobile app can be easily downloaded at :

The same service contents can be managed using a connected PC and the WEB application at URL: http://myconnectedcar.vodafone.com
To access these services, a Login and a Password will be supplied at service activation:

  • Your LOGIN is the number of your Client Card, which is contained in the Welcome Letter received at subscription.
  • Your PASSWORD will be sent to You in the Welcome SMS Message received at service activation.

OVERRIDE CODE

Emergency procedure for local crank inhibition deactivation

Note : as soon as the service activation will be performed, you will receive a welcome message that contains also your Emergency code (Override code).

It is a 4-digits code to be used to deactivate the crank inhibition set remotely by the Security Operating Center or through your Mobile app (as an example when there is an ongoing GSM jamming attack or when you are not under GSM coverage).

Note : at fi rst be sure to have the emergency code available.

  • Turn the ignition key ON and leave it turned ON for not less than 2 min..
  • Turn the ignition key OFF and leave it turned OFF for a time equal to the fi rst digit of Your emergency code  multiplied by 10 s.
  • Turn the ignition key ON and leave it turned ON for a time equal to the second digit of Your emergency code multiplied by 10 s.
  • Turn the ignition key OFF and leave it turned OFF for a time equal to the third digit of Your emergency code multiplied by 10 s.
  • Turn the ignition key ON and leave it turned ON for a time equal to the fourth digit of Your emergency code multiplied by 10 s.
  • Turn the ignition key OFF.
  • Switch the engine ON.
  • If the engine does not start, repeat the procedure from step “1”.

OVERRIDE code example: 1234

  • digit 1 – 10 s ignition key OFF,
  • digit 2 – 20 s ignition key ON,
  • digit 3 – 30 s ignition key OFF,
  • digit 4 – 40 s ignition key ON.

OVERRIDE CODE – Emergency procedure for local crank inhibition deactivation with Driver Card

In case of emergency, the Driver Card included in your service (only with Guardian Personal Service) might also be used to deactivate the crank inhibition set remotely by the Security Operating Center or through your Mobile app. To deactivate the crank inhibition just press the Driver Card button for more than 1 s.

Warning : the Driver Card is the device that allows the recognition of the driver. If it is forgotten in the vehicle, the system switches ON automatically after 30 min. not recognizing the Driver Card left in the vehicle. To avoid the generation of false alarms, it is necessary to briefly press the button on the Driver Card when returning to the vehicle.

What happens if your vehicle is stolen abroad?
Your fi rst point of contact is always your National SOC using the phone number which appears in your Service Manual or in the My Connected Car app. The SOC will then re-direct the confirmed theft to the SOC in the country of theft in order to track the vehicle and liaise with the Police authorities in the local language.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

This product is guaranteed for 24 months from the date of purchase, validated by receipt or invoice. The warranty will be null and void if the product shows signs of tampering, incorrect installation, damage caused by falling or transport, negligence and anything else not imputable to manufacturing defects. In the event of improper installation of the system, the manufacturer shall not be liable to compensate for damages:

  • of any kind and direct or indirect;
  • to things or to persons.

To benefi t from warranty coverage, contact your authorized dealer with adequate documentation showing the date of purchase. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any faults or malfunctions in the anti-theft device and/or in the electrical system of the vehicle due to incorrect installation and/or to fail to comply with the indicated technical specifi cations.

DISPOSAL OF WASTED ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS–WEEE (Applicable in the European Union and other European countries with separate collection programs)
The system is internally equipped with a battery of Ni-Mh not accessible and replaceable only by the manufacturer. This symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household waste. Dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to the authorized collection center for the recycling of electrical and electronic waste. The separate collection and recycling of waste equipment will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects the environment and people’s health.
