Read all instructions prior to installation.
CAUTION
Failure to read these instructions prior to installation may result in
personal injury, property damage, or product failure. Manufacturer assumes no
responsibility for product failure due to improper installation.
IMPORTANT: The 8SP-MU-3 audio configuration is designed to work with the
8GE-TSG series steam generators. To operate the 8SP-MU-3 audio configuration,
a 8CN-600, 8CB-600 or 8CH-600 Series control is also required.
Audio Module Installation
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not perform any servicing other then
that contained in the operating instructions unless you are qualified to do
so.
-
Select a location for mounting the audio module in a utility area or closet. The audio input jacks on the side of the module should be conveniently accessible to plug in additional audio inputs. Secure to the wall with screws. Do not install any part of this assembly inside a wall.
-
Make sure a 120 volt outlet is located near the module mounting location. Plug in the 5’ power cord (supplied) after all connections are complete.
-
Route the control cable from the module location to the 8GE-TSG series steam generator, or optional R80000E, 8SP-MU-4 and/or 8SP-MU-5. The manners in which the cables are routed are dependent on what is best suited for the installation. There are multiple connection jacks in 8GETSG series steam generator, two in the 8SP-MU-5, two in the R80000E, two in the 8SP-MU-4, and two on this module allowing for gangable connections in the most convenient arrangement (See figure 3 for the system wiring diagram).
-
Indicator lights, (See Figure 1):
Green Light (Power Light): This along with the blue and yellow light will flash momentarily when the power is first plugged in. This flash indicates the microprocessor is functioning and is a test for the lights. Yellow Light (Communication Light): This light is an indicator that the system is not communicating with the control. After the initial power up the light will continue to flash until communication is established with the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control. To establish communication, power to the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control must be turned on. If power is already on go to the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control and start a steam or shower cycle for a few seconds. Then stop or cancel the cycle. This action will make the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control look for the audio system and establish communication. When the audio module is communicating with the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control this light will be off. Blue Light (Bluetooth Light): This light will be on steady when the bluetooth signal is broadcasting and not paired with a device. When a device is paired the light will flash. The light will turn off if bluetooth is turned off on the 8CH-600, 8CB-600 or 8CN-600 series control. -
Refer to the wiring diagram on (Figure 3) for connecting the speakers to the audio control module or invisible speakers.

Invisible Speaker Installation
IMPORTANT: For optimum performance, the thickness of tile should not be more than ½”. If the wall/ceiling material is too dense, the invisible speakers will not work properly.
-
Select a suitable location to mount the 8SP-MU-3 invisible speakers. Future access for service should be considered. Optimum speaker location is in the ceiling above the steam or shower area where space above it is unoccupied, such as attic space. Speakers may also be installed onto walls with consideration that the space behind the wall is a closet or space where sound will not disturb occupied space. This will minimize the sound penetrating adjacent rooms and provide future access. The speakers are intended to be installed outside the shower and out of sight.
-
Speakers should be mounted on opposite sides of the room. Center between the joist/studs (See Figure 3).
-
Remove adhesive liner from speaker and attach it to the cement board between the joist/studs (See Figure 2). Repeat for second speaker on opposite side of the room.
-
Route speaker wires to the 8SP-MU-3 Audio Module.
The positive speaker leg is red and the negative speaker leg is black (as shown in Figure 3). -
Test speakers before closing walls.
NOTE: Invisible speakers are designed to transfer energy through the surfaces they are mounted to and must be mounted behind the wall or ceiling. As with all audible devices, sound may be present outside of the immediate steam room area.
